³⁰ And Cornelius said, Four days ago I was fasting until this hour; and at the ninth hour I prayed in my house, and, behold, a man stood before me in bright clothing

⁴ Then each one that trembled at the words of the God of Israel because of the transgression of those that had been carried away were assembled unto me; and I sat astonied until the evening sacrifice. ⁵ ¶ And at the evening sacrifice I arose up from my affliction; and having rent my garment and my mantle, I fell upon my knees and spread out my hands unto the LORD my God

¹ ¶ Now in the twenty-fourth day of this month, the sons of Israel were assembled with fasting and with sackcloth and earth upon them. ² And the seed of Israel had separated themselves from all strangers and stood and confessed their sins and the iniquities of their fathers. ³ And they stood up in their place and read in the book of the law of the LORD their God one fourth part of the day; and another fourth part they confessed and worshipped the LORD their God.

²⁰ ¶ And whiles I was speaking and praying, and confessing my sin and the sin of my people Israel and presenting my supplication before the LORD my God for the holy mountain of my God; ²¹ I was even yet speaking in prayer, and that man Gabriel, whom I had seen in the vision at the beginning, flying swiftly, touched me about the time of the evening sacrifice.

³ His countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow;

⁶ But he said unto them, Do not be frightened; Ye seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified; he is risen; he is not here; behold the place where they laid him.

⁴ And it came to pass as they were much perplexed thereabout, behold, two men stood by them in shining garments;

¹⁰ And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel,

¹ ¶ Now Peter and John went up together into the temple at the hour of prayer, being the ninth hour.

³ He saw in a vision evidently about the ninth hour of the day an angel of God coming in to him and saying unto him, Cornelius.

⁷ And when the angel who spoke unto Cornelius was departed, he called two of his household servants and a devout soldier of those that waited on him continually; ⁸ and when he had declared all these things unto them, he sent them to Joppa. ⁹ ¶ On the morrow, as they went on their journey and drew near unto the city, Peter went up upon the housetop to pray about the sixth hour;

²³ Then he called them in and lodged them. And on the morrow Peter went away with them, and certain brethren from Joppa accompanied him. ²⁴ And the next day they entered into Caesarea. And Cornelius waited for them and had called together his kinsmen and near friends.
