²⁰ And when Moses heard that, he was content.

¹⁸ For a multitude of the people, even many of Ephraim and Manasseh, Issachar, and Zebulun, had not cleansed themselves, and they ate the passover not as it was written. But Hezekiah prayed for them, saying, The good LORD pardon each one ¹⁹ that has prepared his heart to seek God, the LORD God of his fathers, even though he is not cleansed according to the purification of the sanctuary. ²⁰ And the LORD hearkened to Hezekiah and healed the people.

⁸ ¶ And the word of the LORD came unto Zechariah, saying, ⁹ Thus hath the LORD of the hosts spoken, saying, Execute true judgment, and show mercy and compassion each one to his brother;

³ But he said unto them, Have ye not read what David did, and those that were with him, when he was hungry, ⁴ how he entered into the house of God and ate the showbread, which was not lawful for him to eat, neither for those who were with him, but only for the priests? ⁵ Or have ye not read in the law, how that on the sabbath days the priests in the temple profane the sabbath and are blameless? ⁶ But I say unto you, That in this place is one greater than the temple. ⁷ But if ye knew what this means, I will have mercy and not sacrifice, ye would not condemn the innocent.

²⁰ A bruised reed he shall not break, and a smoking flax he shall not quench until he sends forth judgment unto victory.
