⁴ Who can bring a clean thing out of an unclean? No one.

³ And Adam lived one hundred and thirty years and begat a son in his own likeness, after his image, and called his name Seth:

¹⁴ What is man that he should be clean and that he that is born of a woman should be justified?

⁴ How then can man be justified with God? Or how can he that is born of a woman be clean? ⁵ Behold, even the moon shall not shine, neither are the stars pure in his sight. ⁶ How much less man, who is as a worm, and the son of man, who is also a worm?

⁵ Behold, the pain of my iniquity has caused me to writhe; my mother conceived me so that sin might be removed from me.

⁵ Thou dost cause them to pass by as the waters of a river; they are as a dream, which is strong in the morning like grass.

³⁵ And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Spirit shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee; therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.

⁶ That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

¹² Therefore, in the manner which sin entered into the world by one man, and because of sin, death; and so death passed upon all men in the one in whom all sinned.

⁸ So then, those that are carnal cannot please God. ⁹ But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, because the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, that person is not of him.

³ among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind and were by nature the children of wrath, even as all the others.
