¹²⁵ I am thy slave; give me understanding, that I may know thy testimonies.

⁷ And that night God appeared unto Solomon and said unto him, Ask what I shall give thee. ⁸ And Solomon said unto God, Thou hast showed great mercy unto David, my father, and hast placed me as king in his stead. ⁹ Now, O LORD God, let thy word unto David, my father, be established, for thou hast placed me as king over a people like the dust of the earth in multitude. ¹⁰ Give me now wisdom and knowledge that I may go out and come in before this people, for who can judge this thy people, that is so great?

¹⁶ O look into me and have mercy upon me; give thy strength unto thy slave and keep the son of thine handmaid.

¹⁶ This is so, O LORD, because I am thy slave; I am thy slave, the son of thine handmaid; thou hast loosed my bonds.

¹¹ ¶ Thy spoken word have I hid in my heart that I might not sin against thee.

¹⁸ ¶ Open my eyes, and I shall behold the wonders of thy law. ¹⁹ ¶ I am a stranger in the earth; hide not thy commandments from me.

²⁹ Remove from me the way of lying, and from thy law grant me mercy.

³⁴ Give me understanding, and I shall keep thy law; yea, I shall observe it with my whole heart.

⁶⁶ which teaches me discernment and knowledge, for I have believed thy commandments.

⁹⁴ ¶ I am thine, keep me; for I have sought thy precepts.

¹⁰ The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.

⁸ ¶ The wisdom of the sane is to understand his way, but the folly of fools is deceit.

²² But now freed from sin and made slaves to God, ye have as your fruit sanctification and as the end, everlasting life.

⁵ Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think anything as of ourselves, but our sufficiency is of God, ⁶ ¶ who also has made us able ministers of the new testament, not of the letter, but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.

⁷ Understand what I say, that the Lord shall give thee understanding in all things.

⁵ And if any of you lacks wisdom, let them ask of God (who gives abundantly to all, and without reproach), and it shall be given them.

¹³ ¶ Who is wise and ready among you? let him show out of a good conversation his works in meekness of wisdom. ¹⁴ But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, boast not and do not be liars against the truth. ¹⁵ This wisdom is not that which descends from above, but is earthly, natural, diabolical. ¹⁶ For where there is envy and contention, there is confusion and every perverse work. ¹⁷ But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, modest, benevolent, full of mercy and of good fruits, not judgmental, unfeigned.
