¹ ¶ But King Solomon loved many strange women, together with the daughter of Pharaoh, women of the Moabites, Ammonites, Edomites, Zidonians, and Hittites,

²⁶ Did not Solomon, king of Israel, sin by these things? Yet among many nations there was no king like him, who was beloved of his God, and God made him king over all Israel; nevertheless, strange women caused even him to offend.

¹⁴ ¶ The mouth of strange women is a deep pit; he that is abhorred of the LORD shall fall therein.

²⁷ For a whore is a deep ditch and a strange woman is a narrow pit.

¹¹ ¶ As a dog returns to his vomit, so the fool returns to his folly.

²² ¶ Though thou should bray a fool in a mortar among wheat with a pestle, yet his foolishness will not depart from him.
