²² Ye men of Israel, hear these words: Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know,

¹⁴ Fear not, thou worm Jacob, ye dead of Israel; I will help thee, saith the LORD and thy Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel.

²³ and he came and dwelt in a city called Nazareth, that it might be fulfilled, which was spoken by the prophets, that he shall be called a Nazarene.

⁸ And the multitude, seeing it, marvelled and glorified God, who had given such power unto men.

² Now when John had heard in the prison the works of the Christ, he sent two of his disciples, ³ and said unto him, Art thou he that should come, or do we look for another? ⁴ Jesus answered and said unto them, Go and tell John those things which you hear and see: ⁵ The blind receive their sight, and the lame walk; the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear; the dead are raised up, and the poor have the gospel preached to them. ⁶ And blessed is he who is not offended in me.

²⁸ But if I cast out the demons by the Spirit of God, then certainly the kingdom of God is come unto you.

²⁰ When the men were come unto him, they said, John the Baptist has sent us unto thee, saying, Art thou he that should come? or look we for another? ²¹ And in that same hour he cured many of their infirmities and plagues and of evil spirits, and unto many that were blind he gave sight. ²² Then Jesus answering said unto them, Go and tell John the things ye have seen and heard: how the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, to the poor the gospel is preached; ²³ and blessed is whoever shall not be offended in me.

²⁰ But if I with the finger of God cast out the demons, certainly the kingdom of God is come upon you.

¹⁸ And one of them, whose name was Cleopas, answering said unto him, Art thou only a stranger in Jerusalem and hast not known the things which are come to pass there in these days?

⁴⁵ Philip found Nathanael and said unto him, We have found him of whom Moses in the law and the prophets wrote: Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.

⁴⁸ Then Jesus said unto him, Except ye see signs and wonders, ye will not believe.

¹⁷ ¶ But Jesus answered them, My Father works until now, and I work. ¹⁸ Therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only had broken the sabbath but also called God his own Father, making himself equal with God. ¹⁹ Then Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself but what he sees the Father do; for all that he does, this also the Son does together with him. ²⁰ For the Father loves the Son and shows him all the things that he does, and he will show him greater works than these that ye may marvel.

³⁶ But I have greater testimony than that of John; for the works which the Father has given me to finish, the same works that I do, bear witness of me that the Father has sent me.

¹⁴ Then those men, as they had seen the sign that Jesus did, said, This is of a truth the prophet that was to come into the world.

²⁷ Labour not for the food which perishes, but for the food which abides unto eternal life, which the Son of man shall give unto you, for him has God the Father sealed.

³¹ And many of the people believed in him and said, When the Christ comes, will he do more signs than these which this man has done?

³³ If this man were not of God, he could do nothing.

³⁷ If I do not do the works of my Father, do not believe me.

⁴⁰ Jesus said unto her, Did I not say unto thee that if thou wouldest believe thou shalt see the glory of God? ⁴¹ Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead was laid. And Jesus, lifting up his eyes, said, Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me. ⁴² And I knew that thou hearest me always, but because of the people who stand by I said it, that they may believe that thou hast sent me.

⁴⁷ Then the high priests and the Pharisees gathered a council and said, What shall we do? for this man does many signs.

¹⁷ The multitude, therefore, that was with him when he called Lazarus out of his grave and raised him from the dead, bore witness.

¹⁰ Believest thou not that I am in the Father and the Father in me? The words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself; but the Father that dwells in me, he does the works. ¹¹ Believe me that I am in the Father and the Father in me, or else believe me for the very works’ sake.

²⁴ If I had not done among them works which no other man has done, they would not have sin; but now they have seen them and hate both me and my Father.

¹⁹ ¶ And Pilate also wrote a title and put it above the cross {Gr. stauros – stake}. And the writing was, JESUS OF NAZARETH THE KING OF THE JEWS.

¹² ¶ And when Peter saw it, he answered unto the people, Ye men of Israel, why marvel ye at this? or why look ye so earnestly on us, as though by our own virtue or godliness we had made this man walk?

¹⁰ be it known unto you all and to all the people of Israel that in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him does this man stand here before you whole.

³⁵ and said unto them, Ye men of Israel, take heed to yourselves what ye intend to do as concerning these men.

¹⁴ for we have heard him say that this Jesus of Nazareth shall destroy this place and shall change the traditions which Moses delivered us.

³⁷ that word, I say, ye know, which was published throughout all Judaea and began from Galilee, after the baptism which John preached, ³⁸ how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all that were oppressed of the devil, for God was with him.

¹⁶ Then Paul stood up, and beckoning with his hand said, Men of Israel and ye that fear God hearken.

²⁷ And when they were come and had gathered the congregation {Gr. ekklesia – called out ones} together, they related what great things God had done with them and how he had opened the door of faith unto the Gentiles.

²⁸ crying out, Men of Israel, help; this is the man that teaches everyone everywhere against the people and the law and this place and further brought Greeks also into the temple and has polluted this holy place.

⁸ And I answered, Who art thou, Lord? And he said unto me, I Am Jesus of Nazareth, whom thou dost persecute.

⁵ For we have found this man a pestilent fellow and a mover of sedition among all the Jews throughout the world and prince of the seditious sect of the Nazarenes,

⁹ I verily had thought that I ought to do many things contrary to the name of Jesus of Nazareth.

²⁶ For the king knows of these things, before whom I also speak freely; for I am persuaded that none of these things are hidden from him, for this thing was not done in a corner.

¹² Truly the signs of the apostle were worked out among you in all patience, in signs and wonders and power.

⁴ God also bearing them witness, both with signs and wonders and with diverse miracles and gifts of the Holy Spirit, distributing them according to his own will?
