²⁸ And he said to them: you know how abominable it is for a man that is a Jew to keep company or to come unto one of another nation: but God hath shewed to me, to call no man common or unclean.

⁵ That say: Depart from me, come not near me, because thou art unclean: these shall be smoke in my anger, a fire burning all the day.

³⁴ And Peter opening his mouth, said: in very deed I perceive that God is not a respecter of persons. ³⁵ But in every nation, he that feareth him and worketh justice is acceptable to him.

⁹ And the voice answered again from heaven: What God hath made clean, do not thou call common.

⁸ And God, who knoweth the hearts, gave testimony, giving unto them the Holy Ghost, as well as to us: ⁹ And put no difference between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith.

²¹ And he said to me: Go, for unto the Gentiles afar off will I send thee. ²² And they heard him until this word and then lifted up their voice, saying: Away with such an one from the earth. For it is not fit that he should live.

¹² For before that some came from James, he did eat with the Gentiles: but when they were come, he withdrew and separated himself, fearing them who were of the circumcision. ¹³ And to his dissimulation the rest of the Jews consented: so that Barnabas also was led by them into that dissimulation. ¹⁴ But when I saw that they walked not uprightly unto the truth of the gospel, I said to Cephas before them all: If thou, being a Jew, livest after the manner of the Gentiles and not as the Jews do, how dost thou compel the Gentiles to live as do the Jews?

⁶ That the Gentiles should be fellow heirs and of the same body: and copartners of his promise in Christ Jesus, by the gospel ⁷ Of which I am made a minister, according to the gift of the grace of God, which is given to me according to the operation of his power.
