Numbers 22:1-25

1
BALAQ AND BILAM
And the sons of Yisra El pull stakes and encamp in the plains of Moab on this side Yarden by Yericho. 2 And Balaq the son of Sippor sees all Yisra El works to the Emoriy. 3 And Moab is mighty afraid at the face of the people, because they are many: and Moab abhors the face of the sons of Yisra El. 4 And Moab says to the elders of Midyan, Now this congregation licks up all who are all around us as the ox licks the green of the field. And Balaq the son of Sippor is sovereign of Moab at that time. 5 He sends angels to Bilam the son of Beor to Pethor, by the river of the land of the sons of his people, to call him, saying, Behold, a people comes from Misrayim: and behold, they cover the eye of the earth and they settle in front of me: 6 go now therefore, I beseech you, curse me this people; for they are too mighty for me: perhaps I prevail to smite them - to drive them from the land: for I know that whom you bless is blessed and whom you curse is cursed. 7 And the elders of Moab and the elders of Midyan go with the divination in their hand; and they come to Bilam and word the words of Balaq to him. 8 And he says to them, Stay here overnight and I return word to you as Yah Veh words to me. - and the governors of Moab settle with Bilam. 9 And Elohim comes to Bilam and says, Who are these men with you? 10 And Bilam says to Elohim, Balaq the son of Sippor sovereign of Moab sends for me: 11 behold, a people comes from Misrayim, who cover the eye of the earth: go now, curse them for me; perhaps I prevail to fight them and expel them. 12 And Elohim says to Bilam, Go not with them. Curse not the people: for they are blessed. 13 And Bilam rises in the morning and says to the governors of Balaq, Go to your land: for Yah Veh refuses to allow me to go with you. 14 And the governors of Moab rise and go to Balaq and say, Bilam refuses to come with us. 15 And Balaq adds yet to send governors, greater and more honorable than they: 16 and they come to Bilam, and say to him, Thus says Balaq the son of Sippor, Let naught, I beseech you, hinder you from coming to me: 17 for in honoring, I honor you mightily and I work whatever you say to me: go, I beseech you, curse this people for me. 18 And Bilam answers and says to the servants of Balaq, If Balaq give me his house full of silver and gold, I cannot trespass the mouth of Yah Veh my Elohim, to work less or greater: 19 and now, I beseech you, settle you also here this night, so that I know what Yah Veh adds to word to me. 20
BILAM AND THE ANGEL OF YAH VEH
And Elohim comes to Bilam at night and says to him, If the men come to call you, rise and go with them; and work the word I word to you. 21 And Bilam rises in the morning and harnesses his she burro and goes with the governors of Moab: 22 and Elohim kindles his wrath, because he goes: and the angel of Yah Veh stands in the way - a satan against him: and he rides his she burro and with his two lads. 23 And the she burro sees the angel of Yah Veh stationed in the way with his sword drawn in his hand: and the she burro deviates from the way and goes into the field. - and Bilam smites the she burro to deviate her into the way. 24 And the angel of Yah Veh stands in a path of the vineyards - a wall on this side and a wall on that side: 25 and the she burro sees the angel of Yah Veh and she presses to the wall and presses the foot of Bilam against the wall: - and he smites her again.

Deuteronomy 23:4-5

4 for word that they anticipated you not with bread and with water in the way, when you came from Misrayim; and because they hired Bilam the son of Beor of Pethor of Aram Naharaim against you to abase you: 5 and Yah Veh your Elohim willed to not hearken to Bilam; but Yah Veh your Elohim turned the abasement to a blessing to you, because Yah Veh your Elohim loved you:

26 And the sovereign of Moab sees the war is too strong for him, and he takes with him seven hundred men who draw swords to split through to the sovereign of Edom: and they are not able. 27 And he takes his son - his firstbirthed who reigns in his stead and holocausts him for a holocaust on the wall: and there is great rage against Yisra El: and they pull stakes from him and return to their land.

THE BURDEN OF MOAB
The burden of Moab: Because in a night Ar of Moab is ravaged and rendered mute; because in a night Qir of Moab is ravaged and rendered mute: 2 he ascends to Bayith and to Dibon - to the bamahs, weeping: Moab howls over Nebo and over Medeba - baldness on all their heads - every beard cut off. 3 In their outways they gird with sackcloth: on their roofs and in their broadways every one howls - descending into weeping abundantly. 4 And Heshbon cries, and El Aleh: their voice is heard to Yahsah: so the equipped of Moab shout; his soul trembles. 5 My heart is toward Moab; his fugitives cry out to Soar, an heifer of three: for by the ascent of Luchith they ascend with weeping; for in the way of Horonayim they waken a cry of breaking. 6 For the waters of Nimrim are desolations: for the hay withers away, the sprout finishes off; there is no green. 7 So the abundance they worked and what they mustered they bear away to the wadi of the willows. 8 For the cry goes around the borders of Moab - the howling to Eglayim and the howling to Beerelim: 9 for the waters of Dimon fill with blood: for I place additions upon Dimon - lions upon the escapees of Moab and upon the survivors of the soil.

Isaiah 25:10

10 For in this mountain the hand of Yah Veh rests; and Moab is threshed under him even as straw is threshed in the water of the dunghill:

Jeremiah 48:1-47

MESSAGE AGAINST MOAB
Against Moab: Thus says Yah Veh Sabaoth Elohim of Yisra El; Ho, Nebo! for it is ravaged: Qiryathaim is shamed and captured: the secure loft is shamed and dismayed. 2 The halal of Moab is no more: in Heshbon they fabricated evil against it. Come, and we cut it off from a goyim. Also you, O Madmen, are severed; the sword goes after you. 3 A voice of crying from Horonaim - ravage and great breaking. 4 Moab is broken; her little ones cry a cry to be heard. 5 For in the ascent of Luchith, in weeping, weeping ascends; for in the descent of Horonaim the tribulators hear a cry of breaking. 6 Flee! Rescue your souls! Become as the naked tree in the wilderness. 7 For, because you confide in your works and in your treasures, you also are captured: and Kemosh goes into exile together with his priests and his governors. 8 And the ravager comes on every city and no city escapes: and the valley destructs and the plain desolates, as Yah Veh said. 9 Give wings to Moab to flee and get away: for the cities thereof desolate without any to settle therein. 10 Cursed - he who works the work of Yah Veh deceitfully: and cursed - he who withholds his sword from blood. 11 Moab relaxes from his youth and rests on his dregs - neither poured out from instrument to instrument nor gone into exile: so his taste stands within him and his scent changes not. 12 So behold, days come, - an oracle of Yah Veh that I send him strollers who have him stroll, and pour his instruments and shatter his bags. 13 And Moab shames because of Kemosh, as the house of Yisra El shamed of Beth El their confidence. 14 How say you, We are mighty and valiant men for the war? 15 Moab is ravaged and ascends her cities; and his chosen youths descend to the slaughter - an oracle of the Sovereign whose name is Yah Veh Sabaoth. 16 The calamity of Moab is near to come and his evil hastens mightily. 17 All you who are all around him, wag over him; and all you who know his name, say, How the rod of strength is broken - the staff of adornment! 18 You, daughter who settles in Dibon, descend from your honor, and settle in thirst; for the ravager of Moab ascends on you; he ruins your fortresses. 19 O settler of Aroer, stand by the way, and watch; ask him who flees; and she who escapes; and say, What becomes? 20 Moab shames; for it is broken down. Howl and cry! Tell it in Arnon, that Moab is ravaged: 21 and judgment comes on the plain land - on Holon and on Yahsah and on Mephaath, 22 and on Dibon and on Nebo and on Beth Diblathayim 23 and on Qiryathaim and on Beth Gamul and on Beth Meon 24 and on Qerioth and on Bozrah and on all the cities of the land of Moab far or near. 25 The horn of Moab is cut off and his arm broken - an oracle of Yah Veh. 26 Intoxicate him: for he greatens against Yah Veh: Moab also slurps in his own vomit and he also is ridiculed. 27 For was not Yisra El a ridicule to you? Was he found among thieves? For since your sufficient words, you sway for joy. 28 O you who settle in Moab, leave the cities; and tabernacle in the rock: and be as the dove who nests in the sides of the mouth of the pit. 29 We hear the pomp of Moab - mighty pompous - his haughtiness and his pomp - his pomp and the haughtiness of his heart. 30 I know his wrath - an oracle of Yah Veh but it is not thus; his lies work not thus. 31 So I howl for Moab, and I cry for all Moab - meditate for the men of Qir Hareseth. 32 O vine of Sibmah, I weep for you with the weeping of Yazer: your tendrils pass over the sea; they touch to the sea of Yazer: the ravager falls on your summer fruits and on your crop: 33 and cheerfulness and twirling are gathered from the orchard/Karmel and from the land of Moab; and I shabbathize the wine from the troughs: no one treads with shouting; in shouting, they shout not. 34 From the cry of Heshbon to El Aleh; and to Yahsah they give their voice: from Soar to Horonaim, a heifer of three: for even the waters of Nimrim become desolations: 35 and I shabbathize in Moab - an oracle of Yah Veh he who holocausts in the bamahs, and he who incenses to his elohim. 36 So my heart roars for Moab as pipes; and my heart roars as pipes for the men of Qir Hareseth: because the riches he worked are destroyed. 37 For every head baldens, and every beard diminishes: on all the hands, incisions, and on the loins, saq: 38 and chopping for all on all the roofs of Moab and in the broadways: for I break Moab as an instrument wherein is no pleasure - an oracle of Yah Veh. 39 They howl, How it is broken! How Moab faces the neck shamed! And Moab becomes a ridicule and a ruin to all all around him. 40 For thus says Yah Veh; Behold, he flies as an eagle and spreads his wings over Moab. 41 Qerioth is captured, and the huntholds apprehended; and at that day, the hearts of the mighty in Moab become as the heart of a woman in her tribulating: 42 and Moab, as a people, desolates because he greatens himself against Yah Veh. 43 Fear and the pit and the snare snare on you, O settler of Moab - an oracle of Yah Veh. 44 He who flees from the face of fear falls into the pit; and he who ascends from the pit is captured in the snare: for I bring thereon - on Moab, the year of their visitation - an oracle of Yah Veh. 45 They who flee stand under the shadow of Heshbon because of the force: for a fire comes from Heshbon and a flame from within Sichon and consumes the edge of Moab, and the scalp of the sons of uproar. 46 Woe to you, O Moab! the people of Kemosh destruct: for your sons are taken with the captives and your daughters with the captivity. 47 And I restore the captivity of Moab in the latter days - an oracle of Yah Veh. This is the judgment of Moab.

Ezekiel 25:8-9

THE WORD OF YAH VEH CONCERNING MOAB AND SEIR

8 I hear the reproach of Moab and the revilings of the sons of Ammon - whereby they reproach my people, and greaten against their border: 9 so, I live - an oracle of Yah Veh Sabaoth Elohim of Yisra El. Surely Moab is as Sedom and the sons of Ammon as Amorah - the possession of nettles and saltpits - an eternal desolation: the survivors of my people plunder them and the remnant of my goyim inherit them.
