¹ After these things, in the reign of Artaxerxes king of Persia, Ezra son of Seraiah, son of Azariah, son of Hilkiah, ² son of Shallum, son of Zadok, son of Ahitub, ³ son of Amariah, son of Azariah, son of Meraioth, ⁴ son of Zerahiah, son of Uzzi, son of Bukki, ⁵ son of Abishua, son of Phinehas, son of Eleazar, son of Aaron the principal priest-. ⁶ that Ezra himself came up from Babylon. He was a scribe expert in the law of Moses that Yahweh Elohim of Israel had given. And the king granted him all his request, according to the hand of Yahweh his Elohim on him. ⁷ Some of the sons of Israel and some of the priests, the Levites and the singers, the gatekeepers and the Nethinim also came up to Jerusalem in the seventh year of king Artaxerxes. ⁸ They came to Jerusalem in the fifth month, that is, in the seventh year of the king. ⁹ For on day one of the first month this Ezra had deliberately determined the departure from Babylon; and on day one of the fifth month he came to Jerusalem, according to the good hand of his Elohim on him. ¹⁰ For Ezra himself had prepared his heart to inquire of the law of Yahweh and to observe it and to teach in Israel statute and right judgment. ¹¹ Now this is a transcript of the dispatch that king Artaxerxes gave Ezra the priest and scribe, a scholar in matters concerning the instructions of Yahweh and His statutes for Israel. ¹² Artaxerxes king of kings, to Ezra the priest, scholar in the edict of the Eloah of the heavens. Peace being perfected! And no. ¹³ a decree is being promulgated from me, that anyone in my kingdom who is from the people of Israel and its priests and Levites and who is willing to go to Jerusalem with you, may go. ¹⁴ Forasmuch as you are being sent from before the king and his seven counselors to make a quest about Judah and Jerusalem in accord with the edict of your Eloah which is under your hand, ¹⁵ and to transfer the silver and gold that the king and his counselors have voluntarily given to the Eloah of Israel Whose tabernacle is in Jerusalem, ¹⁶ together with all the silver and gold that you may obtain in the whole province of Babylon along with the voluntary offering that the people and the priests are willingly giving to the House of their Eloah in Jerusalem. ¹⁷ Wherefore you shall buy promptly with this money bulls, rams, lambs their approach presents and their libations; and you shall offer them on the altar of the House of your Eloah in Jerusalem. ¹⁸ Whatever may seem good to you and to your brothers to do with the rest of the silver and the gold, you may do according to the decision of your Eloah. ¹⁹ The vessels that are provided for you for the service of the House of your Eloah, convey them before the Eloah in Jerusalem. ²⁰ The remaining requirements for the House of your Eloah which it falls to you to provide, you may provide from the king's house of depositories. ²¹ Now from me, king Artaxerxes, a decree is being promulgated to all the treasurers in the province Beyond-the-Stream, that everything that Ezra the priest, scholar in the edict of the Eloah of the heavens, may request from you, should be done promptly, ²² up to a hundred talents of silver, up to a hundred cors of wheat, up to a hundred baths of turbid wine, up to a hundred baths of oil, and salt without prescribed limit. ²³ Let all that is by the command of the Eloah of the heavens be done diligently for the House of the Eloah of the heavens, lest there be wrath against the realm of the king and his sons. ²⁴ And let it be known to you treasurers:As for any of the priests and the Levites, the musicians, the gatekeepers, the Nethinim and others serving at this House of Eloah, you have no authority to impose tribute, tax or toll on them. ²⁵ And you, Ezra, by the wisdom of your Eloah that is in your hand, assign judges and adjudicators who shall be adjudicating all the people in the province Beyond-the-Stream, all who are knowing the edicts of your Eloah; and you all shall teach anyone who does not know them. ²⁶ As for everyone who is not obeying the edict of your Eloah and the edict of the king, adjudication shall be promptly done to him, whether by death or by banishment, whether by a fine from his resources or by imprisonment. ²⁷ Blessed be Yahweh Elohim of our fathers, Who has put such as this into the heart of the king to beautify the House of Yahweh in Jerusalem. ²⁸ And He has stretched out kindness toward me from before the king and his counselors and all the masterful chiefs of the king. So I encouraged myself according to the hand of Yahweh my Elohim on me, and I convened the heads out of Israel to go up with me.

²⁸ And saying is He to him, "Not Jacob shall your name be called longer, but rather Israel is your name. For upright are you with the Elohim and with mortals, and are prevailing.

¹⁴ And the El-Who-Suffices give you compassion before the man, so that he lets your other brother and Benjamin go! And I, as I am bereaved, am I bereaved!"

²⁵ Eleazar, son of Aaron, took to himself one from the daughters of Putiel as his wife; and she bore for him Phinehas. These are the heads of the fathers of the Levites according to their families.

²¹ Now you shall perceive among all the people men of ability, fearful of Elohim, men of truth, hating gain. You will place these over them as chiefs of thousands, chiefs of hundreds, chiefs of fifties and chiefs of tens. ²² And they will judge the people in every season. Yet it will be that every great matter of dispute they shall bring to you, and every small matter shall they judge themselves. Lighten yourself from what is on you, and they will bear it with you. ²³ If you shall do this thing then Elohim will instruct you further, so you can stand. Moreover, all this people, it shall come upon its place in peace. ²⁴ So Moses hearkened to the voice of his father-in-law and did all that he had said. ²⁵ Moses chose men of ability from all Israel and set them as heads over the people, chiefs of thousands, chiefs of hundreds, chiefs of fifties and chiefs of tens.

¹ Now these are the judgments which you shall place before them. ² When you buy a Hebrew servant, six years shall he serve you, and in the seventh he shall go forth free gratuitously. ³ If by himself he came, by himself he shall go forth. If he was the possessor of a wife, then his wife will go forth with him. ⁴ Yet if his lord should give him a wife, and she bears for him sons or daughters, the wife and her children shall become her lord's, and he may go forth by himself. ⁵ Yet if the servant should say, yea say, I love my lord, my wife and my sons; I shall not go forth free, ⁶ then his lord will bring him close to the elohim, and bring him close to the door or to the jamb, and his lord will bore his ear with an awl; and he will serve him for the eon. ⁷ When a man sells his daughter as a maidservant, she shall not go forth as the male servants go forth. ⁸ If she is displeasing in the eyes of her lord, who has appointed her for himself, then he will let her be ransomed. To a foreign people he shall not rule to sell her because of his treachery with her. ⁹ If he is appointing her for his son, he shall deal with her as is customary with daughters. ¹⁰ If he is taking another for himself, he shall not diminish her meat, her covering and her cohabitation. " ¹¹ If these three things he is not doing for her then she will go forth gratuitously. There is no money paid. ¹² The smiter of a man that dies shall be put to death, yea death. ¹³ But if he had no malicious intent, yet the One, Elohim, He had fated him into his hand, then I set for you a place where he shall flee. ¹⁴ Yet in case a man was planning arrogantly against his associate so as to kill him by craft, from My altar shall you take him to die. ¹⁵ The smiter of his father or his mother shall be put to death, yea death. ¹⁶ He who steals a man whether he sells him or he is found in his hand, he shall be put to death, yea death. ¹⁷ The one maledicting his father or his mother shall be put to death, yea death. ¹⁸ When men contend, and a man smites his associate with a stone or with a fist, and he does not die yet falls into bed, ¹⁹ then if he shall rise and walk about outside on his staff the smiter is held innocent, but for his cessation he shall provide and shall make him heal, yea heal. ²⁰ When a man smites his servant or his maidservant with a club and he dies under his hand, he shall be avenged, yea avenged;" ²¹ only if he stands a day or two days he shall not be avenged, for he is his silver. " ²² When men strive together and strike a pregnant woman, and her child comes forth, and no mishap comes to be, he shall be fined, yea fined just as the woman's possessor shall impose on him, and he will pay through mediators. "

¹³ All of your approach presents shall you salt with salt; and you shall not cause the salt of the covenant of your Elohim to cease on your approach present. On all of your approach presents shall you bring salt near to Yahweh your Elohim.

⁶ Then Moses said to Aaron and to Eleazar and to Ithamar, his sons:Do not dishevel your heads' hair and do not rip your garments so that you may not die, lest He be wrathful with the whole congregation. Yet your brothers, all the house of Israel, they may lament over the burning which Yahweh has burned.

¹² Moses spoke to Aaron and to Eleazar and to Ithamar, his sons who were left:Take the approach present, the rest of the fire offerings of Yahweh, and eat it unleavened beside the altar, for it is a holy of holies.

¹⁶ Now as to the hairy goat of the sin offering, Moses inquired, yea inquired, but behold, it had been burned up. He was wrathful at Eleazar and at Ithamar, the sons of Aaron who were left, saying.

¹ Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying. ² To the sons of Israel you shall say, Any man of the sons of Israel and of the sojourners sojourning in Israel who should give any of his seed to Moloch shall be put to death, yea death. The people of the land shall pelt him with stones;" ³ I Myself shall set My face against that man and will cut him off from among his people (for he has given of his seed to Moloch) on account of the defilement of My sanctuary and the profanation of My holy name. ⁴ And if the people of the land should obscure, yea obscure their eyes from that man when he gives of his seed to Moloch, so as to avoid putting him to death, ⁵ then I Myself will set My face against that man and against his family and will cut off from among their people him and all those prostituting after him, to prostitute after Moloch. ⁶ As for the soul who should countenance mediums and wizards to prostitute after them, I will set My face against that soul also and cut him off from among his people. ⁷ Hence sanctify yourselves and become holy, for I, Yahweh, am your Elohim. ⁸ You will observe My statutes and keep them:I am Yahweh Who is hallowing you. ⁹ For any man who shall maledict his father or his mother shall be put to death, yea death. It is his father and his mother whom he maledicts; his blood-guilt will be on him. ¹⁰ As for a man who commits adultery with another man's wife--one who commits adultery with his associate's wife--the adulterer and the adulteress shall be put to death, yea death. ¹¹ As for a man who lies with his father's wife, he has exposed his father's nakedness. The two of them shall be put to death, yea death; their bloodguilt will be on them. ¹² And a man who lies with his daughter-in-law, the two of them shall be put to death, yea death. They have shown decadence; their bloodguilt will be on them. ¹³ As for a man who lies with a male as if going to bed with a woman, they do an abhorrence. The two of them shall be put to death, yea death; their bloodguilt will be on them. ¹⁴ As for a man who takes a woman and her mother, this is lewdness. With fire shall they burn him and them so that no such lewdness may come up in your midst. ¹⁵ As for a man who gives his emission to a beast, he shall be put to death, yea death, and the beast shall you kill. ¹⁶ As for a woman who approaches to any beast to copulate with it, you will kill the woman and the beast. They shall be put to death, yea death; their bloodguilt will be on them. ¹⁷ As for a man who takes his sister, the daughter of his father or the daughter of his mother, and sees her nakedness, and she sees his nakedness, this is a base thing, and they will be cut off before the eyes of the sons of their people. The nakedness of his sister has he exposed; his depravity shall he bear. ¹⁸ As for a man who lies with a menstruous woman and exposes her nakedness, he causes her fountain to be naked, and she exposes the fountain of her blood-flows. Then the two of them will be cut off from among their people. ¹⁹ The nakedness of your mother's sister or your father's sister you shall not expose, for he who does so causes his kin to be naked; their depravity shall they bear. ²⁰ As for a man who lies with his aunt, the nakedness of his uncle he has exposed. Their sin shall they bear; heirless shall they die. ²¹ As for a man who takes the wife of his brother, this is impurity. The nakedness of his brother has he exposed; heirless shall they become. ²² You shall observe all My statutes and all My judgments and keep them so that the land, where I am bringing you to dwell in it, shall not vomit you out. ²³ You shall not walk by the habitual statutes of the nations which I am casting out from your presence, for they have practiced all these things, and I am irritated with them. ²⁴ Yet I said to you:You shall tenant their ground, and I Myself shall give it to you to tenant it, a land gushing with milk and honey. I, Yahweh, am your Elohim, Who separates you from the peoples. ²⁵ Hence you will make a separation between the clean beast and the unclean and between the unclean flyer and the clean; and you shall not make your souls abominable by a beast or by a flyer or by anything that moves on the ground which I have separated for you to consider it unclean. ²⁶ So you will become holy to Me, for I, Yahweh, am holy, and I am separating you from the peoples to become Mine. ²⁷ A man or a woman, in case there is a medium or a wizard among them, they shall be put to death, yea death. With stones shall they pelt them; their bloodguilt is on them.

³² And the prince of the Levite princes was Eleazar son of Aaron the priest, with the supervision of those keeping charge of the holy place.

⁴ then the one approaching will bring near as his offering to Yahweh an approach present, a tenth of an ephah of flour mingled with a fourth of a hin of oil;" ⁵ as for wine for a libation you shall offer on the ascent offering or for a sacrifice a fourth of a hin with the one lamb. ⁶ Or for the ram you shall offer an approach present, two tenths of an ephah of flour mingled with a third of a hin of oil;" ⁷ as for wine for a libation you shall bring near a third of a hin, a fragrant odor to Yahweh. ⁸ In case you offer a bull calf of the herd as an ascent offering or a sacrifice for an extraordinary vow or peace offerings to Yahweh, ⁹ then one will bring near with the bull calf of the herd an approach present, three tenths of an ephah of flour mingled with half a hin of oil;" ¹⁰ as for wine you shall bring near for a libation, half a hin, as a fire offering of fragrant odor to Yahweh. ¹¹ Thus shall it be done for each bull or for each ram or for a flockling among the lambs or among the goats. ¹² According to the number which you offer thus shall you do for each in their number. ¹³ Every native shall do these things thus to bring near a fire offering of fragrant odor to Yahweh.

²⁵ Take Aaron and Eleazar his son, and bring them up to Mount Hor. ²⁶ Strip Aaron of his garments and put them on Eleazar his son. As for Aaron, he shall be gathered and will die there. ²⁷ Moses did just as Yahweh had instructed. They went up to Mount Hor before the eyes of the whole congregation. ²⁸ Moses stripped Aaron of his garments and put them on Eleazar his son; and Aaron died there on the summit of the mountain. When Moses and Eleazar descended from the mountain,

⁷ When Phineas, son of Eleazar, son of Aaron the priest, saw it, he arose from the midst of the congregation and took a lance in his hand. ⁸ He came after the man of Israel to the alcove and stabbed the two of them, the man of Israel and the woman, into her pelvis. Then the stroke was restrained from the sons of Israel. ⁹ Those dying in the stroke were twenty-four thousand. ¹⁰ Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying. ¹¹ Phineas, son of Eleazar, son of Aaron the priest, reversed My fury from the sons of Israel in his zeal for My jealousy in their midst so I did not finish the sons of Israel in My jealousy. ¹² Therefore say:Behold Me giving to him My covenant of peace; ¹³ it will be his and his seed's after him, the covenant of an eonian priesthood, inasmuch as he was zealous for his Elohim and made a propitiatory shelter over the sons of Israel.

² They stood before Moses and before Eleazar the priest, and before the princes and the whole congregation at the opening of the tent of appointment, saying.

⁶ Then Moses sent them out, a thousand per stock, as the militia host, and with them Phineas son of Eleazar the priest for the militia host, with the furnishings of the sanctuary and the bugles for the blast in his hand.

³¹ So Moses and Eleazar the priest did as Yahweh had instructed Moses.

⁵⁴ And Moses and Eleazar the priest took the gold from the chiefs of thousands and hundreds and brought it to the tent of appointment, a reminder for the sons of Israel before Yahweh.

⁵ See! I have taught you statutes and judgments just as Yahweh my Elohim had instructed me, for you to do thus within the land where you are entering to tenant it.

⁵ But rather for the place that Yahweh your Elohim shall choose from all your tribes, to establish His name there, you shall inquire for His tabernacle, and there will you come. ⁶ You will bring there your ascent offerings and your sacrifices, your tithes and the heave offerings of your hand, your vows offerings and your voluntary offerings, and the firstlings of your herd and your flock. ⁷ You will eat there before Yahweh your Elohim, and you will rejoice in every undertaking of your hand, you and your households with which Yahweh your Elohim has blessed you. ⁸ You shall not do according to all that we are doing here today, each man everything that is upright in his own eye. ⁹ because until now you have not come to the resting place and to the allotment that Yahweh your Elohim is giving to you. ¹⁰ When you cross over the Jordan and dwell in the land that Yahweh your Elohim is giving to you as an allotment, and He gives rest to you from all your enemies from round about, so that you may dwell in trust, ¹¹ then it will come to be:the place where Yahweh your Elohim shall choose to tabernacle His name, there shall you bring all that I am instructing you, your ascent offerings and your sacrifices, your tithes, the heave offerings of your hand and all your choice vow offerings which you shall vow to Yahweh.

¹ In case there arises a prophet or a dreamer of dreams among you, and he gives to you a sign or a miracle, ² and the sign or the miracle comes about, of which he spoke to you, saying:Let us go after other elohim (whom you have not known), and let us serve them, ³ you shall not hearken to the words of that prophet or to that dreamer of dreams because Yahweh your Elohim is probing you to know whether you are loving Yahweh your Elohim with all your heart and with all your soul. ⁴ After Yahweh your Elohim shall you go, and Him shall you fear; His instructions shall you observe, and to His voice shall you hearken; Him shall you serve, and to Him shall you cling. ⁵ Then that prophet or that dreamer of dreams shall be put to death because he spoke of defection from Yahweh your Elohim (the One bringing you forth from the country of Egypt and the One ransoming you from the house of servants) so as to induce you from the way in which Yahweh your Elohim has instructed you to walk. Hence eradicate the evil from among you. ⁶ In case your brother, the son of your father, or the son of your mother or your son or your daughter or the wife of your bosom or your associate who is as your own soul should incite you in concealment, saying:Let us go, and let us serve other elohim (whom you have not known, you or your fathers, ⁷ of the elohim of the peoples who are around you, those near to you or those far from you, from one end of the land to the other end of the land). ⁸ neither shall you comply with him, nor shall you hearken to him; neither shall your eye commiserate over him, nor shall you spare him; and you shall not cover up for him. ⁹ For you shall kill, yea kill him. Your hand shall be among the first against him to put him to death, and the hand of all the people thereafter. ¹⁰ You will stone him with stones so that he dies, for he sought to induce you away from Yahweh your Elohim, the One bringing you forth from the country of Egypt, from the house of servants. ¹¹ Thus all Israel shall hearken and fear, and they shall not again do anything like this evil thing among you. ¹² In case you hear it said of one of your cities which Yahweh your Elohim is giving to you to dwell there, ¹³ that men, sons of decadence, have gone forth from among you and induced the dwellers of their city, saying:Let us go, and let us serve other elohim (whom you have not known), ¹⁴ then you will inquire, investigate and ask diligently. And behold, if the truth of the matter is being established that this abhorrence was done among you, ¹⁵ then you shall smite, yea smite the dwellers of that city with the edge of the sword. Doom it, all those who are in it and its domestic beasts, with the edge of the sword. ¹⁶ All its loot shall you get together to the middle of its square, and you will burn the city with fire and all its loot as a holocaust to Yahweh your Elohim. It will become an eonian barrow; it shall not be built again. ¹⁷ Nothing whatsoever shall cling to your hand from the doomed loot so that Yahweh may turn back from the heat of His anger and be compassionate to you. He will show you compassion and cause you to increase, just as He had sworn to your fathers, ¹⁸ provided that you shall hearken to the voice of Yahweh your Elohim to observe all His instructions which I am enjoining on you today, to do what is upright and good in the eyes of Yahweh your Elohim.

²⁴ Yet in case the way is too much for you, so that you are not able to carry it because the place where Yahweh your Elohim shall choose to place His name is far from you (seeing that Yahweh your Elohim has blessed you), ²⁵ then you will convert it into silver, bundle the silver in your hand and go to the place that Yahweh your Elohim shall choose. ²⁶ You will give the silver for anything after which your soul may yearn:for one of the herd or one of the flock, for wine, for intoxicant or for anything which your soul may ask of you; then you will eat there before Yahweh your Elohim, and you will rejoice, you and your household.

¹² Remember that you had become a servant in the country of Egypt; hence observe and obey these statutes.

¹⁸ You shall appoint judges and superintendents for yourselves in all your gates which Yahweh your Elohim is giving to you for your tribes; and they will judge the people with just judgment.

¹⁸ It will come to be when he is seated on the throne of his kingdom, that he will write for himself a duplicate of this law on a scroll from the one before the priests, the Levites. ¹⁹ And it will be with him, and he will read in it all the days of his life that he may learn:to fear Yahweh your Elohim, to observe all the words of this law and these statutes to obey them,

¹ It will come to be if you should hearken, yea hearken to the voice of Yahweh your Elohim, to observe and to keep all His instructions which I am enjoining on you today, that Yahweh your Elohim will give you supremacy over all the nations of the earth.

¹⁰ They shall direct Your judgments for Jacob, and Your law for Israel. They shall bring incense to Your nostrils and a holocaust on Your altar.

¹ And these [are] they [of] the sons of Israel who inherited in the land of Canaan, whom Eleazar the priest, and Joshua son of Nun, and the heads of the fathers of the tribes of the sons of Israel, caused to inherit;"

¹³ and the sons of Israel send unto the sons of Reuben, and unto the sons of Gad, and unto the half of the tribe of Manasseh--unto the land of Gilead--Phinehas son of Eleazar the priest,

³¹ And Phinehas son of Eleazar the priest said unto the sons of Reuben, and unto the sons of Gad, and unto the sons of Manasseh, `To-day we have known that Yahweh [is] in our midst, because you have not committed against Yahweh this trespass--then you have delivered the sons of Israel out of the hand of Yahweh..

³³ And Eleazar son of Aaron died, and they bury him in the hill of Phinehas his son, which was given to him in the hill-country of Ephraim.

²⁸ and Phinehas son of Eleazar, son of Aaron, is standing before it in those days--saying, `Do I add again to go out to battle with the sons of Benjamin, my brother, or do I cease?' And Yahweh said, `Go up, for to-morrow I give him into your hand..

³ And Samuel speaks unto all the house of Israel, saying, `If with all your heart you are turning back unto Yahweh--turn aside the elohims of the stranger from your midst, and Ashtaroth; and prepare your heart unto Yahweh, and serve Him only, and He does deliver you out of the hand of the Philistines..

¹⁷ and Zadok son of Ahitub, and Ahimelech son of Abiathar, [are] priests, and Seraiah [is] scribe,

³⁵ and the king puts Benaiah son of Jehoiada in his stead over the host, and Zadok the priest has the king put in the stead of Abiathar.

²⁸ And all Israel hear of the judgment that the king has judged, and fear because of the king, for they have seen that the wisdom of Elohim [is] in his heart, to do judgment.

²⁴ for he is ruling over all beyond the river, from Tiphsah and unto Gaza, over all the kings beyond the river, and he has peace from all his servants round about.

¹ And Ben-Hadad king of Aram has gathered all his force, and thirty and two kings [are] with him, and horse and chariot, and he goes up and lays siege against Samaria, and fights with it,

¹⁵ and they do not reckon with the men into whose hand they give the money to give to those doing the work, for in faithfulness they are dealing.

⁴ `Go up unto Hilkiah the high priest, and he does complete the silver that is brought into the house of Yahweh, that the keepers of the threshold have gathered from the people,

⁷ only, the silver that is given into their hand is not reckoned with them, for in faithfulness they are dealing. ⁸ And Hilkiah the high priest said unto Shaphan the scribe, `A book of the law I have found in the house of Yahweh;' and Hilkiah gives the book unto Shaphan, and he reads it.

¹⁸ And the chief of the executioners takes Seraiah the head priest, and Zephaniah the second priest, and the three keepers of the threshold,

⁴ Eleazar begat Phinehas, Phinehas begat Abishua,

⁴ Eleazar begat Phinehas, Phinehas begat Abishua, ⁵ and Abishua begat Bukki, and Bukki begat Uzzi, ⁶ and Uzzi begat Zerahiah, and Zerahiah begat Meraioth, ⁷ Meraioth begat Amariah, and Amariah begat Ahitub, ⁸ and Ahitub begat Zadok, and Zadok begat Ahimaaz, ⁹ and Ahimaaz begat Azariah, and Azariah begat Johanan, ¹⁰ and Johanan begat Azariah, him who acted as priest in the house that Solomon built in Jerusalem. ¹¹ And Azariah begets Amariah, and Amariah begat Ahitub, ¹² and Ahitub begat Zadok, and Zadok begat Shallum, ¹³ and Shallum begat Hilkiah, and Hilkiah begat Azariah, ¹⁴ and Azariah begat Seraiah, and Seraiah begat Jehozadak;"

As a thick cloud are they flying, and as doves to their crevices." ⁹ For to Me the boats of the coastlands are stretching, and the ships of Tharshish among the first, to bring your sons from afar, their silver and their gold with them, to the name of Yahweh, your Elohim, and to the Holy One of Israel, for He beautifies you."

¹³ Its glory does Lebanon give to you, and to you it shall come; the fir, and the elm, and the box tree together, to beautify the place of My sanctuary, when the place of My feet will I glorify."

¹⁷ At that time they cry to Jerusalem, `O throne of Yahweh,' And gathered unto her has been all the nations, For the name of Yahweh, to Jerusalem, Nor do they go any more after the stubbornness of their evil heart."

⁸ How do you say, We [are] wise, And the law of Yahweh [is] with us? Surely, lo, falsely it has wrought, The false pen of scribes."

²⁴ And the chief of the executioners takes Seraiah the head priest, and Zephaniah the second priest, and the three keepers of the threshold, ²⁵ and out of the city he has taken a certain eunuch, who has been inspector over the men of war, and seven men of those seeing the king's face, who have been found in the city, and the head scribe of the host, who musters the people of the land, and sixty men of the people of the land, who are found in the midst of the city;" ²⁶ and Nebuzar-Adan, chief of the executioners, takes them, and brings them unto the king of Babylon to Riblah, ²⁷ and the king of Babylon smites them, and puts them to death in Riblah, in the land of Hamath, and he removes Judah from off its own ground."

⁷ For, thus said the Lord Yahweh:Lo, I am bringing in unto Tyre Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, From the north--a king of kings, With horse, and with chariot, and with horsemen, Even an assembly, and a numerous people."

¹⁴ and the portion of oil, the bath of oil, a tenth part of the bath out of the cor, a homer of ten baths--for ten baths [are] a homer;"

³⁷ You, O king, are king of kings, seeing that the Eloah of the heavens grants a safeguarded kingdom to you, and might and honor and esteem."

⁴⁷ Answering is the king to Daniel and saying, "In verity, your Eloah, He is the Eloah of elohim, Lord of kings, and only Revealer of hidden secrets, seeing that you can reveal this secret."

²⁸ Responding is king Nebuchadnezzar and saying, "Blessed be their Eloah--that of Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-nego--Who sent His messenger and delivered His servants who are relying on Him, when they alter the king's declaration. They granted their frames to the fire, seeing that they will not serve, neither worship any other eloah, only their Eloah." ²⁹ Now from me shall be promulgated a decree that, in every people, league, and language-group, whoever is saying aught carelessly against their Eloah--that of Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-nego--shall be dismembered and his house shall be the equivalent of a confiscation, forasmuch as there is actually not another Eloah Who can rescue as this One."

²⁰ In a fluster he departs to the vault of the lions, and, as he is near the vault, he cries out to Daniel in a staunch voice. Calling is the king to Daniel and saying, "Daniel, servant of the living Eloah, your Eloah Whom you are serving in abidance, He could deliver you from the mouths of the lions?

²⁶ From before me is promulgated this decree:In every authority of my kingdom be they stirred and terrified before Daniel's Eloah:He is the living Eloah and is set up for the eons. His kingdom shall not come to harm and His jurisdiction is till the terminus.

⁷ And he is calling a convocation, and he is saying in Nineveh, By the decree of the king and his great ones, saying:Human and beast, herd and flock must not be tasting aught. They must not be grazing, and water they must not be drinking."

³ And it shall come to be in that day, I will make Jerusalem a stone, a lading for all the peoples; all laden with it shall be sorely lacerated, and all the nations of the earth shall be gathered against it."

⁷ For the lips of a priest shall keep knowledge, and the law shall they seek from his mouth, for the messenger of Yahweh of hosts is he."

¹⁹ Whosoever, then, should be annulling one of the least of these precepts, and should be teaching men thus, the least in the kingdom of the heavens shall he be called. Yet whoever should be doing and teaching them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of the heavens.

²⁴ Everyone, then, who is hearing these sayings of Mine and is doing them shall be likened to a prudent man who builds his house on the rock."

⁵² Now He said to them, "Therefore every scribe made a disciple in the kingdom of the heavens is like a man, a householder, who is extracting out of his treasure things new and old."

¹² And Jesus entered into the sanctuary and cast out all those selling and buying in the sanctuary, and the tables of the brokers He overturns, and the seats of those selling doves." ¹³ And He is saying to them, "It is written, 'My house a house of prayer shall be called,' yet you are making it a burglars' cave."

² saying, "On Moses' seat are seated the scribes and the Pharisees."

² saying, "On Moses' seat are seated the scribes and the Pharisees." ³ All, then, whatever they should be saying to you, do and keep it. Yet according to their acts do not be doing, for they are saying and not doing."

¹³ Now woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for you are locking the kingdom of the heavens in front of men. For you are not entering, neither are you letting those entering to enter."

²⁰ teaching them to be keeping all, whatever I direct you. And lo! I am with you all the days till the conclusion of the eon! Amen!"

³⁴ And, coming out, Jesus perceived a vast throng, and He has compassion on them, for they were as sheep not having a shepherd, and He begins to teach them much."

¹ And gathering to Him are the Pharisees and some of the scribes coming from Jerusalem. ² And perceiving some of His disciples, that with contaminated (that is, unwashed) hands they eat bread" ³ (for the Pharisees and all the Jews, if ever they should not be washing the hands with the fist, are not eating, holding the tradition of the elders;" ⁴ and from the market, except they should be sprinkled, they are not eating; and many other things are there which they accepted to hold, the baptizing of cups and ewers and copper vessels and of couches), ⁵ the Pharisees also, and the scribes are inquiring of Him, "Wherefore are not your disciples walking according to the tradition of the elders, but with unwashed hands are eating bread? ⁶ Yet He, answering, said to them that "Ideally prophesies Isaiah concerning you hypocrites, as it is written, that This people with their lips is honoring Me, Yet their heart is away at a distance from Me." ⁷ Yet in vain are they revering Me, teaching for teachings the directions of men." ⁸ For, leaving the precept of God, you are holding the tradition of men of the baptism of ewers and cups. And many such like things you are doing." ⁹ And He said to them, "Ideally are you repudiating the precept of God, that you should be keeping your tradition." ¹⁰ For Moses said, 'Honor your father and your mother,' and, He who is saying aught that is evil of father or mother, let him decease in death." ¹¹ Yet you are saying, 'If a man should be saying to father or mother, "A corban (which is an approach present) is whatsoever you may be benefitted by me,'" ¹² no longer are you letting him do anything for his father or his mother, ¹³ invalidating the word of God by your tradition which you give over. And many such like things you are doing."

⁶ Now he said to him, 'A hundred baths of oil.' Now he said to him, 'Receive your bills, and, being seated, quickly write fifty.'" ⁷ Thereupon to another he said, 'Now you, how much are you owing?' Now he said, 'A hundred cors of grain.' And he is saying to him, 'Receive your bills, and write eighty.'"

¹⁴ And He found in the sanctuary those selling oxen and sheep and doves, and the money changers sitting."

¹⁷ If you are aware of these things, happy are you if you should be doing them!"

¹ The first account, indeed, I make, O Theophilus, concerning all which Jesus begins both to do and to teach,

¹⁴ How, then, should they be invoking One in Whom they do not believe? Yet how should they be believing One of Whom they do not hear? Yet how should they be hearing apart from one heralding? ¹⁵ Yet how should they be heralding if ever they should not be commissioned? According as it is written: How beautiful are the feet of those bringing an evangel of good! ¹⁶ But not all obey the evangel, for Isaiah is saying, "Lord, who believes our tidings? ¹⁷ Consequently, faith is out of tidings, yet the tidings through a declaration of Christ."

²⁰ Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the discusser of this eon? Does not God make stupid the wisdom of this world?

¹ Now I am making known to you, brethren, the evangel which I bring to you, which also you accepted, in which also you stand,

¹² For if eagerness lies before, it is most acceptable according to whatever one may have, not according to what he has not."

¹⁶ Now thanks be to God, Who is imparting the same diligence for you to the heart of Titus,

⁷ each according as he has proposed in his heart, not sorrowfully, nor of compulsion, for the gleeful giver is loved by God."

¹⁷ Therefore do not become imprudent, but understand what the will of the Lord is."

¹³ for it is God Who is operating in you to will as well as to work for the sake of His delight.

¹⁰ Now I rejoiced in the Lord greatly that at length, for once your disposition toward me blossomed, to which you were disposed also, yet you lacked occasion."

¹ For the rest, then, brethren, we are asking you and entreating in the Lord Jesus, that, according as you accepted from us how you must be walking and pleasing God (according as you are walking also), that you may be superabounding yet more, ² for you are aware what charges we give to you through the Lord Jesus.

² The supervisor, then, must be irreprehensible, the husband of one wife, sober, sane, decorous, hospitable, apt to teach,

¹⁵ which, to its own eras, the happy and only Potentate will be showing: He is King of kings and Lord of lords,

² Herald the word. Stand by it, opportunely, inopportunely, expose, rebuke, entreat, with all patience and teaching."

¹⁷ May it not be reckoned against them! Yet the Lord stood beside me, and He invigorates me, that through me the heralding may be fully discharged, and all the nations should hear; and I am rescued out of the mouth of the lion." ¹⁸ The Lord will be rescuing me from every wicked work and will be saving me for His celestial kingdom: to Whom be glory for the eons of the eons. Amen!

¹ Now you be speaking what is becoming to sound teaching.

¹⁵ Speak of these things and entreat and expose with every injunction. Let no one slight you.

⁴ And not for himself is anyone getting the honor, but on being called by God even as Aaron, also."

¹⁰ For this is the covenant which I shall be covenanting with the house of Israel after those days,the Lord is saying: "Imparting My laws to their comprehension, On their hearts, also, shall I be inscribing them, And I shall be to them for a God, And they shall be to Me for a people."

¹⁶ 'This is the covenant which I shall be covenanting with them after those days,' the Lord is saying, 'imparting My laws to their hearts, I shall be inscribing them on their comprehension also,

⁵ Now if anyone of you is lacking wisdom, let him be requesting it from God, Who is giving to all generously and is not reproaching, and it shall be given to him."

¹⁷ All good giving and every perfect gratuity is from above, descending from the Father of lights, in Whom there is no mutation or shadow from revolving motion."

¹⁷ Now the wisdom from above is first, indeed, pure, thereupon peaceable, lenient, compliant, bulging with mercy and good fruits, undiscriminating, unfeigned." ¹⁸ Now the fruit of righteousness is being sown in peace for those making peace.

¹⁴ These will be battling with the Lambkin, and the Lambkin will be conquering them, seeing that It is Lord of lords and King of kings, and those with It are called and chosen and faithful."

¹⁷ for God imparts to their hearts to form His opinion, and to form one opinion, and to give their kingdom to the wild beast, until the words of God shall be accomplished."

¹⁶ And on His cloak and on His thigh He has a name written: "King of kings and Lord of lords."

²⁴ And the nations shall be walking by means of its light, and the kings of the earth are carrying their glory into it." ²⁵ And its portals should under no circumstances be locked by day; for there shall be no night there. ²⁶ And they shall be carrying the glory and the honor of the nations into it,

¹⁴ Happy are those who are rinsing their robes, that it will be their license to the log of life, and they may be entering the portals into the city."

¹⁷ And the spirit and the bride are saying, 'Come!' and let him who is hearing say, 'Come!' And let him who is thirsting come. Let him who will, take the water of life gratuitously."
