¹ And it came to pass when Jesus had finished commanding his twelve disciples, he departed thence to teach and preach in their cities.

¹ The Spirit of the Lord Jehovah is upon me, because Jehovah hath anointed me to announce glad tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the broken-hearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and opening of the prison to them that are bound; ² to proclaim the acceptable year of Jehovah, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn; ³ to appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, that beauty should be given unto them instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, the garment of praise instead of the spirit of heaviness: that they might be called terebinths of righteousness, the planting of Jehovah, that he may be glorified.

²³ And [Jesus] went round the whole [of] Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the glad tidings of the kingdom, and healing every disease and every bodily weakness among the people.

²⁸ And it came to pass, when Jesus had finished these words, the crowds were astonished at his doctrine,

³⁸ And he says to them, Let us go elsewhere into the neighbouring country towns, that I may preach there also, for for this purpose am I come forth. ³⁹ And he was preaching in their synagogues in the whole of Galilee, and casting out demons.

¹⁵ and *he* taught in their synagogues, being glorified of all. ¹⁶ And he came to Nazareth, where he was brought up; and he entered, according to his custom, into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up to read. ¹⁷ And [the] book of the prophet Esaias was given to him; and having unrolled the book he found the place where it was written, ¹⁸ [The] Spirit of [the] Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to preach glad tidings to [the] poor; he has sent me to preach to captives deliverance, and to [the] blind sight, to send forth [the] crushed delivered, ¹⁹ to preach [the] acceptable year of [the] Lord. ²⁰ And having rolled up the book, when he had delivered it up to the attendant, he sat down; and the eyes of all in the synagogue were fixed upon him. ²¹ And he began to say to them, To-day this scripture is fulfilled in your ears.

¹ And it came to pass afterwards that *he* went through [the country] city by city, and village by village, preaching and announcing the glad tidings of the kingdom of God; and the twelve [were] with him,

¹⁰ If ye shall keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love, as I have kept my Father`s commandments and abide in his love.

¹⁴ Ye are my friends if ye practise whatever I command you.

² until that day in which, having by the Holy Spirit charged the apostles whom he had chosen, he was taken up;

³⁸ Jesus who [was] of Nazareth: how God anointed him with [the] Holy Spirit and with power; who went through [all quarters] doing good, and healing all that were under the power of the devil, because God was with him.

⁴² And he commanded us to preach to the people, and to testify that *he* it is who was determinately appointed of God [to be] judge of living and dead.

² For ye know what charges we gave you through the Lord Jesus.

⁶ Now we enjoin you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye withdraw from every brother walking disorderly and not according to the instruction which he received from us.

¹⁰ For also when we were with you we enjoined you this, that if any man does not like to work, neither let him eat.

¹⁴ that thou keep the commandment spotless, irreproachable, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ;
