²⁰ Why is He giving light to the miserable, And life to the bitter of sou.

¹⁰ And she is bitter in soul, and prays unto Yahweh, and weeps greatly,

²⁷ And she comes in unto the man of Elohim, unto the hill, and lays hold on his feet, and Gehazi comes nigh to thrust her away, and the man of Elohim said, `Let her alone, for her soul [is] bitter to her, and Yahweh has hidden [it] from me, and has not declared [it] to me..

¹⁶ Why was I not like a buried stillborn child, Like babes who have not seen light?

⁹ That Eloah would be disposed to crush me! May He let loose His hand and clip me off!

¹⁵ So my soul would choose strangling; Death is desired by my bones. ¹⁶ I reject this; I would not live for the eon; Leave off from me, for my days are vanity.

²⁸ He ransomed my soul from passing into the pit, And my life is seeing the light.

³⁰ To restore his soul from the pit, To enlighten him with the light of the living.

⁶ Give intoxicant to him who is perishing, And wine to those bitter of soul."

¹⁸ Why [is] this? from the womb I have come out, To see labor and sorrow, Yea, consumed in shame are my days!"
