⁹ The thought of a fool is sin: and the detractor is the abomination of men.

⁵ And God seeing that the wickedness of men was great on the earth, and that all the thought of their heart was bent upon evil at all times,

²¹ And the Lord smelled a sweet savour, and said: I will no more curse the earth for the sake of man: for the imagination and thought of man's heart are prone to evil from his youth: therefore I will no more destroy every living soul as I have done.

¹¹³ I have hated the unjust: and have loved thy law.

¹⁰ Cast out the scoffer, and contention shall go out with him, and quarrels and reproaches shall cease.

⁷ Because, like a soothsayer, and diviner, he thinketh that which he knoweth not. Eat and drink, will he say to thee: and his mind is not with thee.

⁸ He that deviseth to do evils, shall be called a fool.

⁸ Corrupt men bring a city to ruin: but wise men turn away wrath.

⁷ Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unjust man his thoughts, and let him return to the Lord, and he will have mercy on him, and to our God: for he is bountiful to forgive.

¹⁴ Wash thy heart from wickedness, O Jerusalem, that thou mayst be saved: how long shall hurtful thoughts abide in thee?

²⁸ But I say to you, that whosoever shall look on a woman to lust after her, hath already committed adultery with her in his heart.

⁴ And Jesus seeing their thoughts, said: Why do you think evil in your hearts?

¹⁹ For from the heart come forth evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false testimonies, blasphemies.

²² Do penance therefore for this thy wickedness: and pray to God, that perhaps this thought of thy heart may be forgiven thee.

⁵ And every height that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God: and bringing into captivity every understanding unto the obedience of Christ:
