1 Now the feast of Unleavened Bread drew near, which is called the Passover.
2 And the chief priests and the scribes were seeking how to kill him, for they feared the people.
3 Then Satan entered Judas, called Iscariot, who was numbered of the twelve.
4 So he went his way and conferred with the chief priests and officers, how he might betray him to them.
5 And they were glad, and agreed to give him money.
6 So he consented, and sought an opportunity to betray him to them in the absence of the multitude.
7 Then came the day of Unleavened Bread, on which the Passover lamb had to be sacrificed.
8 So he sent Peter and John, saying, "Go and prepare the Passover for us, that we may eat."
9 They said to him, "Where do you want us to prepare it?"
10 He said to them, "Behold, when you have entered the city, a man carrying a jar of water will meet you; follow him into the house which he enters.
11 And say to the owner of the house, 'The Teacher says to you: Where is the guest room, where I may eat the Passover with my disciples?'
12 He will show you a large, furnished upper room; there make ready."
13 So they went, and found it just as he had told them; and they prepared the Passover.
14 When the hour came, he sat at table, and the apostles with him.
15 And he said to them, "I have earnestly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer;
16 for I tell you, I will not eat it again until it is fulfilled in the kingdom of God."
17 Then he took the cup, and gave thanks, and said, "Take this and divide it among yourselves;
18 for I tell you, I will not drink of the fruit of the vine until the kingdom of God comes."
19 And he took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, "This is my body which is given for you; do this in remembrance of me."
20 Likewise he took the cup after supper, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you.
21 But behold the hand of him who betrays me is with me on the table.
22 For the Son of Man goes as it has been determined, but woe to that man by whom he is betrayed!"
23 Then they began to question among themselves, which of them it was who would do this.
24 A dispute also arose among them, which of them was to be considered the greatest.
25 And he said to them, "The kings of the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and those who exercise authority over them are called benefactors.
26 But not so among you; on the contrary, he who is greatest among you, let him be as the youngest, and he who leads as one who serves.
27 For who is greater, one who sits at the table, or one who serves? Is it not the one who sits at the table? But I am among you as One who serves.
28 You are those who have continued with me in my trials.
29 And I bestow on you a kingdom, just as my Father bestowed one on me,
30 so that you may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom and sit on thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
31 "Simon, Simon, behold, Satan has asked to have you, that he might sift you as wheat.
32 But I have prayed for you, that your faith may not fail; and when you have turned again, strengthen your brethren."
33 But he said to him, "Lord, I am ready to go with you to prison and to death."
34 He said, "I tell you, Peter, the rooster will not crow this day before you deny three times that you know me."
35 And he said to them, "When I sent you out with no purse or bag or sandals, did you lack anything?" They said, "Nothing."
36 He said to them, "But now, let him who has a purse take it, and likewise a bag; and let him who has no sword sell his robe and buy one.
37 For I tell you that this scripture must be fulfilled in me, 'And he was numbered with transgressors'; for what is written about me has its fulfillment."
38 They said, "Look, Lord, here are two swords." And he said to them, "It is enough."
39 He came out, and went to the Mount of Olives, as was his custom, and his disciples followed him.
40 When he came to the place, he said to them, "Pray that you may not enter into temptation."
41 And he withdrew from them about a stone's throw, and knelt down and prayed,
42 "Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; nevertheless not my will, but yours, be done."
43 An angel appeared to him from heaven, and strengthened him.
44 And being in agony, he prayed more earnestly, and his sweat became like drops of blood falling to the ground.
45 When he rose from prayer, and came to his disciples, he found them sleeping from sorrow.
46 He said to them, "Why do you sleep? Rise and pray that you may not enter into temptation."
47 While he was still speaking, a crowd came, and the man who was called Judas, one of the twelve, was leading them. He drew near to Jesus to kiss him;
48 but Jesus said to him, "Judas, are you betraying the Son of Man with a kiss?"
49 When those around him saw what was going to happen, they said, "Lord, shall we strike with the sword?"
50 And one of them struck the servant of the high priest and cut off his right ear.
51 But Jesus answered, "No more of this!" And he touched his ear and healed him.
52 Then Jesus said to the chief priests, officers of the temple, and the elders who had come to him, "Have you come out as against a robber, with swords and clubs?
53 When I was with you day after day in the temple, you did not lay hands on me. But this is your hour, and the power of darkness."
54 Then they seized him and led him away, bringing him into the high priest's house. Peter followed at a distance.
55 When they had kindled a fire in the middle of the courtyard and sat down together, Peter sat among them.
56 And a servant girl, seeing him as he sat in the firelight, looked at him, and said, "This man also was with him."
57 But he denied it, saying, "Woman, I do not know him."
58 And a little later some one else saw him and said, "You also are of them." But Peter said, "Man, I am not!"
59 Then after about an hour had passed, another insisted, saying, "Certainly this fellow also was with him, for he is a Galilean."
60 But Peter said, "Man, I do not know what you are saying!" Immediately, while he was still speaking, the rooster crowed.
61 And the Lord turned and looked at Peter. And Peter remembered the word of the Lord, how he had said to him, "Before the rooster crows today, you will deny me three times."
62 And he went out and wept bitterly.
63 Now the men who were holding Jesus mocked him and beat him.
64 They blindfolded him and asked him, "Prophesy! Who is the one who struck you?"
65 And they spoke many other things against him, blaspheming.
66 As soon as it was day, the council of the elders of the people came together, both chief priests and scribes; and they led him away to their council chamber, saying,
67 "If you are the Christ, tell us." But he said to them, "If I tell you, you will not believe.
68 And if I ask you, you will not answer.
69 But from now on the Son of Man will be seated at the right hand of the power of God."
70 They all said, "Are you the Son of God, then?" He said to them, "You said what I am."
71 And they said, "What further testimony do we need? We have heard it ourselves from his own lips."

Hebrews 10:1-10
1 For since the law has only a shadow of the good things to come and not the true form of these realities, it can never, by the same sacrifices which are continually offered year after year, make perfect those who draw near.
2 Otherwise, would they not have ceased to be offered? If the worshipers had once been cleansed, they would no longer have any consciousness of sins.
3 But in these sacrifices there is a reminder of sins year after year.
4 For it is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins.
5 Therefore, when Christ came into the world, he said: "Sacrifice and offering you did not desire, but a body you prepared for me;
6 in burnt offerings and sin offerings you have taken no pleasure.
7 Then I said, 'Behold, I have come to do your will, O God,' as it is written of me in the roll of the book."
8 When he said above, "You did not desire, nor did you take pleasure in sacrifices and offerings and burnt offerings and sin offerings" (these are offered according to the law),
9 then he said, "Behold, I have come to do your will." He takes away the first in order to establish the second.

16 The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not a participation in the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not a participation in the body of Christ?
1 Corinthians 11:23-29
23 For I received from the Lord what I also delivered to you, that the Lord Jesus on the night when he was betrayed took bread,
24 and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, "This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me."
25 In the same way he took the cup also after supper, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me."
26 For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until he comes.
27 Whoever, therefore, eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of profaning the body and blood of the Lord.
28 Let a man examine himself, and so eat of the bread and drink of the cup.
29 For anyone who eats and drinks without recognizing the body eats and drinks judgment on himself.

1 Corinthians 10:16-21
16 The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not a participation in the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not a participation in the body of Christ?
17 Because there is one bread, we who are many are one body, for we all partake of the one bread.
18 Consider Israel after the flesh; are not those who eat the sacrifices partners in the altar?
19 What do I mean then? That a thing offered to idols is anything, or that an idol is anything?
20 No, but I say that the things pagans sacrifice they offer to demons and not to God. I do not want you to be partners with demons.
21 You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons. You cannot partake of the table of the Lord and the table of demons.

6 But as it is, he has obtained a ministry which is as much more excellent than the old as the covenant he mediates is better, since it is enacted on better promises.
7 For if that first covenant had been faultless, there would have been no place sought for a second.
8 For he finds fault with them when he says: "The days are coming, says the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah;
9 not like the covenant that I made with their fathers on the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; for they did not continue in my covenant, and so I paid no heed to them, says the Lord.
10 This is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I will put my laws into their minds, and I will write them on their hearts, and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
11 And they shall not teach every one his fellow or every one his brother, saying, 'Know the Lord,' for all shall know me, from the least of them to the greatest.
12 For I will be merciful to their iniquities, and I will remember their sins no more."
13 When he said, "A new covenant," he has made the first obsolete. And what is becoming obsolete and growing old is ready to vanish away.

18 (Now this man bought a field with the reward of his wickedness; and falling headlong, he burst open in the middle and all his intestines gushed out.
19 And it became known to all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so that the field was called in their language Akeldama, that is, Field of Blood.)
20 For it is written in the book of Psalms, 'Let his homestead be made desolate, and let there be no one to dwell in it'; and, 'let another man take his office.'
21 Therefore it is necessary that of the men who have accompanied us all the time that the Lord Jesus went in and out among us,
22 beginning from the baptism of John until the day when he was taken up from usone of these men must become with us a witness to his resurrection."

22 But Jesus answered, "You do not know what you are asking for. Are you able to drink the cup that I am about to drink?" They said to him, "We are able."
23 He said to them, "You will indeed drink my cup, but to sit at my right or my left is not mine to grant, but it is for those for whom it has been prepared by my Father."

62 And the high priest stood up and said, "Have you no answer to make? What is it that these men testify against you?"
63 But Jesus remained silent. And the high priest said to him, "I charge you under oath by the living God: tell us if you are the Christ, the Son of God."

59 Yet even then their testimony did not agree.
60 And the high priest stood up in the midst, and asked Jesus, "Have you no answer to make? What is it that these men testify against you?"
61 But he was silent and made no answer. Again the high priest asked him, "Are you the Christ, the Son of the Blessed?"
62 And Jesus said, "I am. And you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Power, and coming with the clouds of heaven."
63 The high priest tore his clothes and said, "Why do we need any more witnesses?
