¹⁵ But the Lord said to him, "Go, for he is a chosen instrument of mine to carry my name before the Gentiles and kings and the sons of Israel;

¹⁷ So Ananias departed and entered the house. And after laying his hands on him said, "Brother Saul, the Lord Jesus, who appeared to you on the road by which you were coming, has sent me so that you may regain your sight and be filled with the Holy Spirit."

² While they were worshipping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, "Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them."

⁴ But the people of the city were divided; some sided with the Jews, and some with the apostles.

¹⁴ But when the apostles Barnabas and Paul heard of it, they tore their robes and rushed out into the crowd, crying out

¹⁷ She followed Paul and the rest of us, crying, "These men are servants of the Most High God, who are telling you the way of salvation." ¹⁸ She continued doing this for many days. But Paul was greatly annoyed, and turned and said to the spirit, "I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her!" And it came out at that very moment.

⁸ Crispus, the ruler of the synagogue, believed in the Lord, together with all his household; and many of the Corinthians who heard him believed and were baptized. ⁹ And the Lord said to Paul one night in a vision, "Do not be afraid, but go on speaking and do not be silent; ¹⁰ for I am with you, and no man will attack you to harm you, for I have many people in this city." ¹¹ And he stayed a year and six months, teaching the word of God among them.

⁶ "As I made my journey and drew near to Damascus, about noon a bright light from heaven suddenly flashed around me. ⁷ And I fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to me, 'Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?' ⁸ And I answered, 'Who are you, Lord?' And he said to me, 'I am Jesus of Nazareth, whom you are persecuting.'

¹⁴ Then he said, 'The God of our fathers has appointed you to know his will and to see the Righteous One and to hear words from his mouth. ¹⁵ For you will be a witness for him to all men of what you have seen and heard. ¹⁶ Now why do you delay? Get up and be baptized, and wash away your sins, calling on his name.' ¹⁷ "When I had returned to Jerusalem and was praying in the temple, I fell into a trance ¹⁸ and saw him saying to me, 'Make haste, and get out of Jerusalem quickly, because they will not accept your testimony about me.' ¹⁹ And I said, 'Lord, they themselves know that in one synagogue after another I used to imprison and beat those who believed in you. ²⁰ When the blood of Stephen your witness was shed, I also was standing by and approving, and keeping the garments of those who were killing him.' ²¹ And he said to me, 'Go; for I will send you far away to the Gentiles.'"

¹¹ The following night the Lord stood by him and said, "Take courage, for as you have testified about me at Jerusalem, so you must bear witness also at Rome."

¹⁶ But get up and stand on your feet; for this purpose I have appeared to you, to appoint you a minister and a witness to the things which you have seen of me, and also to the things in which I will appear to you; ¹⁷ rescuing you from the Jewish people and from the Gentiles, to whom I am sending you, ¹⁸ to open their eyes, so that they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in me.'

¹ Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, set apart for the gospel of God

⁵ Through him we have received grace and apostleship to bring about the obedience of faith for the sake of his name among all the nations,

¹³ Now I am speaking to you Gentiles. Inasmuch then as I am an apostle to the Gentiles, I magnify my ministry

¹ Paul, called to be an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, and our brother Sosthenes,

⁶ I planted, Apollos watered, but God was causing the growth.

¹⁴ I do not write this to shame you, but to admonish you as my beloved children. ¹⁵ For though you have countless guides in Christ, you do not have many fathers, for in Christ Jesus I became your father through the gospel.

² If to others I am not an apostle, at least I am to you; for you are the seal of my apostleship in the Lord. ³ This is my defense to those who would examine me.

¹⁹ For though I am free from all men, I have made myself a slave to all, that I might win the more.

⁸ And last of all, as to one untimely born, he appeared to me also. ⁹ For I am the least of the apostles, and not fit to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God.

¹ Working together with him, then, we urge you not to receive the grace of God in vain.

⁵ I think that I am not in the least inferior to these super-apostles.

¹¹ I have been a fool! You forced me to it, for I ought to have been commended by you. For I was not in the least inferior to these super-apostles, even though I am nothing. ¹² The signs of a true apostle were performed among you in all perseverance, with signs and wonders and mighty works.

¹ Paul, an apostlesent not from men nor through man, but through Jesus Christ and God the Father, who raised him from the dead

¹⁵ But when God, who had set me apart even from my mother's womb and called me through his grace, was pleased ¹⁶ to reveal his Son in me so that I might preach him among the Gentiles, I did not immediately consult with flesh and blood, ¹⁷ nor did I go up to Jerusalem to those who were apostles before me, but I went away into Arabia; and again I returned to Damascus.

⁷ but on the contrary, when they saw that I had been entrusted with the gospel to the uncircumcised, just as Peter had been entrusted with the gospel to the circumcised ⁸ (for he who effectually worked for Peter in his apostleship to the circumcised effectually worked for me also to the Gentiles),

¹ It was for freedom that Christ has set us free; therefore keep standing firm and do not be subject again to a yoke of slavery.

⁶ nor did we seek glory from men, either from you or from others, though we might have made demands as apostles of Christ. ⁷ For this I was appointed a preacher and an apostle (I am telling the truth, I am not lying) as a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and truth.
