³⁴ I have seen, I have seen the affliction of my people which is in Egypt, and I have heard their groaning and am come down to deliver them. And now come, I will send thee into Egypt.

⁵ ¶ And the LORD came down to see the city and the tower, which the sons of the man built.

⁷ Now, let us go down and there confound their language that they may not understand one another’s speech.

²¹ I will go down now and see whether they have done altogether according to the cry of it, which is come unto me; and if not, I will know.

²³ ¶ And it came to pass in process of time that the king of Egypt died, and the sons of Israel sighed by reason of the bondage, and they cried, and their cry came up unto God from their bondage. ²⁴ And God heard their groaning and God remembered his covenant with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. ²⁵ And God looked upon the sons of Israel, and God recognized them.

⁷ ¶ And the LORD said, I have surely seen the affliction of my people who are in Egypt and have heard their cry by reason of their taskmasters; for I know their sorrows; ⁸ and I am come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians and to bring them up out of that land unto a good and broad land, unto a land flowing with milk and honey, unto the places of the Canaanite and the Hittite and the Amorite and the Perizzite and the Hivite and the Jebusite. ⁹ Therefore, behold, the cry of the sons of Israel has now come before me, and I have also seen the oppression with which the Egyptians oppress them. ¹⁰ Come now therefore, and I will send thee unto Pharaoh that thou may bring forth my people, the sons of Israel, out of Egypt.

¹⁴ And God answered unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM. And he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the sons of Israel: I AM (YHWH) has sent me unto you.

³¹ And the people believed; and hearing that the LORD had visited the sons of Israel and that he had seen their affliction, they bowed and worshipped.

⁵ And likewise I have heard the groaning of the sons of Israel, whom the Egyptians keep in bondage, and I have remembered my covenant. ⁶ Therefore say unto the sons of Israel, I am the LORD, and I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, and I will free you out of their bondage, and I will redeem you with a stretched out arm and with great judgments.

¹⁷ And I will come down and talk with thee there, and I will take of the spirit which is in thee and will put it upon them, and they shall bear the burden of the people with thee, that thou bear it not thyself alone.

¹⁸ And when the LORD raised them up judges, then the LORD was with the judge and delivered them out of the hand of their enemies all the days of that judge; for the LORD repented because of their groanings by reason of those that oppressed them and afflicted them.

¹⁵ And the sons of Israel said unto the LORD, We have sinned; do thou unto us whatever seems good unto thee; only deliver us now, we pray thee, this day. ¹⁶ And they put away the strange gods from among them and served the LORD; and his soul was grieved for the misery of Israel.

⁹ And thou didst see the affliction of our fathers in Egypt and didst hear their cry by the Red sea

²⁶ He sent Moses his slave and Aaron whom he had chosen.

⁴⁴ Nevertheless he would look upon their affliction and hear their cry

⁵ Bow thy heavens, O LORD, and come down; touch the mountains, and they shall smoke.

⁸ For he said, Surely they are my people, sons that do not lie: and he was their Saviour. ⁹ In all their affliction he was afflicted, and the Angel of his face saved them: with his love and with his clemency he redeemed them; and he bore them and carried them all the days of the age.

¹ ¶ Oh that thou would rend the heavens, that thou would come down, that the mountains might flow down at thy presence,

¹³ And by a prophet the LORD brought Israel out of Egypt, and by a prophet he was preserved.

⁴ For I brought thee up out of the land of Egypt and ransomed thee out of the house of slaves; and I sent before thee Moses, Aaron, and Miriam.

¹³ And no one has ascended up to the heaven but he that came down from the heaven, even the Son of man, who is in the heaven.

³⁸ For I came down from the heaven, not to do my own will, but the will of him that sent me.
