¹ I am standing on my charge, and I am stationing myself on the siege work, and I am watching to see what He will speak to me, and what I shall reply concerning my correction."

²⁴ And David is sitting between the two gates, and the watchman goes unto the roof of the gate, unto the wall, and lifts up his eyes, and looks, and lo, a man running by himself.

¹⁷ And the watchman is standing on the tower in Jezreel, and sees the company of Jehu in his coming, and said, `A company I see;' and Joram said, `Take a rider and send to meet them, and let him say, Is there peace?.

⁹ and the sons of Israel do covertly things that [are] not right against Yahweh their Elohim, and build for them high places in all their cities, from a tower of the watchers unto the fenced city,

⁵ I would know the declarations with which He shall answer, And I would understand what He shall say to me. ⁶ Shall He contend against me with an abundance of vigor? Surely He Himself shall not place charges against me! ⁷ There an upright man would plead with Him; Let me win deliverance permanently from my Judge.

³⁵ (O that I had someone hearing me! Behold, here is my mark; may He Who Suffices answer me! Let a man write his indictment against me on a scroll;"

³⁷ I would tell him the tale of my steps; Like a nobleman I would approach him.)

³ In the morning You shall hear my voice; In the morning I shall arrange for You and watch.

¹⁶ When I am attempting to realize this, It is toil in my eyes, ¹⁷ Until I am coming to the Grand Sanctuary of El; Then I am understanding what is in their hereafter.

⁸ Let me hear what the One, El, shall speak; Yahweh indeed shall pronounce well-being to His people, To His benign ones, To those who turn back their heart to Him."

⁵ Arrange the table! Watch, yea, watch! Eat! Drink! Rise, chiefs! Anoint the shield!"

⁸ And he is calling, "I am seeing on the watch, my lord! I am standing continually by day, and I am stationed on my charge all the nights."

¹¹ LOAD OF DUME For me is a call from the gate, "Guard! What of the night? Guard! What of the night, guard of the rampart? ¹² Says the guard, "The morning has arrived, and, moreover, the night. If you are petitioning, petition, and return with me."

⁶ Over your walls, Jerusalem, I give the supervision to keepers. All the day and all the night, continually, they shall not hush reminding Yahweh. There must be no stillness for you!"

¹ Righteous [are] You, O Yahweh, When I plead towards you, Only, judgments do I speak with You, Wherefore did the way of the wicked prosper? At rest have been all treacherous dealers."

¹² Are You not from aforetime, Yahweh? My Eloah, my Holy One, You shalt not die. Yahweh, for judgment do You place him, and, O Rock, for correction, You do found him." ¹³ You are of cleaner eyes than to see evil, and to look at toil You are not able. Why are You looking at the treacherous, are silent when the wicked swallow one up more righteous than he? ¹⁴ And You are making humanity as fish of the sea, as the moving animal with no ruler over it." ¹⁵ All of them he brings up with a fishhook; he is impounding them in his seine net and is gathering them in his dragnet, therefore his heart is rejoicing and exulting." ¹⁶ Therefore he is sacrificing to his seine net and is fuming incense to his dragnet, for his portion is stout by them, and his food plump." ¹⁷ Will he therefore empty his seine net, and not spare to kill the nations continually?

³ since you are seeking a test of Christ speaking in me, Who is not weak for you, but powerful among you. "
