¹⁵ O Yahweh Elohim of Israel, You are the Righteous One! For we are left as a remnant for deliverance, as at this day. Here we are before You in our guilt, though no one can stand before You on account of this.

And I am taking away the boundaries of the peoples, and their equipment I rob. And I am bringing down, as a sturdy one, their dwellers, ¹⁴ and my hand is finding, as a nest, the estate of the peoples, and, as one gathers forsaken eggs, the entire earth do I gather. And no one comes to be ruffling a wing, or opening wide the mouth and chirping." ¹⁵ Will the axe beautify itself over the one hewing with it? Should the chief's mace magnify itself over the one waving it? As if a club is also waving the one raising it! As if a rod is raising one who is not wood! ¹⁶ Wherefore, the Lord Yahweh of hosts will send upon his stout ones leanness. And under his glory will glow a glowing as the glowing of fire." ¹⁷ And the Light of Israel will come to be a fire, and his Holy One to be a blaze, and it consumes and devours his spines and his buckthorns in one day, ¹⁸ and quenched is the glory of his wildwood, and his crop land. From the soul and unto the flesh, will He finish. And it comes to be as a fleeing when fleeing from a consuming blaze." ¹⁹ And the remainder of the trees of his wildwood will be a number that a lad will list them.

¹¹ And I check over all the habitance for its evil, and on the wicked for their depravity. And I eradicate the pomp of the arrogant, and the pride of the terrifiers am I abasing."

⁷ Therefore the rest is saved, and their noted things; they will bear them over the watercourse of the oleanders."

¹ In that day Yahweh will check over with His sword, holy and great and steadfast, on the dragon, the fugitive serpent, and on the dragon, the tortuous serpent, and He will kill the monster which is in the sea."

²⁹ He is giving vigor to the faint, and to those with no virility, their staunchness He is increasing."

³ The winepress I trod alone, and of the peoples there is no man `with Me, and I am treading them in My anger, and trampling them in My fury, and their gore is spattering on My garments, and all My clothing I sully."

⁶ And we are becoming as unclean, all of us, and as an ornamented garment is all our righteousness. And we are decaying as a leaf, all of us, and our depravities, as the wind, are carrying us away."

¹⁸ I have surely heard Ephraim bemoaning himself, `You have chastised me, And I am chastised, as a heifer not taught, Turn me back, and I turn back, For you [are] Yahweh my Elohim." ¹⁹ For after my turning back I repented, And after my being instructed I struck on the thigh, I have been ashamed, I have also blushed, For I have borne the reproach of my youth."

⁵ And it takes of the seed of the land, And does put it in a field of seed, To take by many waters, In a conspicuous place it has set it."

² `What--to you, you--using this simile Concerning the ground of Israel, saying:Fathers do eat unripe fruit, And the sons' teeth are blunted?

² `Son of man, say to the leader of Tyre:Thus said the Lord Yahweh:Because your heart has been high, And you do say:A el I [am], The habitation of Elohim I have inhabited, In the heart of the seas, And you [are] man, and not El, And you give out your heart as the heart of Elohim,

³⁷ Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, am lauding and exalting and honoring the King of the heavens, seeing that all His deeds are verity, and His paths are adjudication; and all walking in pride He can abase."

²⁰ Yet when his heart was exalted and his spirit was mightily arrogant, he was deposed from the throne of his kingdom and they caused his esteem to pass away from him:" ²¹ From the sons of mortals was he shoved, his heart was made equal to an animal's and with the wild donkeys was his abode. Herbage are they feeding to him, as oxen, and by the night mist of the heavens was his frame streaked, till he knew that the Supreme Eloah is in authority in the kingdom of mortals, and whom He is willing is He setting up over it." ²² Yet you, his grandson Belshazzar, you abase not your heart in Eloah's sight, forasmuch as all this you know." ²³ Over the Lord, the Eloah of the heavens, you exalt yourself; the vessels of His house they bring hither before you; you and your grandees, your consorts and your concubines are drinking turbid wine from them. Also elohim of silver, gold, copper, iron, wood, and stone who are not perceiving and not hearing and not knowing, these you laud, yet the Eloah in Whose hand is your breath, and for Whom are all your paths, Him you do not honor."

⁵ We sin and we are depraved, we do wickedly and revolt, we withdraw from Thy instructions and from Thy judgments."

⁷ To Thee, my Lord, is righteousness, yet to us is shamefacedness as at this day:To each man of Judah, to the dwellers of Jerusalem, to all the people of Israel, the near and the far, in all the lands where Thou hast expelled them for their offense with which they offend Thee."

³ The arrogance of your heart lures you, O tabernacler in the holes of the crag. A height is his dwelling; he is saying in his heart, Who will bring me down to earth? ⁴ If you are elevated as the vulture, and if your nest is placed between the stars, thence will I bring you down (averring is Yahweh)."

¹⁶ The nations shall see and be ashamed of all their mastery. They will place a hand on the mouth. Their ears will be deaf.

⁶ Before His menace, who will stand? And who will rise in the heat of His anger? His fury is poured forth as fire, and the rocks are broken down because of Him."

²⁰ Yet Yahweh is in His holy temple! Hist! all the earth, because of His presence!"

¹³ Hist! all flesh, in view of Yahweh, for He is roused from His holy habitation."

⁵ And they shall become as masters, trampling in the mud of the streets, in the battle, and they shall fight, for Yahweh is with them, and the riders of horses shall be ashamed."

¹ For behold! The day of Yahweh is coming, consuming as a stove, and it devours them. And all the arrogant and all doing wickedness become straw. And the coming day sets them aflame, says Yahweh of hosts, which will not leave to them root or bough."

³ And you shall tread down the wicked, for they are becoming ashes under the soles of your feet in the day which I am making, says Yahweh of hosts."

¹³ And mayest Thou not be bringing us into trial, but rescue us from the wicked one.'"

¹¹ Now, getting it, they murmured against the householder,

⁸ Now perceiving it, Simon Peter prostrates before Jesus' knees, saying, "Come away from me, for a man, a sinner am I, Lord!"

¹⁸ Rising, I will go to my father and declare to him, "Father, I sinned against heaven and in your sight." ¹⁹ No longer am I worthy to be called your son. Make me as one of your hired men."'"

¹³ Now the tribute collector, standing afar off, would not even lift up his eyes to heaven, but beat his chest, saying, 'God, make a propitiatory shelter for me, the sinner!' " ¹⁴ I am saying to you, this man descended to his home justified, rather than that one, for everyone who is exalting himself shall be humbled, yet he who is humbling himself shall be exalted."

⁴⁴ And out came he who had died, bound feet and hands with winding sheets, and his countenance had been bound about with a handkerchief. Jesus is saying to them, "Loose him and let him go!"

²⁵ out of these two to take the place of this dispensation and apostleship, from which Judas transgressed, to be gone into his own place."

²² Now the populace retorted, "A god's voice, and not a man's!" ²³ Now instantly a messenger of the Lord smites him, because he gives not the glory to God, and, becoming the food of worms, he gives up his soul."

⁸ yet to those of faction and stubborn, indeed, as to the truth, yet persuaded to injustice, indignation and fury, ⁹ affliction and distress, on every human soul which is effecting evil, both of the Jew first and of the Greek,

⁴ May it not be coming to that! Now let God be true, yet every man a liar, even as it is written: "That so Thou shouldst be justified in Thy sayings, And shalt be conquering when Thou art being judged."

¹⁹ Now we are aware that, whatever the law is saying, it is speaking to those under the law, that every mouth may be barred, and the entire world may become subject to the just verdict of God,

⁶ For Christ, while we are still infirm, still in accord with the era, for the sake of the irreverent, died."

¹⁹ You will be protesting to me, then, "Why, then, is He still blaming? for who has withstood His intention? ²⁰ O man! who are you, to be sure, who are answering again to God? That which is molded will not protest to the molder, "Why do you make me thus? ²¹ Or has not the potter the right over the clay, out of the same kneading to make one vessel, indeed, for honor, yet one for dishonor? ²² Now if God, wanting to display His indignation and to make His powerful doings known, carries, with much patience, the vessels of indignation, adapted for destruction, ²³ it is that He should also be making known the riches of His glory on the vessels of mercy, which He makes ready before for glory -"

³⁴ For, who knew the mind of the Lord? or, who became His adviser? ³⁵ or, who gives to Him first, and it will be repaid Him? ³⁶ seeing that out of Him and through Him and for Him is all: to Him be the glory for the eons! Amen!

²⁰ Now the God of peace will be crushing Satan under your feet swiftly. The grace of our Lord Jesus be with you!

¹⁶ For who knew the mind of the Lord? Who will be deducing from Him? Yet we have the mind of Christ.

²² Or are we provoking the Lord to jealousy? Not stronger that He are we!

⁵⁴ Now, whenever this corruptible should be putting on incorruption and this mortal should be putting on immortality, then shall come to pass the word which is written, Swallowed up was Death by Victory."

¹⁵ Brethren (I am saying this as a man), a human covenant likewise having been ratified, no one is repudiating or modifying it."

¹⁷ Now this am I saying: a covenant, having been ratified before by God, the law, having come four hundred and thirty years afterward, does not invalidate,

⁴ yet God, being rich in mercy, because of His vast love with which He loves us" ⁵ (we also being dead to the offenses and the lusts), vivifies us together in Christ (in grace are you saved!)" ⁶ and rouses us together and seats us together among the celestials, in Christ Jesus, ⁷ that, in the oncoming eons, He should be displaying the transcendent riches of His grace in His kindness to us in Christ Jesus." ⁸ For in grace, through faith, are you saved, and this is not out of you; it is God's approach present, ⁹ not of works, lest anyone should be boasting."

¹⁵ Faithful is the saying, and worthy of all welcome, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, foremost of whom am I."

¹⁸ For, indeed, there is coming to be a repudiation of the preceding precept because it is weak and without benefit;"

¹⁸ For you have not come to that which may be handled and burned with fire, and to murkiness, and gloom, and tornado, and the blare of a trumpet, ¹⁹ and the sound of declarations, which those who hear refuse, that no word be added to them." ²⁰ For they did not carry out the assignment: And if a wild beast should come in contact with the mountain, it shall be pelted with stones."

⁶ Yet greater is the grace He is giving. Wherefore He is saying, God "the proud is resisting, yet to the humble He is giving grace."

⁵ Likewise, younger men may be subject to the elder, yet all wear the servile apron of humility with one another, for God "is resisting the proud, yet is giving grace to the humble." ⁶ Be humbled, then, under the mighty hand of God, that He should be exalting you in season,

¹⁶ For not by following wisely made myths do we make known to you the power and presence of our Lord, Jesus Christ, but by becoming spectators of His magnificence." ¹⁷ For He got from God, the Father, the honor and glory of the voice, being carried to Him in such a way by the Glory Magnifical: "This is My Son, the Beloved, in Whom I delight!"

¹⁰ Now the day of the Lord will be arriving as a thief, in which the heavens shall be passing by with a booming noise, yet the elements shall be dissolved by combustion, and the earth and the works in it shall be found." ¹¹ At these all, then, dissolving, to what manner of men must you belong in holy behavior and devoutness, ¹² hoping for and hurrying the presence of God's day, because of which the heavens, being on fire, will be dissolved, and the elements decompose by combustion!"

²⁴ Now to Him Who is able to guard you from tripping, and to stand you flawless in sight of His glory, in exultation, ²⁵ to the only God, our Saviour, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, might and authority before the entire eon, now, as well as for all the eons. Amen!"
