⁹ Do you have an arm like El's? And can you thunder with a voice like His?

⁶ Your right hand, Yahweh, was ennobled in vigor; Your right hand, Yahweh, was harrying the enemy.

⁴ He is wise in heart and resolute in vigor; Who has stiffened himself against Him and fared well?

⁶ Shall He contend against me with an abundance of vigor? Surely He Himself shall not place charges against me!

¹² Behold, I am answering you:In this you are not justified, For Eloah is greater than a mortal. ¹³ For what reason do you contend against Him That He does not answer all his words?

⁴ After it roars a voice; He thunders with His swelling voice And does not stem them so that His voice is heard. ⁵ El thunders marvelously with His voice, Doing great things that we cannot know.

³ The voice of Yahweh is over the waters; The El of glory, He thunders; Yahweh is over the abundant waters."

³ My heart kindled warm within me; A fire consumed in my soliloquy; I spoke with my tongue: ⁴ Acquaint me, O Yahweh, with my end And the measure of my days--what it is. Do let me realize how quickly my leaving off can be." ⁵ Behold, You have made my days as handbreadths, And my transient lifetime is as nothing in front of You. Yea, all of humanity, standing up, is altogether a transitory breath. {Interlude{ " ⁶ Yea, man walks about, merely an image; Yea, they clamor about in vain He piles up goods but does not know who will be gathering them in." ⁷ And now, what do I expect, O Yahweh? My waiting, it is for You!" ⁸ Rescue me from all my transgressions; Do not constitute me the reproach of the decadent one. ⁹ I have become mute; I shall not open my mouth, For You Yourself have acted."

¹⁰ You crushed Rahab who became like one slain; With Your strong arm You dispersed Your enemies.

¹³ Yours is an arm with mastery; Your hand is strong; Your right hand is exalted.

⁹ Will anyone contend with his Former? The earthenware with the ceramists? Is the clay saying to its potter, `What are you making?' And your contrivance, `No hands has he'?

²² Or are we provoking the Lord to jealousy? Not stronger that He are we!
