¹ ¶ My son, keep my words, and lay up my commandments with thee.

²⁸ and the curse if ye will not hear the commandments of the LORD your God, but turn aside out of the way which I command you this day, to go after other gods, which ye have not known.

²² Receive, I pray thee, the law from his mouth, and lay up his words in thine heart.

⁸ My son, hearken unto the chastening of thy father, and forsake not the law of thy mother:

¹ ¶ My son, if thou wilt receive my words and hide my commandments within thee ² so that thou incline thine ear unto wisdom and apply thine heart to intelligence, ³ yea, if thou criest for understanding and givest thy voice unto intelligence, ⁴ if thou seekest her as silver and searchest for her as for hid treasures, ⁵ then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD and find the knowledge of God. ⁶ For the LORD gives wisdom; out of his mouth comes knowledge and intelligence. ⁷ He keeps the person of the upright; he is a buckler to those that walk perfectly,

¹ ¶ My son, forget not my law, but let thine heart keep my commandments:

¹⁴ ¶ Wise men keep knowledge, but the mouth of the foolish is near unto calamity.

¹⁵ But that on the good ground are those who in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it and bring forth fruit with patience.

²⁸ But he said, Rather, blessed are those that hear the word of God and keep it.

²³ Jesus answered and said unto him, He who loves me will keep my words, and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him and dwell with him.

²⁰ Remember the word that I said unto you, The slave is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my word, they will keep yours also.

³ ¶ Blessed is he that reads and those that hear the words of this prophecy and keep those things which are written therein, for the time is at hand.

⁹ Then he said unto me, See thou do it not: for I am thy fellowslave and with thy brethren the prophets and with those who keep the words of this book: worship God.
