¹ A psalm for Asaph. The God of gods, the Lord hath spoken: and he hath called the earth. From the rising of the sun, to the going down thereof:

¹ And after he began to be ninety and nine years old, the Lord appeared to him: and said unto him: I am the Almighty God: walk before me, and be perfect.

²² The Lord the most mighty God, the Lord the most mighty God, he knoweth, and Israel also shall understand: If with the design of transgression we have set up this altar, let him not save us, but punish us immediately:

²¹ And Elias coming to all the people, said: How long do you halt between two sides? If the Lord be God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him. And the people did not answer him a word.

³⁶ And when it was now time to offer the holocaust, Elias, the prophet, came near and said: O Lord God of Abraham, and Isaac, and Israel, shew this day that thou art the God of Israel, and I thy servant, and that according to thy commandment I have done all these things. ³⁷ Dear me, O Lord, hear me: that this people may learn that thou art the Lord God, and that thou hast turned their heart again.

¹⁷ And they appointed Levites, Hemam the son of Joel, and of his brethren Asaph the son of Barachias: and of the sons of Merari, their brethren: Ethan the son of Casaia.

³⁷ So he left there before the ark of the covenant of the Lord, Asaph and his brethren to minister in the presence of the ark continually day by day, and in their courses.

² Of the sons of Asaph: Zacchur, and Joseph, and Nathania, and Asarela, sons of Asaph: under the hand of Asaph prophesying near the king.

⁶ All these under their father's hand were distributed to sing in the temple of the Lord, with cymbals, and psalteries and harps, for the service of the house of the Lord near the king: to wit, Asaph, and Idithun, and Heman.

³⁰ And Ezechias and the princes commanded the Levites to praise the Lord with the words of David, and Asaph the seer: and they praised him with great joy, and bowing the knee adored.

⁶ Thou thyself, O Lord alone, thou hast made heaven, and the heaven of heavens, and all the host thereof: the earth and all things that are in it: the seas and all that are therein: and thou givest life to all these things, and the host of heaven adoreth thee.

³² Now therefore our God, great, strong, and terrible, who keepest covenant and mercy, turn not away from thy face all the labour which hath come upon us, upon our kings, and our princes, and our priests, and our prophets, and our fathers, and all the people from the days of the king of Assur, until this day.

¹ Unto the end, a psalm for the sons of Core. ^(49:2) Hear these things, all ye nations: give ear, all ye inhabitants of the world. ^{2 (49:3)} All you that are earthborn, and you sons of men: both rich and poor together.

¹ A canticle of a psalm for Asaph. ^(83:2) O God, who shall be like to thee? hold not thy peace, neither be thou still, O God.

³ From the rising of the sun unto the going down of the same, the name of the Lord is worthy of praise.

³ Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised: and of his greatness there is no end. ⁴ Generation and generation shall praise thy works: and they shall declare thy power. ⁵ They shall speak of the magnificence of the glory of thy holiness: and shall tell thy wondrous works. ⁶ And they shall speak of the might of thy terrible acts: and shall declare thy greatness.

² Hear, O ye heavens, and give ear, O earth, for the Lord hath spoken. I have brought up children, and exalted them: but they have despised me.

⁶ For a CHILD IS BORN to us, and a son is given to us, and the government is upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, God the Mighty, the Father of the world to come, the Prince of Peace.

²⁰ And now, O Lord our God, save us out of his hand: and let all the kingdoms of the earth know, that thou only art the Lord.

⁵ For he that made thee shall rule over thee, the Lord of hosts is his name: and thy Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel, shall be called the God of all the earth.

⁶ There is none like to thee, O Lord: thou art great, and great is thy name in might.

¹⁸ Thou shewest mercy unto thousands, and returnest the iniquity of the fathers into the bosom of their children after them: O most mighty, great, and powerful, the Lord of hosts is thy name. ¹⁹ Great in counsel, and incomprehensible in thought: whose eyes are open upon all the ways of the children of Adam, to render unto every one according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his devices.

⁸ The lion shall roar, who will not fear? The Lord God hath spoken, who shall not prophesy?

¹¹ For from the rising of the sun even to the going down, my name is great among the Gentiles, and in every place there is sacrifice, and there is offered to my name a clean oblation: for my name is great among the Gentiles, saith the Lord of hosts.

³² And all nations shall be gathered together before him: and he shall separate them one from another, as the shepherd separateth the sheep from the goats:
