²² For suddenly calamity from them shall rise, And misfortune from them both, who can know it?

³¹ It came to be as he finished speaking all these words that the ground which was under them was rent, ³² and the earth opened its mouth and swallowed them up with their households and all the humans who were with Korah and all the goods. ³³ So they descended, they and all who belonged to them, alive to the unseen; and the earth covered over them, and they perished from the midst of the assembly. ³⁴ Yet all Israel who were around them fled at their voice, for they said:Lest the earth swallow us up. ³⁵ Then fire came forth from Yahweh and devoured the two hundred fifty men who were bringing near the incense.

¹ And the Philistines are fighting against Israel, and the men of Israel flee from the face of the Philistines, and fall wounded in mount Gilboa, ² and the Philistines follow Saul and his sons, and the Philistines smite Jonathan, and Abinadab, and Malchishua, sons of Saul. ³ And the battle is hard against Saul, and the archers find him--men with bow--and he is pained greatly by the archers;" ⁴ and Saul said to the bearer of his weapons, `Draw your sword, and pierce me with it, lest they come--these uncircumcised--and have pierced me, and rolled themselves on me;' and the bearer of his weapons has not been willing, for he is greatly afraid, and Saul takes the sword, and falls upon it. ⁵ And the bearer of his weapons sees that Saul [is] dead, and he falls--he also--on his sword, and dies with him;" ⁶ and Saul dies, and three of his sons, and the bearer of his weapons, also all his men, on that day together. ⁷ And they see--the men of Israel, who [are] beyond the valley, and who [are] beyond the Jordan--that the men of Israel have fled, and that Saul and his sons have died, and they forsake the cities and flee, and Philistines come in, and dwell in them.

⁷ and smitten there are the people of Israel before the servants of David, and the smiting there is great on that day--twenty thousand;" ⁸ and the battle is there scattered over the face of all the land, and the forest multiplies to devour among the people more than those whom the sword has devoured in that day.

¹⁶ And the sons of Israel flee from the face of Judah, and Elohim gives them into their hand, ¹⁷ and Abijah and his people smite among them a great smiting, and there fall wounded of Israel five hundred thousand chosen men.

¹¹ Who is knowing the strength of Your anger And Your rage, according to the fear due to You?

¹⁴ The fury of a king is like many messengers of death, Yet a wise man shall appease it."

² Dread inspired by a king is a growling like that of a sheltered lion; He who enrages him sins against his own soul.

¹¹ Ephraim shall be extorted and bruised in judgment, for he is disposed to go after futilities."

¹⁰ Where is your king? Whereat, that he will save you in all your cities? And your judges to whom you said, Give me a king and chiefs? ¹¹ I am giving you a king in My anger, and I am taking him away in My rage."
