²³ And drawing nigh, he said: Wilt thou destroy the just with the wicked?

²⁵ Far be it from thee to do this thing, and to slay the just with the wicked, and for the just to be in like case as the wicked; this is not beseeming thee: thou who judgest all the earth, wilt not make this judgment.

⁴ Now Abimelech had not touched her, and he said: Lord, wilt thou slay a nation that is ignorant and just?

²² They fell flat on their face, and said: O most mighty, the God of the spirits of all flesh, for one man's sin shall thy wrath rage against all?

¹⁷ And David said to the Lord, when he saw the angel striking the people: It is I; I am he that have sinned, I have done wickedly: these that are the sheep, what have they done? let thy hand, I beseech thee, be turned against me, and against my father's house.

³ Doth God pervert judgment, or doth the Almighty overthrow that which is just?

¹⁷ Can he be healed that loveth not judgment? and how dost thou so far condemn him that is just?

²¹ And their leader shall be of themselves: and their prince shall come forth from the midst of them: and I will bring him near, and he shall come to me: for who is this that setteth his heart to approach to me, saith the Lord?

⁵ But if our injustice commend the justice of God, what shall we say? Is God unjust, who executeth wrath? ⁶ (I speak according to man.) God forbid! Otherwise how shall God judge this world?

²² Let us draw near with a true heart, in fulness of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with clean water.
