⁵ Whan a man hath newly taken a wyfe, he shall not go awarre fare, nether shall he be charged withall. He shal be fre in his house one yeare longe, that he maye be mery wt his wife which he hath taken.

²⁴ For this cause shal a man leaue father and mother, and cleue vnto his wife, & they two shalbe one flesh.

⁷ Who so hath spoused a wyfe, and hath not yet brought her home, let him go, and byde at home, yt he die not in the battayll, & another brynge her home.

¹⁸ Let thy well be blessed, and be glad with the wife of thy youth.

⁹ Vse thy self to lyue ioyfully wt thy wife whom thou louest, all ye daies of thy life (which is but vayne) yt God hath geue the vnder the Sonne, all ye dayes of thy vanite: for yt is thy porcion in this life, of all thy labor & trauayle yt thou takest vnder the Sonne.

⁴ He answered & sayde vnto the: Haue ye not red, how yt he which made (man) at the begynnynge, made the ma & woma, ⁵ & sayde: For this cause shal a ma leaue father & mother, & cleue vnto his wife, & they two shalbe one fleshe. ⁶ Now are they not twayne then, but one flesh. Let not man therfore put a sunder, yt which God hath coupled together.

⁶ But from the first creacion God made the man and woman. ⁷ For this cause shal a man leaue his father & mother, and cleue vnto his wife, ⁸ and they two shalbe one flesh. Now are they not twayne the, but one flesh. ⁹ Let not man therfore put asunder that, which God hath coupled together.

¹⁰ But vnto them that are maried, commaunde not I, but the LORDE, that the wife separate not her selfe from the hussbande: ¹¹ but yf she separate her selfe, yt she remayne vnmaried, or be reconcyled to hir hussbande: and let not the hussbande put awaye his wife from him. ¹² As for the other, vnto the saye I, not ye LORDE: Yf eny brother haue an vnbeleuynge wife, and she is content to dwell with him, let him not put hir awaye. ¹³ And yf a woman haue an vnbeleuynge hussbande, and he is content to dwell with her, let her not put him awaye. ¹⁴ For the vnbeleuynge hussbande is sanctified by the wife, and the vnbeleuynge wife is sanctified by the hussbande: or els were youre children vncleane, but now are they holy. ¹⁵ But yf the vnbeleuynge departe, let him departe. A brother or a sister is not boude in soch cases, but God hath called vs in peace.

²⁹ Howbeit this I saye brethren: the tyme is shorte. Farthermore this is the meanynge, yt they which haue wyues, be as though they had none:

²⁸ So oughte men also to loue their wyues, euen as their awne bodyes. He that loueth his wife, loueth himselfe. ²⁹ For no ma euer yet hated his awne flesshe, but norisheth and cherissheth it, euen as the LORDE doth also the congregacion.

⁴ that they enfourme the yonge wemen to be sober mynded, to loue their hussbandes, to loue their childre, ⁵ to be discrete, chaste, husswyfly, good, obedient vnto their awne hussbandes, that the worde of God be not euell spoken of.
