¹⁹ and if you are sure that you are a guide to the blind, a light to those who are in darkness,

¹⁶ the people who sat in darkness have seen a great light, and on those who sat in the region and shadow of death light has dawned."

For you pay tithe of mint and dill and cummin, and have neglected the weightier matters of the Law, justice and mercy and faith. These you ought to have done, without neglecting the others. ²⁴ You blind guides, who strain out a gnat and swallow a camel! ²⁵ "Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you cleanse the outside of the cup and of the dish, but inside they are full of extortion and self-indulgence. ²⁶ Blind Pharisee! First cleanse the inside of the cup and dish, that the outside of them may be clean also.

¹⁵ Truly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will not enter it."

¹⁸ to open their eyes, so that they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in me.'

¹⁸ Let no one deceive himself. If any one among you thinks that he is wise in this age, he must become a fool so that he may become wise.

¹⁷ You say, "I am rich; I have become wealthy, and have need of nothing"and do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked, ¹⁸ Therefore I counsel you to buy from me gold refined in the fire, that you may be rich; and white garments to clothe you, and to keep the shame of your nakedness from being seen; and salve to anoint your eyes, that you may see.
