⁶ know now that Elohah twisted me and surrounded me with his lair.

²⁰ I sinned; what do I to you, O you guardian of humanity? Why set me as a target against you, so that I am a burden to myself?

¹¹ El shuts me to the pervert and hurls me to the hands of the wicked. ¹² I am serene, and he breaks me; and he takes me by my neck and shatters me; he raises me for his target; ¹³ his archers surround me; he cleaves my reins and spares not; he pours out my bitters on the earth; ¹⁴ he breaches me at the face of breach on breach; he runs on me as the mighty.

⁸ For he is sent into a net by his own feet and he walks on a netting; ⁹ the snare holds him by the heel and the robber prevails against him; ¹⁰ his cord is hidden in the earth - his trap in the path.

² El lives - who turns aside my judgment; and Shadday - who embitters my soul:

⁹ Yes, you cast us off and shame us; you come not forth with our hosts: ¹⁰ You turn us back from the tribulator; and they who hate us despoil for themselves: ¹¹ as a flock, you give us for food; and winnow us among the goyim: ¹² you sell your people for naught and abound not by their price: ¹³ you set us a reproach to our fellow tabernaclers; a derision and a ridicule to them all around us: ¹⁴ you set us a proverb among the goyim - a shaking of the head among the nations:

¹⁰ For you, O Elohim, proof us; you refine us as refined silver; ¹¹ you bring us to the stronghold; you set oppression on our loins; ¹² you ride men over our heads: we go through fire and water; but you bring us out satiated.

¹² Is it naught to you, all you who pass by the way? Look and see if there be any sorrow like to the sorrow exploited to me - wherewith Yah Veh afflicted me in the day of his fuming wrath. ¹³ From above the heights he sends fire into my bones to subjugate; he spreads a net for my feet; he turns me back; he gives me desolation and bleeding all the day:

¹³ and I spread my net on him, and apprehend him in my lure: and I bring him to Babel to the land of the Kesediym; yet he sees it not, though he dies there:

³ Thus says Adonay Yah Veh: And I spread my net over you with a congregation of many people; and they ascend you in my net:

¹² they go, and I spread my net over them; I bring them down as the flyers of the heavens; I discipline them as reported to their witness.
