¹³ In your uncleanness [is] wickedness, Because I have cleansed you, And you have not been cleansed, From your uncleanness you are not cleansed again, Till I have caused My fury to rest on you."

¹⁴ Also, all the heads of the priests, and the people, having multiplied to commit a trespass according to all the abominations of the nations, and they defile the house of Yahweh that He has sanctified in Jerusalem. ¹⁵ And Yahweh, Elohim of their fathers, sends unto them by the hand of His messengers--rising early and sending--for He has had pity on His people, and on His habitation, ¹⁶ and they are mocking at the messengers of Elohim, and despising His words, and acting deceitfully with His prophets, till the going up of the fury of Yahweh against His people--till there is no healing.

⁴ what is there to do further for My vineyard, that I have not done for it? For what reason, when I expect it to yield grapes, yet it is yielding stinking fruit? ⁵ And now, pray, I shall make known to you what I will do to My vineyard:I will take away its hedge, and it comes to be consumed. I breach its stone dike, and it comes to be tramped." ⁶ And I am making My vineyard into a chaos, and it is not being pruned. And not being hoed, and up come buckthorn and spines. And I am instructing the thick clouds over it to keep from raining rain on it."

¹³ Yet the people do not return unto their Smiter, and of Yahweh of hosts they do not inquire." ¹⁴ And Yahweh will cut off from Israel head and tail, frond and rush in one day." ¹⁵ The elder and reputable, he is the head, and a prophet directing with falsehood, he is the tail." ¹⁶ And they are coming to make this people happy, leading them astray, and those being made happy will be swallowed up." ¹⁷ Therefore, their choice men my Lord will not spare, and on their orphans and their widows He will not have compassion, for all of them are polluted and doing evil, and every mouth speaks decadence. In all this His anger does not reverse, and His hand is outstretched still!"

²⁸ All of them are turned aside by apostates, Walking slanderously--brass and iron, All of them are corrupters." ²⁹ The bellows have been burnt, By fire has the lead been consumed, In vain has a refiner refined, And the wicked have not been drawn away." ³⁰ `Silver rejected,' they have called to them, For Yahweh has kicked against them!"

³ `From the thirteenth year of Josiah son of Amon king of Judah, and unto this day--this three and twentieth year--has the word of Yahweh been unto me, and I speak unto you, rising early and speaking, and you have not hearkened;" <sup>4</sup> And Yahweh has sent unto you all His servants, the prophets, rising early and sending, and you have not hearkened, nor inclined your ear to hear, saying:" <sup>5</sup> `Turn back, I pray you, each from his evil way, and from the evil of your doings, and dwell on the ground that Yahweh has given to you and to your fathers from eon unto eon, ⁶ And you do not go after other elohims to serve them, and to bow yourselves to them, nor do you provoke Me to anger with the work of your hands, and I do no evil to you;" ⁷ And you have not hearkened unto Me--an affirmation of Yahweh--so as to provoke Me to anger with the work of your hands for evil to you.

¹⁸ I have surely heard Ephraim bemoaning himself, `You have chastised me, And I am chastised, as a heifer not taught, Turn me back, and I turn back, For you [are] Yahweh my Elohim."

¹³ And completed has been Mine anger, And I have caused My fury to rest on them, And I have been comforted, And they have known that I, Yahweh, have spoken in My zeal, In My completing My fury on them."

¹⁸ And I also deal in fury, Mine eye does not pity, nor do I spare, and they have cried in Mine ears--a loud voice--and I do not hear them.'"

⁴² And I have caused My fury against you to rest, And My jealousy has turned aside from you, And I have been quiet, and I am not angry any more."

²⁴ `Son of man, say to it, You [are] a land, It [is] not cleansed nor rained on in a day of indignation."

³⁶ And Yahweh said unto me, `Son of man, Do you judge Aholah and Aholibah? Declare then to them their abominations." ³⁷ For they have committed adultery, And blood [is] in their hands, With their idols they committed adultery, And also their sons whom they bore to Me, They caused to pass over to them for food." ³⁸ Again, this they have done to Me, They defiled My sanctuary in that day, And My sabbaths they have polluted." ³⁹ And in their slaughtering their sons to their idols They also come in unto My sanctuary in that day to pollute it, And lo, thus they have done in the midst of My house, ⁴⁰ And also that they send to men coming from afar, Unto whom a messenger is sent, And lo, they have come in for whom you have washed, Painted your eyes, and put on adornment." ⁴¹ And you have sat on a couch of honor, And a table arrayed before it, And My perfume and My oil placed on it." ⁴² And the voice of a multitude at ease [is] with her, And unto men of the common people are brought in Sabeans from the wilderness, And they put bracelets on their hands, And a beauteous crown on their heads." ⁴³ And I say of the worn-out one in adulteries, Now they commit her whoredoms--she also!" ⁴⁴ And they come in unto her, As the coming in unto a whorish woman, So they have come in unto Aholah, And unto Aholibah--the wicked women." ⁴⁵ As to righteous men, they judge them with the judgment of adulteresses, And the judgment of women shedding blood, For they [are] adulteresses, And blood [is] in their hands." ⁴⁶ For thus said the Lord Yahweh:Bring up against them an assembly, And give them to trembling and to spoiling." ⁴⁷ And they have cast at them the stone of the assembly, And cut them with their swords, Their sons and their daughters they do slay, And their houses with fire they burn." ⁴⁸ And I have caused wickedness to cease from the land, And instructed have been all the women, And they do not according to your wickedness."

¹¹ And cause it to stand on its coals empty, So that its brass is hot and burning, Melted has been in its midst its uncleanness, Consumed is its scum."

¹ as My healing is for Israel, then the depravity of Ephraim is revealed and the evils of Samaria. For they contrive falsehood, and the thief is coming, and the raiding party emerges into the street."

⁹ Aliens devour his vigor, yet he does not know. Moreover, grey hair sprinkles on him, yet he does not know." ¹⁰ The pomp of Israel answers to his face, yet they do not return to Yahweh their Elohim, nor do they seek Him in all this." ¹¹ And Ephraim is becoming as an enticing, heartless dove. On Egypt they call; to Assyria they go." ¹² Just as they are going I will spread My net over them; as if a flyer of the heavens I will bring them down. I will discipline them as the report to their congregation. ¹³ Woe to them! for they wander from Me. Devastation to them! for they transgress against Me. When I am ransoming them, then they speak lies against Me." ¹⁴ And they do not cry out to Me with their heart, for they are howling on their beds; over grain and grape juice they are stirring themselves up; they are withdrawing from Me." ¹⁵ And I disciplined; I made their arm steadfast, yet against Me are they devising evil." ¹⁶ They are not returning to the Supreme; they become as a deceptive bow. Their chiefs shall fall by the sword, because of the menace of their tongue; this shall be their derision in the land of Egypt."

⁶ And, moreover, I give you teeth innocent of food in all your cities, and lack of bread in all your places. Yet you do not return unto Me, (averring is Yahweh)." ⁷ And, moreover, I withhold from you the downpour, while still three months to harvest, and I cause rain on one city, and on another city I am not causing rain; one portion was rained upon, and the portion upon which I am not causing rain is drying up." ⁸ And two or three cities rove to one city to drink water, yet they are not satisfied. Yet you do not return unto Me, (averring is Yahweh)." ⁹ I smite you with blasting and with green mold. The increase of your gardens and your vineyards and your figs and your olives, the larva of the locust is devouring. Yet you do not return unto Me, (averring is Yahweh)." ¹⁰ I send among you a plague in the way as in Egypt. I kill your chosen men by the sword, with the captivity of your horses, and I am making the stink of your camp ascend even in your nose. Yet you do not return unto Me, (averring is Yahweh)." ¹¹ I overturn among you as Elohim overturned Sodom and Gomorrah, and you are becoming as a wooden poker rescued from the burning. Yet you do not return unto Me, (averring is Yahweh)." ¹² Wherefore, thus will I do to you, Israel! Inasmuch that this I will do to you, prepare to meet your Elohim, O Israel!"

² She hearkens not to a voice; she takes no discipline; in Yahweh she does not trust; to her Elohim she does not draw near.

⁷ I say, Yea, you shall fear Me; you shall take discipline. And all which I have visited upon her is not being cut off from her eyes. Being prepared, they rose early; they ruined all their practices."

³⁷ Jerusalem! Jerusalem! who art killing the prophets and pelting with stones those who have been dispatched to her! How many times do I want to assemble your children in the manner a hen is assembling her brood under her wings-and you will not!" ³⁸ Lo! left is your house to you desolate.

⁷ Now he said to the vineyardist, 'Lo! For three years I am coming seeking fruit on this fig tree, and I am not finding any. Hew it down, then. Why is it making the land unproductive also?'" ⁸ Yet he, answering, is saying to him, 'Lord, leave it this year also, till I shall be digging and casting manure about it." ⁹ And if, indeed, it ever should be producing fruit in the impending year-otherwise you shall surely hew it down.'"

⁸ yet to those of faction and stubborn, indeed, as to the truth, yet persuaded to injustice, indignation and fury, ⁹ affliction and distress, on every human soul which is effecting evil, both of the Jew first and of the Greek,

¹ Having, then, these promises, beloved, we should be cleansing ourselves from every pollution of flesh and spirit, completing holiness in the fear of God."

¹¹ Let the injurer injure still; and let the filthy one be filthy still; and let the just one do righteousness still; and let the holy one be hallowed still."
