¹³ The God of Abraham and of Isaac and of Jacob, the God of our fathers, has glorified his Son Jesus, whom ye delivered up and denied him in the presence of Pilate, when he had judged to let him go.

⁶ Moreover he said, I am the God of thy father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. Then Moses covered his face, for he was afraid to look upon God.

⁶ Yet I have set my king upon Zion, the mountain of my holiness. ⁷ ¶ I will declare the decree; the LORD hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day I have begotten thee. ⁸ Ask of me, and I shall give thee the Gentiles for thine inheritance and unto the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession. ⁹ Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter’s vessel. ¹⁰ ¶ Understand now therefore, O ye kings: receive chastening, ye judges of the earth. ¹¹ Serve the LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling. ¹² Kiss the Son lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way when his wrath is kindled in a little while. Blessed are all those that put their trust in him.

⁶ O ye seed of Abraham his slave, ye sons of Jacob his chosen. ⁷ He is the LORD our God; his judgments are in all the earth. ⁸ ¶ He has remembered his covenant for ever, the word which he commanded for a thousand generations, ⁹ which covenant he made with Abraham and his oath unto Isaac ¹⁰ and confirmed the same unto Jacob by decree, and to Israel for an everlasting covenant:

¹ A Psalm of David. ¶ The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand until I make thine enemies thy footstool. ² The LORD shall send the rod of thy strength out of Zion; rule thou in the midst of thine enemies.

²⁷ All things are delivered unto me of my Father, and no one has known the Son but the Father, neither has anyone known the Father except the Son and he unto whom the Son will reveal him.

¹⁹ and shall deliver him to the Gentiles to mock and to scourge and to crucify; {Gr. stauroo – Hang on a stake}; and the third day he shall rise again.

³² I AM the God of Abraham and the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living.

² and when they had bound him, they led him away and delivered him to Pontius Pilate the governor.

¹⁷ Therefore when they were gathered together, Pilate said unto them, Whom desire ye that I release unto you? Barabbas or Jesus who is called Christ? ¹⁸ For he knew that for envy they had delivered him. ¹⁹ When he was seated upon the judgment seat, his wife sent unto him, saying, Have thou nothing to do with that just man, for I have suffered many things this day in a dream because of him. ²⁰ But the princes of the priests and the elders persuaded the multitude that they should ask for Barabbas and destroy Jesus. ²¹ The governor answered and said unto them, Which of the two desire ye that I release unto you? They said, Barabbas. ²² Pilate said unto them, What shall I do then with Jesus who is called Christ? They all say unto him, Let him be crucified. ²³ And the governor said, Why, what evil has he done? But they cried out the more, saying, Let him be crucified. ²⁴ When Pilate saw that he could prevail nothing, but that rather a tumult was made, he took water and washed his hands before the multitude, saying, I am innocent of the blood of this just person; see ye to it. ²⁵ Then all the people answered and said, His blood be on us and on our children.

¹⁸ And Jesus came and spoke unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.

¹¹ But the princes of the priests moved the multitude that he should rather release Barabbas unto them.

⁴ Then said Pilate to the princes of the priests and to the people, I find no fault in this man.

¹⁶ I will therefore chastise him and release him. ¹⁷ (For of necessity he must release one unto them at the feast.) ¹⁸ And they cried out all at once, saying, Away with this man, and release unto us Barabbas ¹⁹ (who for a certain sedition made in the city and for murder was cast into prison). ²⁰ Pilate therefore, willing to release Jesus, spoke again to them. ²¹ But they cried, saying, crucify him, crucify him. {Gr. stauroo – hang him on a stake} ²² And he said unto them the third time, Why, what evil has he done? I have found no cause of death in him; I will therefore chastise him and let him go. ²³ And they insisted with loud voices, asking that he be crucified. And the voices of them and of the princes of the priests prevailed.

³⁵ The Father loves the Son and has given all things into his hand. ³⁶ He that believes in the Son has eternal life, and he that does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.

²² For the Father judges no man but has committed all judgment unto the Son ²³ that everyone should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He that does not honour the Son does not honour the Father who has sent him.

³⁹ (But this he spoke concerning the Spirit, which those that believe on him should receive, for the Holy Spirit was not yet given because Jesus was not yet glorified.)

¹⁶ His disciples did not understand these things at first, but when Jesus was glorified, then they remembered that these things were written of him and that they had done these things unto him.

³¹ ¶ Therefore, when he was gone out, Jesus said, Now is the Son of man clarified, and God is clarified in him. ³² If God is clarified in him, God shall also clarify him in himself and shall straightway clarify him.

¹⁴ He shall clarify me, for he shall take of that which is mine and shall cause you to know it. ¹⁵ All that the Father has is mine; therefore I said that he shall take of that which is mine and shall cause you to know it.

¹ ¶ Jesus spoke these words and lifted up his eyes to heaven and said, Father, the hour is come; clarify thy Son, that thy Son may also clarify thee, ² as thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him. ³ And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent. ⁴ I have clarified thee on the earth; I have finished the work which thou didst give me to do. ⁵ And now, O Father, clarify thou me with thine own self with that clarity which I had with thee before the world was.

⁴⁰ Then they all cried again, saying, Not this man, but Barabbas. Now Barabbas was a robber.

¹² And from then on Pilate sought to release him, but the Jews cried out, saying, If thou let this man go, thou art not Caesar’s friend; whosoever makes himself a king speaks against Caesar.

¹⁵ But they cried out, Away with him, away with him, crucify him. Pilate said unto them, Shall I crucify your King? The high priests answered, We have no king but Caesar.

²³ him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye have taken and by wicked hands have crucified and slain, ²⁴ whom God has raised up, having loosed the pains of death because it was not possible for him to be held by it.

³³ Therefore being raised up by the right hand of God and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, he has poured out this which ye now see and hear. ³⁴ For David did not ascend into the heavens, but he saith himself, The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand ³⁵ until I make thy foes thy footstool. ³⁶ Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly that God has made this same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.

³⁰ The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom ye slew, hanging him on a tree. ³¹ God has exalted him with his right hand as Prince and Saviour, to give repentance to Israel and forgiveness of sins.

³² saying, I am the God of thy fathers, the God of Abraham and the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob. Then Moses trembled and dared not to behold.

²⁷ For those that dwell at Jerusalem and their princes, because they knew him not nor yet the voices of the prophets who are read every sabbath day, they have fulfilled them in condemning him. ²⁸ And without finding cause of death in him, yet they asked Pilate that he should be slain.

¹⁴ And he said, The God of our fathers has chosen thee that thou should know his will and see that Just One and should hear the voice of his mouth.

²⁰ which operated in the Christ, raising him from the dead and setting him at his own right hand in the heavenly places, ²¹ far above all principality and power and might and dominion and every name that is named, not only in this age, but also in that which is to come, ²² And has put all things under his feet and gave him to be the head over all things to the congregation {Gr. ekklesia – called out ones}, ²³ which is his body, and he is the fullness of her: who fills all things in everyone.

⁹ Therefore, God also has highly exalted him and given him a name which is above every name, ¹⁰ that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven and things in earth and things under the earth, ¹¹ and that every tongue should confess that the Lord Jesus Christ is Lord in the glory of God the Father.

⁹ But we see this same Jesus, crowned with glory and honour, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.

⁹ By faith he sojourned in the promised land, as in a strange country, dwelling in booths with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise; ¹⁰ for he looked for a city which has foundations, whose builder and maker is God. ¹¹ By faith also Sara herself being sterile received strength to conceive seed and was delivered of a child when she was past age, because she believed him to be faithful who had promised. ¹² Therefore there sprang even of one, and him as good as dead, so many as the stars of the sky in multitude and as the sand which is by the sea shore innumerable. ¹³ These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but seeing them afar off and believing them and embracing them and confessing that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. ¹⁴ For those that say such things declare plainly that they seek their native country. ¹⁵ And truly, if they had been mindful of that country from which they came out, they might have had time to have returned. ¹⁶ But now they desire a better country, that is, a heavenly one; therefore, God is not ashamed to be called their God, for he has prepared for them a city.

⁵ and from Jesus, the Christ, who is the faithful witness and the first begotten of the dead and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us and washed us from our sins with his own blood

¹⁸ and he that lives and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen, and have the keys of Hades and of death.
