¹² When the righteous are glad there is great felicity everywhere, Yet when the wicked rise humanity must lie low."

¹¹ `And, my father, see, yea see the skirt of your upper robe in my hand; for by cutting off the skirt of your upper robe, and I have not slain you, know and see that there is not in my hand evil and transgression, and I have not sinned against you, and you are hunting my soul to take it!"

³ `Go from this [place]; and you have turned for you eastward, and been hidden by the brook Cherith, that [is] on the front of the Jordan, <sup>4</sup> and it has been, from the brook you do drink, and the ravens I have commanded to sustain you there.. <sup>5</sup> And he goes and does according to the word of Yahweh, yea, he goes and dwells by the brook Cherith, that [is] on the front of the Jordan, <sup>6</sup> and the ravens are bringing to him bread and flesh in the morning, and bread and flesh in the evening, and of the brook he drinks. <sup>7</sup> And it comes to pass, at the end of days, that the brook dries up, for there has been no rain in the land, <sup>8</sup> and the word of Yahweh is unto him, saying, <sup>9</sup> `Rise, go to Zarephath, that [is] to Zidon, and you have dwelt there; lo, I have commanded there a widow woman to sustain you.. ¹⁰ And he rises, and goes to Zarephath, and comes in unto the opening of the city, and lo there, a widow woman gathering sticks, and he calls unto her, and said, `Bring, I pray you, to me, a little water in a vessel, and I drink.. <sup>11</sup> And she goes to bring [it], and he calls unto her and said, `Bring, I pray you, to me a morsel of bread in your hand.. ¹² And she said, `Yahweh your Elohim lives, I have not a cake, but the fulness of the hand of meal in a pitcher, and a little oil in a dish; and lo, I am gathering two sticks, and have gone in and prepared it for myself, and for my son, and we have eaten it--and died.. <sup>13</sup> And Elijah said unto her, `Fear not, go, do according to your word, only make for me thence a little cake, in the first place, and you have brought out to me; and for you and for your son make--last;" ¹⁴ for thus said Yahweh, Elohim of Israel, The pitcher of meal is not consumed, and the dish of oil is not lacking, till the day of Yahweh's giving a shower on the face of the ground.. ¹⁵ And she goes, and does according to the word of Elijah, and she eats, she and he, and her household--days;" ¹⁶ the pitcher of meal was not consumed, and the dish of oil did not lack, according to the word of Yahweh that He spoke by the hand of Elijah. ¹⁷ And it comes to pass, after these things, the son of the woman, mistress of the house, has been sick, and his sickness is very severe till that no breath has been left in him. ¹⁸ And she said unto Elijah, `What--to me and to you, O man of Elohim? you have come unto me to cause mine iniquity to be remembered, and to put my son to death!. <sup>19</sup> And he said unto her, `Give to me your son;' and he takes him out of her bosom, and takes him up unto the upper chamber where he is abiding, and lays him on his own bed, ²⁰ and cries unto Yahweh, and said, `Yahweh my Elohim, also on the widow with whom I am sojourning have You done evil--to put her son to death?. <sup>21</sup> And he stretches himself out on the lad three times, and calls unto Yahweh, and said, `O Yahweh my Elohim, let turn back, I pray You, the soul of this lad into his midst;. ²² and Yahweh hearkens to the voice of Elijah, and the soul of the lad turns back into his midst, and he lives. ²³ And Elijah takes the lad, and brings him down from the upper chamber of the house, and gives him to his mother, and Elijah said, `See, your son lives!. <sup>24</sup> And the woman said unto Elijah, `Now, this I have known, that a man of Elohim you [are], and the word of Yahweh in your mouth [is] truth..

¹³ `Has it not been declared to my lord that which I have done in Jezebel's slaying the prophets of Yahweh, that I hide of the prophets of Yahweh a hundred men, fifty by fifty in a cave, and sustained them with bread and water?

³ And he fears, and rises, and goes for his life, and comes in to Beer-Sheba, that [is] Judah's, and leaves his young man there,

²⁵ And it is David, and the elders of Israel, and the heads of the thousands, who are going to bring up the ark of the covenant of Yahweh from the house of Obed-Edom with joy;" ²⁶ and it comes to pass, in Elohim's helping the Levites bearing the ark of the covenant of Yahweh, that they sacrifice seven bullocks and seven rams. ²⁷ And David is wrapped in an upper robe of fine linen, and all the Levites who are bearing the ark, and the singers, and Chenaniah head of the burden of the singers; and on David [is] an Ephod of linen. ²⁸ And all Israel are bringing up the ark of the covenant of Yahweh with shouting, and with the sound of a cornet, and with trumpets, and with cymbals, sounding with psalteries and harps,

⁷ On that day then has David given at the beginning to give thanks to Yahweh by the hand of Asaph and his brethren:-- ⁸ Give thanks to Yahweh, call in His name, Make known among the peoples His doings. ⁹ Sing you to Him, sing psalms to Him, Meditate on all His wonders. ¹⁰ Boast yourselves in His holy name, Rejoice does the heart of those seeking Yahweh. ¹¹ Seek you Yahweh and His strength, Seek His face continually. ¹² Remember His wonders that He did, His signs, and the judgments of His mouth, ¹³ O seed of Israel, His servant, O sons of Jacob, His chosen ones!" ¹⁴ He [is] Yahweh our Elohim, In all the earth [are] His judgments. ¹⁵ Remember you to the eon His covenant, The word He commanded--To a thousand generations, ¹⁶ Which He has made with Abraham, And His oath--to Isaac, ¹⁷ And He establishes it to Jacob for a statute, To Israel--a covenant eonian. ¹⁸ Saying:To you I give the land of Canaan, The portion of your inheritance, ¹⁹ When you are few of number, As a little thing, and sojourners in it. ²⁰ And they go up and down, From nation unto nation, And from a kingdom unto another people. ²¹ He has not suffered any to oppress them, And reproves on their account kings. ²² Come not against Mine anointed ones, And against My prophets do not evil. ²³ Sing to Yahweh, all the earth, Proclaim from day unto day His salvation. ²⁴ Rehearse among nations His glory, Among all the peoples His wonders. ²⁵ For great [is] Yahweh, and praised greatly, And fearful He [is] above all elohims. ²⁶ For all elohims of the peoples [are] nought, And Yahweh the heavens has made. ²⁷ Honor and majesty [are] before Him, Strength and joy [are] in His place. ²⁸ Ascribe to Yahweh, you families of peoples, Ascribe to Yahweh honor and strength. ²⁹ Ascribe to Yahweh the honor of His name, Lift up a present, and come before Him. Bow yourselves to Yahweh, In the beauty of holiness. ³⁰ Be pained before Him, all the earth. ³¹ Also, established is the world, It is not moved! The heavens rejoice, and the earth is glad, And they say among nations:Yahweh has reigned. ³² Roar does the sea, and its fulness, Exult does the field, and all that [is] in it, ³³ Then sing do trees of the forest, From the presence of Yahweh, For He has come to judge the earth!" ³⁴ Give thanks to Yahweh, for good, For to the eon, [is] His kindness, ³⁵ And say, Save us, O Elohim of our salvation, And gather us, and deliver us from the nations, To give thanks to Your holy name, To triumph in Your praise. ³⁶ Blessed [is] Yahweh, Elohim of Israel, From the eon and unto the eon;' And all the people say, `Amen,' and have given praise to Yahweh.

²⁰ And David said to all the assembly, `Bless, I pray you, Yahweh your Elohim;' and all the assembly bless Yahweh, Elohim of their fathers, and bow and do obeisance to Yahweh, and to the king. ²¹ And they sacrifice to Yahweh sacrifices, and cause to ascend burnt-offerings to Yahweh on the morrow of that day, bullocks a thousand, rams a thousand, lambs a thousand, and their oblations, even sacrifices in abundance, for all Israel. ²² And they eat and drink before Yahweh on that day with great joy, and cause Solomon son of David to reign a second time, and anoint [him] before Yahweh for leader, and Zadok for priest.

¹⁰ And on the twenty and third day of the seventh month he has sent the people to their tents, rejoicing, and glad in heart, for the goodness that Yahweh has done to David, and to Solomon, and to Israel His people.

²² And Hezekiah speaks unto the heart of all the Levites, those giving good understanding concerning Yahweh, and they eat the appointed thing seven days; sacrificing sacrifices of peace-offerings, and making confession to Yahweh, Elohim of their fathers. ²³ And all the assembly take counsel to keep other seven days, and they keep seven days [with] joy;" ²⁴ for Hezekiah king of Judah has presented to the assembly a thousand bullocks, and seven thousand sheep; and the heads have presented to the assembly bullocks a thousand, and sheep ten thousand; and priests sanctify themselves in abundance. ²⁵ And all the assembly of Judah rejoice, and the priests, and the Levites, and all the assembly, those coming in from Israel, and the sojourners, those coming in from the land of Israel, and those dwelling in Judah, ²⁶ and there is great joy in Jerusalem; for from the days of Solomon son of David king of Israel there is not like this in Jerusalem, ²⁷ and the priests, the Levites, rise and bless the people, and their voice is heard, and their prayer comes in to His holy habitation, to the heavens.

¹⁵ As for Mordecai, he went forth from before the king in royal garment of blue and pale, wearing a magnified coronet of gold and a cloak of fine linen and purple wool. And Susa city was noisy with rejoicing. ¹⁶ For the Jews there was light with rejoicing, elation and esteem. ¹⁷ Also in every place of the different provinces and in each of the different cities to which the king's order and his edict were attaining, there was rejoicing and elation for the Jews, with feasting and a cheerful day. And many of the peoples of the country were professing themselves Jews, for awesome fear of the Jews had fallen on them.

¹¹ When the ear heard, it called me happy, And when the eye saw, it testified in my favor. ¹² For I made a way of escape for the humble who implored, And the orphan and him who had no helper. ¹³ The blessing of the one perishing came on me, And I caused the heart of the widow to jubilate. ¹⁴ I put on righteousness, and it clothed me; My right judgment was as a robe and a turban. ¹⁵ I became eyes to the blind, And feet to the lame was I. ¹⁶ I was father to the needy ones, And the contention of him I knew not, I would investigate it. ¹⁷ I would break the fangs of the iniquitous And would fling the prey from his teeth. ¹⁸ And so I would say:I shall expire in old age, And I shall have many days as the sand;" ¹⁹ My root is open to the water, And the night mist lodges on my harvest branch;" ²⁰ My glory will keep new within me, And my bow shall rejuvenate in my hand.

¹⁰ In the welfare of the righteous the town is glad, And in the destruction of the wicked there is jubilation."

²⁸ When the wicked rise, humanity must get concealed, Yet when they perish, the righteous increase."

² When the righteous increase, the people rejoice, Yet when the wicked man rules, the people sigh."

⁵ There is an evil I have seen under the sun Like an involuntary error that comes forth from before one in authority: ⁶ The frivolous man is put in many high positions, And the rich nobles sit in low ones."

¹⁶ Woe to you, O country, whose king is a youth, And whose chiefs eat feasts in the morning."

¹ Go to and fro in streets of Jerusalem, And see, I pray you, and know, And seek in her broad places, if you find a man, If there be one doing judgment, seeking stedfastness--Then am I propitious to her."

²⁶ And the king commands Jerahmeel son of Hammelek, and Seraiah son of Azriel, and Shelemiah son of Abdeel, to take Baruch the scribe, and Jeremiah the prophet, and Yahweh does hide them."

³⁷ Now at His already drawing near to the descent of the mount of Olives, the entire multitude of the disciples begins rejoicing, praising God with a loud voice concerning all the powerful deeds which they perceived, ³⁸ saying, "Blessed be the King coming in the name of the Lord! In heaven peace, and glory among the highest!"

³⁷ They are stoned, they are sawn, they are tried, they died, murdered by the sword; they wandered about in sheepskins, in goatskins, in want, afflicted, maltreated" ³⁸ (of whom the world was not worthy), straying in wildernesses and mountains and caves and the holes of the earth."
