⁹ Woe to him gaining an evil gain for his house in order to place his nest in the height, to be rescued from the clutch of evil!"

¹⁰ And lifting is Lot his eyes and is seeing all the basin of the Jordan, for all of it was irrigated before Yahweh wrecked Sodom and Gomorrah, as the garden of Yahweh Elohim, as the land of Egypt as you come to Zoar. ¹¹ And choosing is Lot for his all the basin of the Jordan. And journeying is Lot east. And being parted are they, each man from his brother. ¹² Abram dwells in the land of Canaan, and Lot dwells in the cities of the basin. And tenting is he as far as Sodom. ¹³ Now the mortals of Sodom are evil and sinners against Yahweh Elohim exceedingly.

²⁶ Yet looking back is his wife from behind him, and becoming is she a monument of salt. ²⁷ And early is Abraham rising in the morning to go to the place where he had stood before the face of Yahweh. ²⁸ And gazing is he on the surface of Sodom and Gomorrah and on all the surface of the land of the basin, and is seeing, and behold! Up go the fumes of the land as the fumes of a limekiln. ²⁹ And coming is it, as Yahweh Elohim wrecks all the cities of the basin, remembering also is the Elohim Abraham and is sending Lot from the midst of the overturning when Yahweh overturns the cities in which Lot dwelt. ³⁰ And up is Lot going from Zoar, and dwelling in the mountain, and his two daughters with him, for he fears to dwell in Zoar. And dwelling is he in a cave, he and his two daughters with him. ³¹ And saying is the firstborn to the inferior in station, "Our father is old, and man there is none in the earth to come on us as is the way of the entire earth. ³² Go! Give will we our father wine to drink, and lie with him and keep alive seed from our father. ³³ And giving are they their father wine to drink in that night. And coming is the firstborn, and lying with her father in that night, and he knows not her lying nor her rising. ³⁴ And coming is it on the morrow that the firstborn is saying to the inferior in station, "Behold! I lay yesternight with our father. We will give him wine to drink tonight, moreover. And you come, lie with him, and we will keep alive seed from our father. ³⁵ And, moreover, they are giving their father wine to drink in that night, and rising is the inferior in station, and is lying with her father. And he knows not her lying nor her rising. ³⁶ And pregnant are the two daughters of Lot by their father. ³⁷ And bearing is the firstborn a son, and is calling his name Moab, saying, "From my father.He is the forefather of Moab till this day. ³⁸ And the inferior in station, she, moreover, bears a son, and is calling his name Ben-Ammi. He is the forefather of the sons of Ammon till this day.

²⁵ You shall burn the carvings of their elohim with fire. You shall not covet the silver and gold on them or take it for yourselves, lest you be trapped by it, for it is an abhorrence to Yahweh your Elohim. ²⁶ You shall not bring an abhorrence into your house, or you will become doomed just like it is. You shall reject it as abominable, yea abominable; you shall reject it as abhorrent, yea abhorrent, for it is doomed.

²¹ and I see among the spoil a goodly robe of Shinar, and two hundred shekels of silver, and one wedge of gold, whose weight [is] fifty shekels, and I desire them, and take them; and lo, they [are] hid in the earth, in the midst of my tent, and the silver under it.. ²² And Joshua sends messengers, and they run unto the tent, and lo, it is hidden in his tent, and the silver under it;" ²³ and they take them out of the midst of the tent, and bring them in unto Joshua, and unto all the sons of Israel, and pour them out before Yahweh. ²⁴ And Joshua takes Achan son of Zerah, and the silver, and the robe, and the wedge of gold, and his sons, and his daughters, and his ox, and his ass, and his flock, and his tent, and all that he has, and all Israel with him, and they cause them to go up the valley of Achor. ²⁵ And Joshua said, `What! you have troubled us! --Yahweh does trouble you this day;' and all Israel cast stones at him, and they burn them with fire, and they stone them with stones, <sup>26</sup> and they raise up over him a great heap of stones unto this day, and Yahweh turns back from the heat of His anger, therefore has [one] called the name of that place `Valley of Achor' till this day.

² and Ahab speaks unto Naboth, saying, `Give to me your vineyard, and it is to me for a garden of green herbs, for it [is] near by my house, and I give to you in its stead a better vineyard than it; if good in your eyes, I give to you silver--its price.. <sup>3</sup> And Naboth said unto Ahab, `Far be it from me, by Yahweh, my giving the inheritance of my fathers to you;. ⁴ and Ahab comes in unto his house, sulky and wroth, because of the word that Naboth the Jezreelite has spoken unto him when he said, `I do not give to you the inheritance of my fathers,' and he lies down on his bed, and turns round his face, and has not eaten bread.

¹⁹ and you have spoken unto him, saying, Thus said Yahweh, Have you murdered, and also possessed? and you have spoken unto him, saying, Thus said Yahweh, In the place where the dogs licked the blood of Naboth, do the dogs lick your blood, even your.. ²⁰ And Ahab said unto Elijah, `Have you found me, O mine enemy?' and he said, `I have found--because of your selling yourself to do the evil thing in the eyes of Yahweh;" ²¹ lo, I am bringing in unto you evil, and have taken away your posterity, and cut off to Ahab those sitting on the wall, and restrained, and left, in Israel, ²² and given up your house like the house of Jeroboam son of Nebat, and like the house of Baasha son of Ahijah, for the provocation with which you have provoked [Me], and do cause Israel to sin. ²³ `And also of Jezebel has Yahweh spoken, saying, The dogs do eat Jezebel in the bulwark of Jezreel;" ²⁴ him who dies of Ahab in a city do the dogs eat, and him who dies in a field do fowl of the heavens eat;"

²⁰ And Gehazi, servant of Elisha the man of Elohim, said, `Lo, my lord has spared Naaman this Aramean, not to receive from his hand that which he brought; Yahweh lives; surely if I have run after him, then I have taken from him something.. <sup>21</sup> And Gehazi pursues after Naaman, and Naaman sees one running after him, and alights from off the chariot to meet him, and said, `Is there peace?. ²² And he said, `Peace; my lord has sent me, saying, Lo, now, this, come unto me have two young men from the hill-country of Ephraim, of the sons of the prophets; give, I pray you, to them, a talent of silver, and two changes of garments.. <sup>23</sup> And Naaman said, `Be pleased, take two talents;' and he urges on him, and binds two talents of silver in two purses, and two changes of garments, and gives unto two of his young men, and they bear before him;" ²⁴ and he comes in unto the high place, and takes out of their hand, and lays up in the house, and sends away the men, and they go. ²⁵ And he has come in, and does stand by his lord, and Elisha said unto him, `Whence--Gehazi?' and he said, `Your servant went not hither or thither.. ²⁶ And he said unto him, `My heart went not when the man turned from off his chariot to meet you; is it a time to take silver, and to take garments, and olives, and vines, and flock, and herd, and men-servants, and maid-servants? ²⁷ yea, the leprosy of Naaman does cleave to you, and to your seed, --to the eon;' and he goes out from before him--leprous as snow.

¹⁹ For he has maltreated, he has forsaken the poor; He has pillaged a house which he did not build. ²⁰ For he has not known ease from the craving of his belly; From his coveting, he has not tried to escape. ²¹ There was nothing surviving for him as food. Therefore his good state cannot hope to last. ²² When his affluence is full there shall be distress for him; Every means of misery shall come upon him. ²³ It shall come to be, in order to fill his belly, That He shall send against him the heat of His anger And shall rain it upon him as his nourishment. ²⁴ He shall have to run away from a weapon of iron; An arrow of a copper bow shall pass through him. ²⁵ It will be pulled out and be brought forth from his body, And a flashing blade from his bile; Dread shall come over him. ²⁶ Total darkness lies buried for his secluded riches; A fire that was not blown shall devour him; It shall imperil anything surviving in his tent. ²⁷ The heavens shall expose his depravity, And the earth will rise against him. ²⁸ The deluge shall deport his house, Spilling over in the day of His anger.

³ For the wicked one boasts over the lusting of his soul, And the greedy one scorns, Yea, he spurns Yahweh. ⁴ In his haughty anger the wicked one is not inquiring at all. There is no Elohim in all his schemes; ⁵ His ways are profane in every season. Your judgments are withdrawn from in front of him; All his foes--he puffs at them. ⁶ He says in his heart, I shall not slip at all; For generation after generation, I shall not be in peril.

¹¹ Their tombs are their houses for the eon, Their tabernacles for generation after generation, Those who had called their grounds after their names."

⁷ Here is the master who is not making Elohim his stronghold, And is trusting in the vastness of his riches; He is strengthening himself by his works of woe."

¹¹ The rich man's wealth is his strong town, And in his fancy it is like an impregnable wall." ¹² The heart of a man is haughty before a breaking, Yet humility comes before glory."

¹⁵ For you say, "We have contracted a covenant with death, and with the unseen we made a public treaty. The scourge overflowing that shall pass will not come on us, for we constitute a lie our refuge, and in falsehood are we concealed."

⁷ Yet you are saying, `For an eon will I be mistress still!' You do not lay these things to heart; you are not mindful of your hereafter." <sup>8</sup> And now, hear this, luxuriant one, dwelling trustingly, who is saying in her heart, `I, and only I, further! I shall not sit, a widow, nor see bereavement.'" ⁹ Yet now these two shall come to you in a moment; in one day, bereavement and widowhood, suddenly they shall come on you in your many enchantments, in the staunchness of your magic charms, exceedingly."

¹³ Woe to him who is building his house by unrighteousness, And his upper chambers by injustice, On his neighbor he lays service for nought, And his wage he does not give to him." ¹⁴ Who is saying, `I build for myself a large house, And airy upper chambers,' And he has cut out for himself its windows, Ceiled with cedar, and painted with vermilion." ¹⁵ Do you reign, because you are fretting yourself in cedar? Your father--did he not eat and drink? Yea, he did judgment and righteousness, Then [it is] well with him." ¹⁶ He decided the cause of the poor and needy, Then [it is] well--is it not to know Me? An affirmation of Yahweh." ¹⁷ But your eyes and your heart are not, Except on your dishonest gain, And on shedding of innocent blood, And on oppression, and on doing of violence." ¹⁸ Therefore, thus said Yahweh concerning Jehoiakim son of Josiah king of Judah:They do not lament for him, Ah, my brother, and Ah, sister, They do not lament for him, Ah, lord, and Ah, his honor." ¹⁹ The burial of an ass--he is buried, Dragged and cast out thence to the gates of Jerusalem."

¹⁶ Your terribleness has lifted you up, The pride of your heart, O dweller in clefts of the rock, Holding the high place of the height, For you make high as an eagle your nest, From thence I bring you down, An affirmation of Yahweh."

⁴ If you are elevated as the vulture, and if your nest is placed between the stars, thence will I bring you down (averring is Yahweh)."

¹ Then I am returning and lifting my eyes and seeing, and behold! a flying roll." ² And he is saying to me, What are you seeing? And I am saying, I am seeing a flying roll. Its length is twenty cubits, and its width is ten cubits." ³ And he is saying to me, This is the execration which is faring forth over the surface of the entire land, for every thief, henceforth as death doomed shall be visited with vengeance, and every swearer, henceforth as death doomed shall be visited with vengeance." ⁴ I will bring it forth, (averring is Yahweh of hosts), and it enters into the house of the thief, and into the house of him who swears in My name falsely, and it lodges in the midst of his house, and it consumes it and its timbers and its stones."

¹⁷ seeing that he was numbered among us, and chanced upon the allotment of this dispensation." ¹⁸ (This man, indeed, then, acquires a freehold with the wages of injustice, and coming to fall prone, ruptures in the middle, and all his intestines were poured out." ¹⁹ And it became known to all who are dwelling in Jerusalem, so that that freehold is called, in their own vernacular, "Acheldamach,that is, "Freehold of blood.")" ²⁰ For it is written in the scroll of the Psalms, Let his domicile become desolate, And let no one be dwelling in it, and 'Let his supervision be taken by another.' " ²¹ Then, of the men coming together with us in all the time in which the Lord Jesus came in and out to us, ²² beginning from the baptism of John until the day on which He was taken up from us - of these one is to become a witness of His resurrection together with us." ²³ And they nominate two, Joseph, called Bar-Sabbas, who was surnamed Justus, and Matthias." ²⁴ And praying, they say, "Thou, Lord, Knower of all hearts, indicate one whom Thou choosest, ²⁵ out of these two to take the place of this dispensation and apostleship, from which Judas transgressed, to be gone into his own place."

¹¹ Woe to them! for they went in the way of Cain, and in the deception of Balaam's wages were they poured out, and in the contradiction of Korah they perished."
