¹⁸ Because of the good hand of our Elohim upon us, they brought to us a man of intelligence from the sons of Mahli son of Levi son of Israel, namely Sherebiah and his sons and his brothers, eighteen in all;"

²⁰ and the sons of Merari by their families:Mahli and Mushi. These names were those of the Levite families by their fathers' house.

¹⁹ Sons of Merari; Mahli and Mushi. And these [are] families of the Levite according to their fathers;

⁶ that Ezra himself came up from Babylon. He was a scribe expert in the law of Moses that Yahweh Elohim of Israel had given. And the king granted him all his request, according to the hand of Yahweh his Elohim on him.

²⁸ And He has stretched out kindness toward me from before the king and his counselors and all the masterful chiefs of the king. So I encouraged myself according to the hand of Yahweh my Elohim on me, and I convened the heads out of Israel to go up with me.

¹⁶ So I sent for Eliezer, Ariel, Shemaiah and Elnathan and Jarib and Elnathan and Nathan and Zechariah and Meshullam, heads, and for Joiarib and Elnathan, men of understanding.

²² For I was ashamed to ask the king for soldiers and horsemen to help us against enemy attack on the way, since we had told the king, saying:The hand of our Elohim is over all those seeking Him for good; yet His strength and His anger are against all those forsaking Him.

²⁴ From the priests' chiefs I then separated twelve, namely Sherebiah and Hashabiah, and with them ten of their brothers.

⁸ and a letter unto Asaph, keeper of the paradise that the king has, that he give to me trees for beams [for] the gates of the palace that the house has, and for the wall of the city, and for the house into which I enter;' and the king gives to me, according to the good hand of my Elohim upon me.

⁷ And Jeshua, and Bani, and Sherebiah, Jamin, Akkub, Shabbethai, Hodijah, Maaseiah, Kelita, Azariah, Jozabad, Hanan, Pelaiah, and the Levites, giving the people understanding in the law, and the people, [are] on their station,

⁴ And there stand up on the ascent, of the Levites, Jeshua, and Bani, Kadmiel, Shebaniah, Bunni, Sherebiah, Bani, Chenani, and they cry with a loud voice unto Yahweh their Elohim. ⁵ And the Levites say, [even] Jeshua, and Kadmiel, Bani, Hashabniah, Sherebiah, Hodijah, Shebaniah, Pethahiah, `Rise, bless Yahweh your Elohim, from the eon unto the eon, and they bless the name of Your honor that [is] exalted above all blessing and praise.

²⁴ and heads of the Levites:Hashabiah, Sherebiah, and Jeshua son of Kadmiel, and their brethren, [are] over-against them, to give praise, to give thanks, by command of David the man of Elohim, charge over-against charge.

⁶ In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He Himself shall straighten your paths."

³ By wisdom a house is built, And by comprehension it is established."

¹⁵ And I have given to you shepherds According to Mine own heart, And they have fed you with knowledge and understanding."

²⁰ in every matter of wisdom and of understanding which the king seeks of them, he is finding them tenfold above all the sacred scribes and magi which are in all his kingdom. Hence they are honored by the king; he constitutes them chiefs, and he finds them wiser in word than all those in his land and in his kingdom."

²⁰ Brethren, do not become little children in disposition. But in evil be minors, yet in disposition become mature."
