³⁹ And when David had heard that Nabal was dead, he said: Blessed be the Lord, who hath judged the cause of my reproach, at the hand of Nabal, and hath kept his servant from evil, and the Lord hath returned the wickedness of Nabal upon his head. Then David sent and treated with Abigail, that he might take her to himself for a wife.

² O you of Israel, that have willingly offered your lives to danger, bless the Lord.

⁴⁷ The Lord liveth, and my God is blessed: and the strong God of my salvation shall be exalted: ⁴⁸ God who giveth me revenge, and bringest down people under me, ⁴⁹ Who bringest me forth from my enemies, and liftest me up from them that resist me: from the wicked man thou shalt deliver me.

⁴⁴ And the king said to Semei: Thou knowest all the evil, of which thy heart is conscious, which thou didst to David, my father: the Lord hath returned thy wickedness upon thy own head.

²³ And may the God of peace himself sanctify you in all things: that your whole spirit and soul and body may be preserved blameless in the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

¹⁸ The Lord hath delivered me from every evil work and will preserve me unto his heavenly kingdom. To whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
