¹ But when it had been determined that we should sail to Italy, they delivered up Paul and certain other prisoners to a centurion, by name Julius, of Augustus` company.

²⁰ Ye indeed meant evil against me: God meant it for good, in order that he might do as [it is] this day, to save a great people alive.

¹¹ The counsel of Jehovah standeth for ever, the thoughts of his heart from generation to generation.

¹⁰ For the fury of man shall praise thee; the remainder of fury wilt thou gird on thyself.

²¹ Many are the thoughts in a man`s heart, but the counsel of Jehovah, that doth stand.

²⁷ It is good for a man that he bear the yoke in his youth:

³⁵ And all the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing; and he doeth according to his will in the army of the heavens, and among the inhabitants of the earth; and none can stay his hand, or say unto him, What doest thou?

⁵ And when he had entered into Capernaum, a centurion came to him, beseeching him, ⁶ and saying, Lord, my servant lies paralytic in the house, suffering grievously. ⁷ And Jesus says to him, *I* will come and heal him. ⁸ And the centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not fit that thou shouldest enter under my roof; but only speak a word, and my servant shall be healed. ⁹ For *I* also am a man under authority, having under me soldiers, and I say to this [one], Go, and he goes; and to another, Come, and he comes; and to my bondman, Do this, and he does it. ¹⁰ And when Jesus heard it, he wondered, and said to those who followed, Verily I say unto you, Not even in Israel have I found so great faith.

⁵⁴ But the centurion, and they who were with him on guard over Jesus, seeing the earthquake and the things that took place, feared greatly, saying, Truly this [man] was Son of God.

² And a certain centurion`s bondman who was dear to him was ill and about to die;

⁴⁷ Now the centurion, seeing what took place, glorified God, saying, In very deed this man was just.

¹ But a certain man in Caesarea, -- by name Cornelius, a centurion of the band called Italic,

²² And they said, Cornelius, a centurion, a righteous man, and fearing God, and borne witness to by the whole nation of the Jews, has been divinely instructed by a holy angel to send for thee to his house, and hear words from thee.

¹⁰ And when he had seen the vision, immediately we sought to go forth to Macedonia, concluding that the Lord had called us to announce to them the glad tidings.

² and finding a certain Jew by name Aquila, of Pontus by race, just come from Italy, and Priscilla his wife, (because Claudius had ordered all the Jews to leave Rome,) came to them,

²¹ And when these things were fulfilled, Paul purposed in his spirit to go to Jerusalem, passing through Macedonia and Achaia, saying, After I have been there I must see Rome also.

³² who, taking with him immediately soldiers and centurions, ran down upon them. But they, seeing the chiliarch and the soldiers, ceased beating Paul.

²⁶ And the centurion, having heard it, went and reported it to the chiliarch, saying, What art thou going to do? for this man is a Roman.

¹¹ But the following night the Lord stood by him, and said, Be of good courage; for as thou hast testified the things concerning me at Jerusalem, so thou must bear witness at Rome also.

¹⁷ And Paul, having called one of the centurions, said, Take this youth to the chiliarch, for he has something to report to him.

²³ ordering the centurion to keep him, and that he should have freedom, and to hinder none of his friends to minister to him.

¹² Then Festus, having conferred with the council, answered, Thou hast appealed to Caesar. To Caesar shalt thou go.

²⁵ But I, having found that he had done nothing worthy of death, and this [man] himself having appealed to Augustus, I have decided to send him;

⁶ and there the centurion having found a ship of Alexandria sailing to Italy, he made us go on board her.

¹¹ But the centurion believed rather the helmsman and the shipowner than what was said by Paul.

⁴³ But the centurion, desirous of saving Paul, hindered them of their purpose, and commanded those who were able to swim, casting themselves first [into the sea], to get out on land;

¹⁶ And when we came to Rome, [the centurion delivered up the prisoners to the praetorian prefect, but] Paul was allowed to remain by himself with the soldier who kept him.

²² Wherefore also I have been often hindered from coming to you. ²³ But now, having no longer place in these regions, and having great desire to come to you these many years, ²⁴ whenever I should go to Spain; (for I hope to see you as I go through, and by you to be set forward thither, if first I shall have been in part filled with your company;) ²⁵ but now I go to Jerusalem, ministering to the saints; ²⁶ for Macedonia and Achaia have been well pleased to make a certain contribution for the poor of the saints who [are] in Jerusalem. ²⁷ They have been well pleased indeed, and they are their debtors; for if the nations have participated in their spiritual things, they ought also in fleshly to minister to them. ²⁸ Having finished this therefore, and having sealed to them this fruit, I will set off by you into Spain. ²⁹ But I know that, coming to you, I shall come in [the] fulness of [the] blessing of Christ.

²⁴ Salute all your leaders, and all the saints. They from Italy salute you.
