⁵ And to one who does not work but trusts him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is reckoned as righteousness.

²⁴ Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears my word and believes him who sent me, has eternal life; and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life.

²⁹ Jesus answered them, "This is the work of God, that you believe in him whom he has sent."

³⁸ Therefore let it be known to you, brethren, that through him forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you, ³⁹ and through him everyone who believes is freed from everything from which you could not be freed by the law of Moses.

¹⁷ For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, "The just shall live by faith." ¹⁸ For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and wickedness of men who by their wickedness suppress the truth,

²² the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. For there is no difference,

²⁶ and it was to demonstrate his righteousness at the present time, that he might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus. ²⁷ Where then is our boasting? It is excluded. On what law? On the law of works? No, but on the law of faith. ²⁸ For we hold that a man is justified by faith apart from works of the law. ²⁹ Or is God the God of Jews only? Is he not the God of Gentiles also? Yes, of Gentiles also, ³⁰ since there is one God, who will justify the circumcised by faith and the uncircumcised through their faith.

³ For what does the scripture say? "Abraham believed God, and it was reckoned to him as righteousness."

²⁴ but for us also. It will be reckoned to us who believe in him who raised from the dead Jesus our Lord,

⁶ When we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. ⁷ Why, one will hardly die for a righteous manthough perhaps for a good man one will dare even to die. ⁸ But God demonstrates his own love for us, in that while we were still sinners Christ died for us.

³⁰ And those whom he predestined, he also called; those whom he called, he also justified; and those whom he justified, he also glorified. ³¹ What then shall we say to this? If God is for us, who can be against us? ³² He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all, how will he not also give us all things with him? ³³ Who shall bring any charge against God's elect? It is God who justifies. ³⁴ Who is he who condemns? It is Christ Jesus, who died, yes, who was raised from the dead, who is at the right hand of God, who is also interceding for us.

³ For, being ignorant of the righteousness that comes from God, and seeking to establish their own, they did not submit to God's righteousness.

⁹ because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. ¹⁰ For man believes with his heart and so is justified, and he confesses with his mouth and so is saved.

⁹ Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither the immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor sexual perverts, ¹⁰ nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. ¹¹ And such were some of you. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God.

¹⁶ yet who know that a man is not justified by works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Christ Jesus, so that we may be justified by faith in Christ, and not by works of the law, because by works of the law will no flesh be justified. ¹⁷ But if, while seeking to be justified in Christ, we ourselves have also been found sinners, is Christ then an agent of sin? Certainly not!

⁸ And the Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel beforehand to Abraham, saying, "In you will all the nations be blessed." ⁹ So then those who are of faith are blessed with Abraham, the man of faith. ¹⁰ For all who rely on works of the law are under a curse; for it is written, "Cursed is everyone who does not abide by all things written in the book of the law, to do them." ¹¹ Now that no one is justified by the Law before God is evident; for, "The righteous man shall live by faith." ¹² But the Law is not of faith; on the contrary, "He who does them shall live by them." ¹³ Christ redeemed us from the curse of the Law, having become a curse for usfor it is written, "Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree" ¹⁴ in order that in Christ Jesus the blessing of Abraham might come to the Gentiles, so that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

⁹ and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which is through faith in Christthe righteousness that comes from God and is by faith,

¹³ Even though I was formerly a blasphemer and a persecutor and a violent aggressor, I was shown mercy because I acted ignorantly in unbelief; ¹⁴ and the grace of our Lord was overflowing for me, with the faith and love that are found in Christ Jesus. ¹⁵ It is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinnersof whom I am the foremost.

³ For we ourselves were once foolish, disobedient, deceived, enslaved to various passions and pleasures, passing our days in malice and envy, hated by men and hating one another. ⁴ But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, ⁵ he saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but because of his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal in the Holy Spirit, ⁶ whom he poured out upon us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, ⁷ so that we might be justified by his grace and become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.
