¹ Better is a poor [man] that walketh in his integrity, than he that is perverse in his lips, and is a fool.

¹⁷ And now know and consider what thou wilt do, for evil is determined against our master, and against all his household; and he is such a son of Belial, that one cannot speak to him.

²⁵ Let not my lord, I pray thee, regard this man of Belial, Nabal; for as his name is, so is he: Nabal is his name, and folly is with him; and I thy handmaid did not see the young men of my lord, whom thou didst send.

¹¹ But as for me, I will walk in mine integrity. Redeem me, and be gracious unto me.

²⁶ all the day he is gracious and lendeth, and his seed shall be a blessing.

²⁶ The righteous guideth his neighbour; but the way of the wicked misleadeth them.

² He that walketh in his uprightness feareth Jehovah; but he that is perverted in his ways despiseth him.

¹⁶ Better is little with the fear of Jehovah than great store and disquietude therewith.

⁸ Better is a little with righteousness, than great revenues without right.

²² The charm of a man is his kindness; and a poor [man] is better than a liar.

⁷ The righteous walketh in his integrity: blessed are his children after him!

³ For your hands are stained with blood, and your fingers with iniquity; your lips speak lies, your tongue muttereth unrighteousness:

³¹ For this reason I say unto you, Every sin and injurious speaking shall be forgiven to men, but speaking injuriously of the Spirit shall not be forgiven to men. ³² And whosoever shall have spoken a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him; but whosoever shall speak against the Holy Spirit, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this age nor in the coming [one]. ³³ Either make the tree good, and its fruit good; or make the tree corrupt, and its fruit corrupt. For from the fruit the tree is known. ³⁴ Offspring of vipers! how can ye speak good things, being wicked? For of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.

²⁶ For what does a man profit, if he should gain the whole world and suffer the loss of his soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?

⁵ Hear, my beloved brethren: Has not God chosen the poor as to the world, rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom, which he has promised to them that love him? ⁶ But *ye* have despised the poor [man]. Do not the rich oppress you, and [do not] *they* drag you before [the] tribunals?
