¹ Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to the strangers dispersed through Pontus, Cappadocia, Asia and Bithynia, elect, ² According to the foreknowledge of God the Father, unto the sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ. The grass is withered and the flower thereof is fallen away. ²⁵ But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel hath been preached unto you.

¹⁵ I will put enmities between thee and the woman, and thy seed and her seed: she shall cursh thy head, and thou shalt lie in wait for her heel.

⁴⁴ But in the days of those kingdoms, the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that shall never by destroyed, and his kingdom shall not be delivered up to another people: and it shall break in pieces, and shall consume all these kingdoms: and itself shall stand for ever.

^{63 (6:64)} It is the spirit that quickeneth: the flesh profiteth nothing. The words that I have spoken to you are spirit and life.

³⁵ The Jews therefore said among themselves: Whither will he go, that we shall not find him? Will he go unto the dispersed among the Gentiles and teach the Gentiles?
