⁴³ It was now about the sixth hour, and there was darkness over the whole land until the ninth hour,

¹⁵ Is it not lawful for me to do what I want with my own money? Or are you envious because I am generous?' ¹⁶ So the last will be first, and the first will be last."

⁴ "What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he loses one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness, and go after the one which is lost until he finds it? ⁵ And when he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing.

²⁰ And he arose and came to his father. ³ And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and take you to myself, that where I am you may be also.

²⁴ Father, I desire that they also whom you have given me may be with me where I am, that they may behold my glory which you have given me, for you loved me before the foundation of the world.

²⁰ Law came in, that the trespass might increase. But where sin increased, grace abounded all the more, ²¹ so that, as sin reigned in death, grace also might reign through righteousness to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

⁸ We are confident, I say, and would rather be away from the body and at home with the Lord.

³ And I know that this manwhether in the body or apart from the body I do not know, but God knows ⁴ was caught up to paradise and heard inexpressible things, which a man is not permitted to tell.

²³ I am hard pressed between the two. My desire is to depart and be with Christ, for that is far better;

¹⁵ It is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinnersof whom I am the foremost. ¹⁶ But I received mercy for this reason, so that in me, as the foremost, Jesus Christ might display his perfect patience for an example to those who would believe in him for eternal life.

²⁵ Therefore he is able also to save forever those who draw near to God through him, since he always lives to make intercession for them.

⁷ He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes, I will give the right to eat from the tree of life, which is in the Paradise of God.'
