³⁵ By this shall all know that ye are disciples of mine, if ye have love amongst yourselves.

⁷ And there was strife between the herdsmen of Abram`s cattle and the herdsmen of Lot`s cattle. And the Canaanite and the Perizzite were dwelling then in the land. ⁸ And Abram said to Lot, I pray thee let there be no contention between me and thee, and between my herdsmen and thy herdsmen, for we are brethren.

²¹ that they may be all one, as thou, Father, [art] in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us, that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.

³² And the heart and soul of the multitude of those that had believed were one, and not one said that anything of what he possessed was his own, but all things were common to them; ³³ and with great power did the apostles give witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and great grace was upon them all. ³⁴ For neither was there any one in want among them; for as many as were owners of lands or houses, selling them, brought the price of what was sold ³⁵ and laid it at the feet of the apostles; and distribution was made to each according as any one might have need.

¹² And by the hands of the apostles were many signs and wonders done among the people; (and they were all with one accord in Solomon`s porch, ¹³ but of the rest durst no man join them, but the people magnified them; ¹⁴ and believers were more than ever added to the Lord, multitudes both of men and women;)

⁵ but whoever keeps his word, in him verily the love of God is perfected. Hereby we know that we are in him.

¹⁰ He that loves his brother abides in light, and there is no occasion of stumbling in him.

¹⁰ In this are manifest the children of God and the children of the devil. Whoever does not practise righteousness is not of God, and he who does not love his brother. ¹¹ For this is the message which ye have heard from the beginning, that we should love one another: ¹² not as Cain was of the wicked one, and slew his brother; and on account of what slew he him? because his works were wicked, and those of his brother righteous. ¹³ Do not wonder, brethren, if the world hate you. ¹⁴ *We* know that we have passed from death to life, because we love the brethren. He who does not love [his] brother abides in death.

²⁰ If any one say, I love God, and hate his brother, he is a liar: for he that loves not his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen? ²¹ And this commandment have we from him, That he that loves God love also his brother.
