¹⁰ Wherefore, brethren, labour the more, that by good works you may make sure your calling and election. For doing these things, you shall not sin at any time.

⁵ He that hath not put out his money to usury, nor taken bribes against the innocent: He that doth these things, shall not be moved for ever.

²⁴ When he shall fall he shall not be bruised, for the Lord putteth his hand under him.

⁶ Because he shall not be moved for ever.

³ May he not suffer thy foot to be moved: neither let him slumber that keepeth thee.

² Blessed is the man that doth this, and the son of man that shall lay hold on this: that keepeth the sabbath from profaning it, that keepeth his hands from doing any evil.

⁸ Rejoice not, thou my enemy, over me, because I am fallen: I shall arise, when I sit in darkness, the Lord is my light.

²⁴ Every one therefore that heareth these my words, and doth them, shall be likened to a wise man that built his house upon a rock, ²⁵ And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and they beat upon that house, and it fell not, for it was founded on a rock.

⁴⁷ Every one that cometh to me and heareth my words and doth them, I will shew you to whom he is like. ⁴⁸ He is like to a man building a house, who digged deep and laid the foundation upon a rock. And when a flood came, the stream beat vehemently upon that house: and it could not shake it: for it was founded on a rock. ⁴⁹ But he that heareth and doth not is like to a man building his house upon the earth without a foundation: against which the stream beat vehemently. And immediately it fell: and the ruin of that house was great.

²⁴ But I fear none of these things, neither do I count my life more precious than myself, so that I may consummate my course and the ministry of the word which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God. ²⁵ And now behold, I know that all you, among whom I have gone preaching the kingdom of God, shall see my face no more.

²⁸ And we know that to them that love God all things work together unto good: to such as, according to his purpose, are called to be saints. ²⁹ For whom he foreknew, he also predestinated to be made conformable to the image of his Son: that he might be the Firstborn amongst many brethren. ³⁰ And whom he predestinated, them he also called. And whom he called, them he also justified. And whom he justified, them he also glorified. ³¹ What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who is against us?

³ Being mindful of the work of your faith and labour and charity: and of the enduring of the hope of our Lord Jesus Christ before God and our Father. ⁴ Knowing, brethren, beloved of God, your election:

^{13 (2:12)} But we ought to give thanks to God always for you, brethren, beloved of God, for that God hath chosen you firstfruits unto salvation, in sanctification of the spirit and faith of the truth: ^{14 (2:13)} Whereunto also he hath called you by our gospel, unto the purchasing of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

¹⁹ But the sure foundation of God standeth firm, having this seal: the Lord knoweth who are his; and let every one depart from iniquity who nameth the name of the Lord.

¹¹ And we desire that every one of you shew forth the same carefulness to the accomplishing of hope unto the end:

¹⁹ Which we have as an anchor of the soul, sure and firm, and which entereth in even within the veil:

² According to the foreknowledge of God the Father, unto the sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ. Grace unto you and peace be multiplied.

⁵ Who, by the power of God, are kept by faith unto salvation, ready to be revealed in the last time.

⁵ And you, employing all care, minister in your faith, virtue: And in virtue, knowledge:

¹⁷ You therefore, brethren, knowing these things before, take heed, lest being led aside by the error of the unwise, you fall from your own steadfastness.

¹⁹ In this we know that we are of the truth and in his sight shall persuade our hearts. ²⁰ For if our heart reprehend us, God is greater than our heart and knoweth all things. ²¹ Dearly beloved, if our heart do not reprehend us, we have confidence towards God.

¹⁰ Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I will also keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon the whole world to try them that dwell upon the earth. ¹¹ Behold, I come quickly: hold fast that which thou hast, that no man take thy crown.

¹⁴ Blessed are they that wash their robes in the blood of the Lamb: that they may have a right to the tree of life and may enter in by the gates into the city.
