⁴ Since thou becamest honourable in my eyes, thou art glorious: I have loved thee, and I will give men for thee, and people for thy life.

² And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and magnify thy name, and thou shalt be blessed.

⁵ If therefore you will hear my voice, and keep my covenant, you shall be my peculiar possession above all people: for all the earth is mine. ⁶ And you shall be to me a priestly kingdom, and a holy nation. These are the words thou shalt speak to the children of Israel.

⁶ Because thou art a holy people to the Lord thy God. The Lord thy God hath chosen thee, to be his peculiar people of all peoples that are upon the earth. ⁷ Not because you surpass all nations in number, is the Lord joined unto you, and hath chosen you, for you are the fewest of any people: ⁸ But because the Lord hath loved you, and hath kept his oath, which he swore to your fathers: and hath brought you out with a strong hand, and redeemed you from the house of bondage, out of the hand of Pharao the king of Egypt.

² Because thou art a holy people to the Lord thy God: and he chose thee to be his peculiar people of all nations that are upon the earth.

¹⁸ And the Lord hath chosen thee this day, to be his peculiar people, as he hath spoken to thee, and to keep all his commandments:

⁹ But the Lord's portion is his people: Jacob the lot of his inheritance. ¹⁰ He found him in a desert land, in a place of horror, and of vast wilderness: he led him about, and taught him: and he kept him as the apple of his eye. ¹¹ As the eagle enticing her young to fly, and hovering over them, he spread his wings, and hath taken him and carried him on his shoulders. ¹² The Lord alone was his leader: and there was no strange god with him. ¹³ He set him upon high land: that he might eat the fruits of the fields, that he might suck honey out of the rock, and oil out of the hardest stone, ¹⁴ Butter of the herd, and milk of the sheep with the fat of lambs, and of the rams of the breed of Basan: and goats with the marrow of wheat, and might drink the purest blood of the grape.

⁹ He hath distributed, he hath given to the poor: his justice remaineth for ever and ever: his horn shall be exalted in glory.

⁴ For the Lord hath chosen Jacob unto himself: Israel for his own possession.

⁹ In all their affliction he was not troubled, and the angel of his presence saved them: in his love, and in his mercy he redeemed them, and he carried them and lifted them up all the days of old.

³ The Lord hath appeared from afar to me. Yea I have loved thee with an everlasting love, therefore have I drawn thee, taking pity on thee.

¹ As the morning passeth, so hath the king of Israel passed away. Because Israel was a child, and I loved him: and I called my son out of Egypt.

² I have loved you, saith the Lord: and you have said: Wherein hast thou loved us? Was not Esau brother to Jacob, saith the Lord, and I have loved Jacob,

¹⁷ And they shall be my special possession, saith the Lord of hosts, in the day that I do judgment: and I will spare them, as a man spareth his son that serveth him.

⁴⁴ How can you believe, who receive glory one from another: and the glory which is from God alone, you do not seek?

²⁷ For the Father himself loveth you, because you have loved me and have believed that I came out from God.

²³ I in them, and thou in me: that they may be made perfect in one: and the world may know that thou hast sent me and hast loved them, as thou hast also loved me.

²⁶ And I have made known thy name to them and will make it known: that the love wherewith thou hast loved me may be in them, and I in them.

¹⁴ Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity and might cleanse to himself a people acceptable, a pursuer of good works.

⁷ That the trial of your faith (much more precious than gold which is tried by the fire) may be found unto praise and glory and honour at the appearing of Jesus Christ.

⁹ But you are a chosen generation, a kingly priesthood, a holy nation, a purchased people: that you may declare his virtues, who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light:

⁹ Behold, I will bring of the synagogue of Satan, who say they are Jews and are not, but do lie. Behold, I will make them to come and adore before thy feet. And they shall know that I have loved thee.
