1 And the people of the land take Jehoahaz son of Josiah, and cause him to reign instead of his father in Jerusalem. 2 A son of three and twenty years [is] Jehoahaz in his reigning, and three months he has reigned in Jerusalem, 3 and turn him aside does the king of Egypt in Jerusalem, and fines the land a hundred talents of silver, and a talent of gold;" 4 and the king of Egypt causes Eliakim his brother to reign over Judah and Jerusalem, and turns his name to Jehoiakim; and Jehoahaz his brother has Necho taken, and brings him in to Egypt. 5 A son of twenty and five years [is] Jehoiakim in his reigning, and eleven years he has reigned in Jerusalem, and he does the evil thing in the eyes of Yahweh his Elohim;" 6 against him has Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon come up, and binds him in brazen fetters to take him away to Babylon. 7 And of the vessels of the house of Yahweh has Nebuchadnezzar brought in to Babylon, and puts them in his temple in Babylon. 8 And the rest of the matters of Jehoiakim, and his abominations that he has done, and that which is found against him, lo, they are written on the book of the kings of Israel and Judah, and reign does Jehoiachin his son in his stead. 9 A son of eight years is Jehoiachin in his reigning, and three months and ten days he has reigned in Jerusalem, and he does the evil thing in the eyes of Yahweh;" 10 and at the turn of the year has king Nebuchadnezzar sent and brings him in to Babylon, with the desirable vessels of the house of Yahweh, and causes Zedekiah his brother to reign over Judah and Jerusalem. 11 A son of twenty and one years [is] Zedekiah in his reigning, and eleven years he has reigned in Jerusalem;" 12 and he does the evil thing in the eyes of Yahweh his Elohim, he has not been humbled before Jeremiah the prophet [speaking] from the mouth of Yahweh;" 13 and also, against king Nebuchadnezzar he has rebelled, who had caused him to swear by Elohim, and he hardens his neck, and strengthens his heart, against turning back unto Yahweh, Elohim of Israel. 14 Also, all the heads of the priests, and the people, having multiplied to commit a trespass according to all the abominations of the nations, and they defile the house of Yahweh that He has sanctified in Jerusalem. 15 And Yahweh, Elohim of their fathers, sends unto them by the hand of His messengers--rising early and sending--for He has had pity on His people, and on His habitation, 16 and they are mocking at the messengers of Elohim, and despising His words, and acting deceitfully with His prophets, till the going up of the fury of Yahweh against His people--till there is no healing. 17 And He causes to go up against them the king of the Chaldeans, and he slays their chosen ones by the sword in the house of their sanctuary, and has had no pity on young man and virgin, old man and very aged--the whole He has given into his hand. 18 And all the vessels of the house of Elohim, the great and the small, and the treasures of the house of Yahweh, and the treasures of the king and of his princes--the whole he has brought in to Babylon. 19 And they burn the house of Elohim, and break down the wall of Jerusalem, and all its palaces they have burnt with fire, and all its desirable vessels--to destruction. 20 And he removes those left of the sword unto Babylon, and they are to him and to his sons for servants, till the reigning of the kingdom of Persia, 21 to fulfil the word of Yahweh in the mouth of Jeremiah, till the land has enjoyed its sabbaths; all the days of the desolation it kept sabbath--to the fulness of seventy years. 22 And in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, at the completion of the word of Yahweh in the mouth of Jeremiah, has Yahweh waked up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, and he causes an intimation to pass over into all his kingdom, and also in writing, saying, 23 `Thus said Cyrus king of Persia, All kingdoms of the earth has Yahweh, Elohim of the heavens, given to me, and He has laid a charge on me to build to Him a house in Jerusalem, that [is] in Judah; who is among you of all His people? Yahweh his Elohim [is] with him, and he does go up..

4 Yet in the seventh year there shall be a sabbath of cessation for the land, a sabbath to Yahweh. Your field you shall not sow, and your vineyard you shall not prune;" 5 The self-sown of your harvest you shall not reap, and the grapes of your untrimmed vines you shall not pick. A year of cessation shall it be for the land. 6 Yet the sabbath yield of the land you will come to have as food for you, for your servant and for your maidservant, for your hireling and for your guest, those sojourning with you,

Leviticus 26:14-46

14 Yet if you neither hearken to Me nor observe all these instructions, 15 and if you reject My statutes, and if your soul loathes My judgments so as not to observe all My instructions, to cause you to annul My covenant, 16 indeed, I Myself shall do this to you:I will visit panic upon you, attenuation and fever, making the eyesight vanish and causing the soul to pine; and you will sow your seed for naught, for your enemies will eat it. 17 I will set My face against you, and you will be struck down before your enemies; those hating you will hold sway over you, and you will flee even when there is no one pursuing you. 18 And if, after these things, you should not hearken to Me, then I will continue to discipline you sevenfold for your sins. 19 I will break the pomp of your strength and make your heavens like iron and your land like copper. 20 Your vigor will be spent for naught, and your land shall not give its crop, and the tree of the field shall not give its fruit. 21 If you go contrary to Me and are not willing to hearken to Me, then I will add smitings to you sevenfold according to your sins. 22 I will send the animal of the field against you, and it will bereave you, cut off your domestic beasts and so decrease you that your roads will be desolated. 23 If by these you should not be disciplined for Me and go contrary to Me, 24 then I will, indeed, go contrary to you, and I Myself will even smite you sevenfold for your sins. 25 I will bring the sword on you avenging the vengeance of the covenant. When you will be gathered into your cities then I will send the plague into your midst, and you will be given into the hand of the enemy. 26 When I break the stock of bread for you then ten women will bake your bread in one stove and return your bread by weight so that you will eat and not be satisfied. 27 If by this you should not hearken to Me and go contrary to Me, 28 then I will go contrary to you in fury. And I Myself, indeed, will discipline you sevenfold for your sins. 29 You will eat the flesh of your sons, and the flesh of your daughters shall you eat. 30 I will exterminate your fane heights, cut down your incense stands and bestow your corpses upon the corpses of your idol clods; thus My soul will loathe you. 31 I will turn your cities into a desert and make your sanctuary desolate; I shall not smell your fragrant odor. 32 I will make the land so desolate, that your enemies, the ones dwelling in it, will be dejected over it. 33 And you I shall winnow among the nations, and I will unsheathe a sword after you so that your land will become a desolation and your cities become a desert. 34 Then the land shall accept its sabbaths all the days of its desolation when you are in the land of your enemies. Then the land shall pause for a sabbath and cause its missing sabbaths to be accepted.

Leviticus 26:34-35

34 Then the land shall accept its sabbaths all the days of its desolation when you are in the land of your enemies. Then the land shall pause for a sabbath and cause its missing sabbaths to be accepted. 35 All the days of its desolation it shall pause for a sabbath, which days it did not pause in your sabbath years when you dwelt on it.

Leviticus 26:35-35

35 All the days of its desolation it shall pause for a sabbath, which days it did not pause in your sabbath years when you dwelt on it. 36 As for the remainder among you, I will also bring timidity into their heart in the lands of their enemies so that the sound of a leaf being whisked away will pursue them, and they will flee as if in flight from the sword; they will fall even when there is no one pursuing. 37 They will stumble, a man over his brother, as though in view of the sword when there is no pursuer, and you shall come to have no standing space before your enemies. 38 You will perish among the nations, and the land of your enemies will devour you. 39 The remainder among you shall be putrid over their depravity in the lands of your enemies, and also over the depravities of their fathers with them shall they be putrid. 40 If they will confess their depravity and the depravity of their fathers in their offense (when they had offended Me and, indeed, when they had gone contrary to M. 41 so that I Myself also went contrary to them and brought them into the land of their enemies), if then their uncircumcised heart should submit, and if then they should accept their depravity, 42 then I will remember My covenant with Jacob and also My covenant with Isaac; also My covenant with Abraham shall I remember, and the land shall I remember. 43 Yet the land, it shall be forsaken of them and shall accept its sabbath years while it is desolate without them, and they themselves shall accept their depravity because, yes because they had rejected My judgments and their soul had loathed My statutes.

Leviticus 26:43

43 Yet the land, it shall be forsaken of them and shall accept its sabbath years while it is desolate without them, and they themselves shall accept their depravity because, yes because they had rejected My judgments and their soul had loathed My statutes. 44 Yet in spite of this, when they are in the land of their enemies I will not reject them nor loathe them so as to finish them, to annul My covenant with them, for I, Yahweh, am their Elohim. 45 For their benefit I will remember the covenant with the former ones whom I brought forth from the land of Egypt before the eyes of the nations to be their Elohim; I am Yahweh. 46 These are the statutes, the judgments and the laws which Yahweh put between Him and the sons of Israel on Mount Sinai by means of Moses.

Deuteronomy 28:15-68

15 It will come to be if you do not hearken to the voice of Yahweh your Elohim to observe and to do all His instructions and His statutes that I am enjoining on you today, that all these maledictions will come on you and overtake you. 16 Cursed be you in the city, and cursed be you in the field. 17 Cursed be your basket and your kneading-trough. 18 Cursed be the fruit of your belly, the fruit of your ground and the fruit of your beast, the calving of your domestic animals and the lambing of your flock. 19 Cursed be you in your coming in, and cursed be you in your going forth. 20 Yahweh shall send the curse, the discomfiture and the rebuke on you in every undertaking of your hand that you shall do, until you are exterminated and you perish quickly, in view of the evil of your actions in which you have forsaken Me. 21 Yahweh shall cause the plague to cling to you until He finishes you off the ground where you are entering to tenant it. 22 Yahweh shall smite you with attenuation, with fever and inflammation, with hot heat and drought, with blasting and mildew, and they will pursue you until you perish. 23 Your heavens that are over your head will come to be as copper, and the earth that is beneath you as iron. 24 Yahweh shall make the rain of your land to be dust and soil-drifts; from the heavens it shall descend on you until you are exterminated. 25 Yahweh shall make you to be struck down before your enemies. By a single road shall you go forth to them, and by seven roads shall you flee before them. So you will become an object of commotion to all the kingdoms of the earth. 26 Your carcass will become food for every flyer of the heavens and for the beast of the earth, and there will be no one causing them to tremble. 27 Yahweh shall smite you with the boil of Egypt, with piles, with eczema and with the itch, from which you cannot be healed. 28 Yahweh shall smite you with madness, with blindness and with derangement of heart;" 29 and you will come to be groping at noon just as the blind one gropes in the gloom, and you shall not prosper in your ways and will only become extorted and pillaged all the days, and there will be no saviour. 30 A wife shall you betroth, yet another man shall ravish her. A house shall you build, yet you shall not dwell in it. A vineyard shall you plant, yet you shall not take it for profane use. 31 Your bull shall be slaughtered before your eyes, yet you shall not eat of it. Your donkey shall be snatched from before you, yet it shall not return to you. Your flock shall be given to your enemies, yet there will be no saviour for you. 32 Your sons and your daughters shall be given to another people, and your eyes shall be staring and wasting away for them all the day, yet there will be nothing at the disposal of your hand. 33 A people you do not know shall devour the fruit of your ground and all your labor, and you will surely be extorted and bruised all the days, 34 so that you will become mad because of the sight of your eyes that you shall see. 35 Yahweh shall smite you with an evil boil on both the knees and on both the legs, of which you cannot be healed, from the sole of your foot and unto your scalp. 36 Yahweh shall conduct you and your king, whom you shall set up over you, to a nation whom you have not known, neither you nor your fathers, and you will serve there other elohim of wood and stone. 37 You will become an object of astonishment, a proverb and a byword among all the peoples where Yahweh shall lead you. 38 Much seed shall you bring forth to the field, yet little shall you gather, for the locust shall eat it up. 39 You shall plant vineyards, and you will service them, yet you shall neither drink the wine, nor shall you hoard it, for the worm shall devour it. 40 You shall come to have olives in all your territory, yet you shall not rub yourself with oil because your olives shall drop off. 41 You shall generate sons and daughters, yet they shall not become yours, for they shall go into captivity. 42 The cicada shall make all your trees and the fruit of your ground destitute. 43 The sojourner who is among you shall ascend over you upward and upward, yet you shall descend downward and downward. 44 He shall obligate you, yet you shall not obligate him. He shall become the head, and you shall become the tail. 45 All the maledictions will come on you, and they will pursue you and overtake you until you are exterminated, for you would not hearken to the voice of Yahweh your Elohim to observe His instructions and His statutes that He enjoined on you. 46 They will be a sign and a miracle against you and your seed until the eon. 47 Inasmuch as you would not serve Yahweh your Elohim with rejoicing and with goodness of heart over the abundance of everything,

Deuteronomy 28:47-48

47 Inasmuch as you would not serve Yahweh your Elohim with rejoicing and with goodness of heart over the abundance of everything, 48 then you will serve your enemies whom Yahweh shall send forth against you, in famine and in thirst, in nakedness and in lack of everything. He will put an iron yoke on your neck until He has exterminated you.

Deuteronomy 28:48-48

48 then you will serve your enemies whom Yahweh shall send forth against you, in famine and in thirst, in nakedness and in lack of everything. He will put an iron yoke on your neck until He has exterminated you. 49 Yahweh shall lift up against you a nation from afar, from the end of the earth, just as the vulture swoops down, a nation whose tongue you have not heard, 50 a nation strong of face who neither lifts the face of the old one with partiality nor is gracious to the youth. 51 It will devour the fruit of your beast and the fruit of your ground until you are exterminated, a nation who shall not let grain, grape juice or clarified oil, the calving of your domestic animals or the lambing of your flock remain for you, until it destroys you. 52 It will lay siege against you in all your gates until your lofty and defended walls in which you will be trusting come down in all your land; and he will lay siege against you in all your gates in all your land that Yahweh your Elohim will have given to you. 53 Then you will eat the fruit of your own belly, the flesh of your sons and your daughters whom Yahweh your Elohim will have given to you, in the siege and in the constraint with which your enemy shall constrain you. 54 The tender-hearted man among you and the one very fastidious, his eye shall be evil toward his brother and toward the wife of his bosom and toward the rest of his sons whom he shall have left, 55 so as to keep from giving to one of them the flesh of his sons that he is eating because nothing at all remains for him in the siege and in the constraint with which your enemy shall constrain you in all your gates. 56 The tender-hearted woman among you, and the fastidious one, who would not try to put the sole of her foot on the earth because of fastidiousness and tenderness, her eye shall be evil toward the husband of her bosom and toward her son and toward her daughter, 57 even for her afterbirth coming forth from between her feet, even for her sons whom she is bearing, for she shall eat them for lack of everything, in concealment during the siege and during the constraint with which your enemy shall constrain you in your gates. 58 Should you not observe to obey all the words of this law, the ones written in this scroll, to fear the name of this glorified and fear-inspiring One, Yahweh your Elohim, 59 then Yahweh will make your smitings and the smitings of your seed extraordinary:smitings that are great and constant, and illnesses that are bad and constant. 60 Thus He will bring back to you every disease of Egypt from the presence of which you shrank away, and they will cling to you. 61 Moreover, every illness and every smiting that is not written in the scroll of this law, Yahweh shall bring them up on you until you are exterminated. 62 Thus you will remain few in adult males, whereas you would have become as the stars of the heavens for multitude, for you did not hearken to the voice of Yahweh your Elohim. 63 So it will come to be, just as Yahweh was elated over you to bring you good and to let you increase, so Yahweh shall be elated over you to destroy you and to exterminate you, so that you will be swept away off the ground where you are entering to tenant it. 64 And Yahweh will scatter you among all the peoples from one end of the earth unto the other end of the earth. There you will serve other elohim, those of wood and stone which you have not known, neither you nor your fathers. 65 And among those nations you shall neither find respite, nor shall there be a resting place for the sole of your foot, and Yahweh will give to you there a disturbed heart, a failure of the eyes and pining of the soul. 66 Then your lives will come to be hung in suspense in front of you. You will be afraid by night and by day, and you shall not put trust in your lives. 67 In the morning you shall say:O that it were evening! And in the evening you shall say:O that it were morning! because of the awe of your heart with which you shall be afraid and because of the sight of your eyes which you shall see. 68 Then Yahweh will bring you back complaining to Egypt by the way of which I said to you:You should not again see it further. There you will put yourselves up for sale to your enemies as servants and as maids, yet there will be no buyer.

Deuteronomy 29:18-28

18 Beware lest there may be among you a man or woman or family or tribe whose heart today is turning around from being with Yahweh our Elohim to go to serve the elohim of those nations; beware lest there may be among you a root, being fruitful with poison and wormwood. 19 And it will come to be when he hears the words of this imprecation that he will bless himself in his heart, saying:I shall come to have peace, though I am going in the obduracy of my own heart, seeing that the satiated may be swept up with the thirsty. 20 Yahweh shall not be willing to pardon him, because then Yahweh's anger and His jealousy shall smoke against that man, and all the imprecation that is written in this scroll will lie on him. Yahweh will wipe out his name from under the heavens;" 21 and Yahweh will separate him from all the tribes of Israel for the evil visitation according to all the imprecations of the covenant that is written in this scroll of the law. 22 The latter generation of your sons who shall rise after you and the foreigner who shall come from a country afar will ask, when they see the smitings of that land of yours and its ailments with which Yahweh has made it ill-. 23 its whole land a burnt waste of sulfur and salt; it shall not be sown, neither shall it sprout, nor shall any herbage ascend in it, like the overturning of Sodom and Gomorrah, Admah and Zeboiim, which Yahweh overturned in His anger and in His fury-. 24 hence all the nations will ask:Why did Yahweh do thus to this land? Why the heat of this great anger? 25 Then some will answer:Because they forsook the covenant of Yahweh Elohim of their fathers, that He had contracted with them when He brought them forth from the country of Egypt, 26 for they went off and served other elohim and bowed themselves down to them, elohim whom they had neither known, nor had He apportioned for them. 27 Hence the anger of Yahweh grew hot against that land so as to bring upon it all the malediction that is written in this scroll. 28 So Yahweh plucked them up off their ground in anger, in fury and in great wrath, and He flung them into another country as it is this day.

Deuteronomy 30:18

18 I tell you today that you shall perish, yea perish. You shall not prolong your days on the ground where you are crossing over the Jordan to enter to tenant it.

Deuteronomy 31:16-18

16 Yahweh said to Moses:Behold, you are about to lie with your fathers. Yet this people will rise and prostitute after the elohim of the foreigners of the land where they are entering to be among them; and they will forsake Me and annul My covenant that I contracted with them. 17 My anger will grow hot against them on that day, and I will forsake them and conceal My face from them; then they will come to be devoured, and many evils and distresses will find them. Then they will say on that day:Is it not because our Elohim is not among us that these evils have found us? 18 Yet I shall conceal, yea conceal My face from them on that day on account of all the evil which they will have done, for they will have turned around to other elohim.

Deuteronomy 32:15-28

15 When Yeshurun grew stout and kicked (you will be stout, thick and burly), then he abandoned Eloah Who had made him and disgraced the Rock of his salvation. 16 They made Him jealous with alien gods, with abhorrences they provoked Him to vexation. 17 They sacrificed to demons, not Eloah, to elohim--they had not known them before--to new ones that came from nearby; your fathers were not horrified by them. 18 The Rock Who generated you, you were oblivious of Him, and you forgot the El travailing with you. 19 Yahweh saw and spurned them because of the vexation caused by His sons and His daughters. 20 And he said:Let Me conceal My face from them; I shall examine what their latter days are to be. For they are a wayward generation, sons with no faithfulness in them. 21 As for them, they make Me jealous with a non-el. They provoke Me to vexation with their idols of vanity. As for Me, I shall make them jealous with a non-people; with a decadent nation shall I cause them vexation. 22 For a fire will be kindled by My anger, and it shall glow unto the unseen beneath; it shall devour the earth and its crop, and it shall set aflame the foundations of the mountains. 23 I shall cause evils to sweep up over them; I shall exhaust My arrows among them 24 who are gaunt with famine, fought by pestilence and bitter sting:Even the tooth of beasts shall I send among them along with the venom of skulkers of the soil. 25 From the outside, the sword shall bereave, and from the chambers, the dread of war, even for the man in his prime, even for the virgin, the suckling along with the grey-haired man. 26 I would say:I might blow them away, I might eradicate their remembrance from mortals, 27 unless I shrank away from the vexation of the enemy; lest their foes misconstrue, lest they say:Our hand is high, and it was not Yahweh Who contrived all this. 28 For they are a nation whose counsel is destructive, and there is no understanding in them.

8 Its widows have been more to Me than the sand of the seas, I brought in to them--against the mother--A young man--a spoiler--at noon. I caused to fall upon her suddenly, wrath and trouble." 9 Languished has the bearer of seven, She has breathed out her spirit, Gone in has her sun while yet day, It has been ashamed and confounded, And their residue to the sword I give up before their enemies, An affirmation of Yahweh."

Jeremiah 18:21

21 Therefore, give up their sons to famine, And cause them to run on the sides of the sword, And their wives are bereaved and widows, And their men are slain by death, Their young men smitten by sword in battle,

Jeremiah 20:7

7 You have persuaded me, O Yahweh, and I am persuaded; You have hardened me, and do prevail, I have been for a laughter all the day, Every one is mocking at me,

Jeremiah 21:1-10

1 The word that has been unto Jeremiah from Yahweh, in the king Zedekiah's sending unto him Pashhur son of Malchiah, and Zephaniah son of Maaseiah the priest, saying, 2 `Inquire, we pray you, for us at Yahweh, for Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon has fought against us; perhaps Yahweh does deal with us according to all His wonders, and does cause him to go up from off us.'" 3 And Jeremiah said unto them, `Thus do you say unto Zedekiah, 4 Thus said Yahweh, Elohim of Israel:Lo, I am turning round the weapons of battle That [are] in your hand, With which you do fight the king of Babylon, And the Chaldeans, who are laying siege against you, At the outside of the wall, And I have gathered them into the midst of this city, 5 And I--I have fought against you, With a stretched-out hand, and with a strong arm, And in anger, and in fury, and in great wrath, 6 And I have smitten the inhabitants of this city, Both man and beast, By a great pestilence do they die." 7 And after this--an affirmation of Yahweh, I give Zedekiah king of Judah, And his servants, and the people, And those left in this city, From the pestilence, from the sword, and from the famine, Into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, And into the hand of their enemies, And into the hand of those seeking their life, And he has smitten them by the mouth of the sword, He has no pity on them, Nor does he spare, nor has he mercy." 8 And unto this people you do say, Thus said Yahweh:Lo, I am setting before you the way of life, And the way of death!" 9 Whoso is abiding in this city--dies, By sword, and by famine, and by pestilence, And whoso is going forth, And has fallen unto the Chaldeans, Who are laying siege against you--lives, And his life has been to him for a spoil." 10 For I have set My face against this city for evil, And not for good--an affirmation of Yahweh. Into the hand of the king of Babylon it is given, And he has burned it with fire."

Jeremiah 22:10-12

10 You do not weep for the dead, nor bemoan for him, Weep you sore for the traveller, For he does not return again, Nor has he seen the land of his birth." 11 For thus said Yahweh concerning Shallum son of Josiah king of Judah, who is reigning instead of Josiah his father, who has gone forth from this place:He does not turn back hither again;"

Jeremiah 22:11-12

11 For thus said Yahweh concerning Shallum son of Josiah king of Judah, who is reigning instead of Josiah his father, who has gone forth from this place:He does not turn back hither again;" 12 For in the place whither they have removed him he dies, And this land he does not see again." 13 Woe to him who is building his house by unrighteousness, And his upper chambers by injustice, On his neighbor he lays service for nought, And his wage he does not give to him." 14 Who is saying, `I build for myself a large house, And airy upper chambers,' And he has cut out for himself its windows, Ceiled with cedar, and painted with vermilion." 15 Do you reign, because you are fretting yourself in cedar? Your father--did he not eat and drink? Yea, he did judgment and righteousness, Then [it is] well with him." 16 He decided the cause of the poor and needy, Then [it is] well--is it not to know Me? An affirmation of Yahweh." 17 But your eyes and your heart are not, Except on your dishonest gain, And on shedding of innocent blood, And on oppression, and on doing of violence." 18 Therefore, thus said Yahweh concerning Jehoiakim son of Josiah king of Judah:They do not lament for him, Ah, my brother, and Ah, sister, They do not lament for him, Ah, lord, and Ah, his honor." 19 The burial of an ass--he is buried, Dragged and cast out thence to the gates of Jerusalem."

Jeremiah 22:24

24 I live--an affirmation of Yahweh, Though Coniah son of Jehoiakim king of Judah Were a seal on My right hand, Surely thence I draw you away, 25 And I have given you into the hand of those seeking your life, And into hands of which you are afraid, Into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, And into the hand of the Chaldeans."

Jeremiah 22:28

28 A grief--a despised broken thing--is this man Coniah? A vessel in which there is no pleasure? Wherefore have they been cast up and down, He and his seed, Yea, they were cast on to a land that they knew not?

Jeremiah 24:1

1 Yahweh has showed me, and lo, two baskets of figs, appointed before the temple of Yahweh, --after the removing by Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, of Jeconiah, son of Jehoiakim king of Judah, and the heads of Judah, and the artisan, and the smith, from Jerusalem, when he brings them into Babylon--"

Jeremiah 25:3-4

3 `From the thirteenth year of Josiah son of Amon king of Judah, and unto this day--this three and twentieth year--has the word of Yahweh been unto me, and I speak unto you, rising early and speaking, and you have not hearkened;" 4 And Yahweh has sent unto you all His servants, the prophets, rising early and sending, and you have not hearkened, nor inclined your ear to hear, saying:"

Jeremiah 25:9

9 Lo, I am sending, and have taken all the families of the north--an affirmation of Yahweh--even unto Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, My servant, and have brought them in against this land, and against its inhabitants, and against all these nations round about, and have devoted them, and appointed them for an astonishment, and for a hissing, and for wastes eonian."

Jeremiah 25:11-12

11 And all this land has been for a waste, for an astonishment, and these nations have served the king of Babylon seventy years." 12 `And it has come to pass, at the fulness of seventy years, I charge against the king of Babylon, and against that nation--an affirmation of Yahweh--their iniquity, and against the land of the Chaldeans, and have appointed it for desolations eonian."

Jeremiah 25:12

12 `And it has come to pass, at the fulness of seventy years, I charge against the king of Babylon, and against that nation--an affirmation of Yahweh--their iniquity, and against the land of the Chaldeans, and have appointed it for desolations eonian."

Jeremiah 25:14

14 For laid service on them--also them--have many nations and great kings, and I have given recompence to them according to their doing, and according to the work of their hands."

Jeremiah 26:1

1 In the beginning of the reign of Jehoiakim son of Josiah, king of Judah, has this word been from Yahweh, saying:"

Jeremiah 26:5

5 To hearken to the words of My servants the prophets, whom I am sending unto you, yea, rising early and sending, and you have not hearkened, 6 Then I have given up this house as Shiloh, and this city I give up for a reviling to all nations of the earth.'" 7 And the priests, and the prophets, and all the people, hear Jeremiah speaking these words in the house of Yahweh,

Jeremiah 26:21-23

21 And the king Jehoiakim, and all his mighty ones, and all the heads, hear his words, and the king seeks to put him to death, and Urijah hears, and fears, and flees, and goes in to Egypt." 22 And the king Jehoiakim sends men to Egypt--Elnathan son of Achbor, and men with him unto Egypt--" 23 And they bring out Urijah from Egypt, and bring him in unto the king Jehoiakim, and he smites him with a sword, and casts his corpse unto the graves of the sons of the people.'"

Jeremiah 27:1

1 In the beginning of the reign of Jehoiakim son of Josiah, king of Judah, has this word been unto Jeremiah from Yahweh, saying,

Jeremiah 27:7

7 And served him have all the nations, and his son, and his son's son, till the coming in of the time of his land, also it; and done service for him have many nations and great kings."

Jeremiah 27:12-28:17

12 And unto Zedekiah king of Judah I have spoken according to all these words, saying, `Cause your necks to enter into the yoke of the king of Babylon, and serve him and his people, and live."

Jeremiah 27:12-13

12 And unto Zedekiah king of Judah I have spoken according to all these words, saying, `Cause your necks to enter into the yoke of the king of Babylon, and serve him and his people, and live." 13 Why do you die, you and your people, by sword, by famine, and by pestilence, as Yahweh has spoken concerning the nation that does not serve the king of Babylon?

Jeremiah 27:13-13

13 Why do you die, you and your people, by sword, by famine, and by pestilence, as Yahweh has spoken concerning the nation that does not serve the king of Babylon? 14 `And you do not hearken unto the words of the prophets who are speaking unto you, saying, You do not serve the king of Babylon, --for falsehood they are prophesying to you." 15 For I have not sent them--an affirmation of Yahweh--and they are prophesying in My name falsely, so as to drive you out, and you have perished, you, and the prophets who are prophesying to you.'" 16 And unto the priests, and unto all this people, I have spoken, saying, `Thus said Yahweh, You do not hearken unto the words of your prophets, who are prophesying to you, saying, Lo, the vessels of the house of Yahweh are brought back from Babylon now in haste, for falsehood they are prophesying to you."

Jeremiah 27:16-28:17

16 And unto the priests, and unto all this people, I have spoken, saying, `Thus said Yahweh, You do not hearken unto the words of your prophets, who are prophesying to you, saying, Lo, the vessels of the house of Yahweh are brought back from Babylon now in haste, for falsehood they are prophesying to you." 17 You do not hearken unto them, serve the king of Babylon, and live. Why is this city a waste?

Jeremiah 27:17-28:17

17 You do not hearken unto them, serve the king of Babylon, and live. Why is this city a waste? 18 `And, if they be prophets, and if a word of Yahweh be with them, let them intercede, I pray you, with Yahweh of Hosts, so that the vessels that are left in the house of Yahweh, and [in] the house of the king of Judah, and in Jerusalem, have not gone into Babylon."

Jeremiah 27:18-22

18 `And, if they be prophets, and if a word of Yahweh be with them, let them intercede, I pray you, with Yahweh of Hosts, so that the vessels that are left in the house of Yahweh, and [in] the house of the king of Judah, and in Jerusalem, have not gone into Babylon." 19 For thus said Yahweh of Hosts concerning the pillars, and concerning the sea, and concerning the bases, and concerning the rest of the vessels that are left in this city, 20 That Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon has not taken, in his removing Jeconiah son of Jehoiakim king of Judah from Jerusalem to Babylon with all the freemen of Judah and Jerusalem, 21 Surely thus said Yahweh of Hosts, Elohim of Israel, concerning the vessels that are left of the house of Yahweh, and of the house of the king of Judah, and [in] Jerusalem:" 22 To Babylon they are brought, and there they are till the day of My inspecting them--an affirmation of Yahweh; then I have brought them up, and have brought them back unto this place.'"

1 And it comes to pass, in that year, in the beginning of the reign of Zedekiah king of Judah, in the fourth year, in the fifth month, spoken unto me has Hananiah son of Azur the prophet, who [is] of Gibeon, in the house of Yahweh, before the eyes of the priests, and all the people, saying,

3 Within two years of days I am bringing back unto this place all the vessels of the house of Yahweh that Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon has taken from this place, and does carry to Babylon,

Jeremiah 28:12-17

Jeremiah 29:1-2

1 And these [are] words of the letter that Jeremiah the prophet sent from Jerusalem unto the remnant of the elders of the removal, and unto the priests, and unto the prophets, and unto all the people--whom Nebuchadnezzar removed from Jerusalem to Babylon, 2 After the going forth of Jeconiah the king, and the mistress, and the officers, heads of Judah and Jerusalem, and the artificer, and the smith, from Jerusalem--"

Jeremiah 29:10

10 `For thus said Yahweh, Surely at the fulness of Babylon--seventy years--I inspect you, and have established towards you My good word, to bring you back unto this place."

3 Where Zedekiah king of Judah has shut him up, saying, `Wherefore are you prophesying, saying, Thus said Yahweh, Lo, I am giving this city into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he has captured it;"

Jeremiah 32:42

42 `For thus said Yahweh:As I brought in unto this people all this great evil, so I am bringing in on them all the good that I am speaking concerning them;"

Jeremiah 32:42-44

42 `For thus said Yahweh:As I brought in unto this people all this great evil, so I am bringing in on them all the good that I am speaking concerning them;" 43 and bought has been the field in this land of which you are saying, A desolation it [is], without man and beast, it has been given into the hand of the Chaldeans." 44 Fields with money they buy, so as to write in a book, and to seal, and to cause witnesses to testify, in the land of Benjamin, and in suburbs of Jerusalem, and in cities of Judah, and in cities of the hill-country, and in cities of the low country, and in cities of the south, for I turn back their captivity--an affirmation of Yahweh.'"

Jeremiah 33:10-14

10 Thus said Yahweh:Again heard in this place of which you are saying, Waste it [is], without man and without beast, In cities of Judah, and in streets of Jerusalem, That are desolated, without man, And without inhabitant, and without beast, 11 Is a voice of joy and a voice of gladness, Voice of bridegroom, and voice of bride, The voice of those saying, Thank Yahweh of Hosts, for Yahweh [is] good, For His kindness [is] to the eon, Who are bringing in thanksgiving to the house of Yahweh, For I turn back the captivity of the land, As at the first, said Yahweh." 12 Thus said Yahweh of Hosts:Again there is in this place--that is waste, Without man and beast, And in all its cities--a habitation of shepherds, Causing the flock to lie down." 13 In the cities of the hill-country, In the cities of the low country, And in the cities of the south, And in the land of Benjamin, And in the suburbs of Jerusalem, And in the cities of Judah, Again does the flock pass by under the hands of the numberer, said Yahweh." 14 Lo, days are coming, an affirmation of Yahweh, And I have established the good word That I spoke unto the house of Israel, And concerning the house of Judah."

Jeremiah 34:2-22

2 `Thus said Yahweh, Elohim of Israel:Go, and you have spoken unto Zedekiah king of Judah, and have said unto him, Thus said Yahweh:Lo, I am giving this city into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he has burned it with fire, 3 and you, you do not escape out of his hand, for you are certainly caught, and into his hand you are given, and your eyes see the eyes of the king of Babylon, and his mouth with your mouth speaks, and Babylon you enter." 4 `Only, hear a word of Yahweh, O Zedekiah king of Judah, Thus said Yahweh unto you:You do not die by sword, 5 in peace you die, and with the burnings of your fathers, the former kings who have been before you, so they make a burning for you; and Ah, lord, they lament for you, for the word I have spoken--an affirmation of Yahweh.'" 6 And Jeremiah the prophet speaks unto Zedekiah king of Judah all these words in Jerusalem, 7 and the forces of the king of Babylon are fighting against Jerusalem, and against all the cities of Judah that are left--against Lachish, and against Azekah, for these have been left among the cities of Judah, cities of fortresses." 8 The word that has been unto Jeremiah from Yahweh, after the making by the king Zedekiah of a covenant with all the people who [are] in Jerusalem, to proclaim to them liberty, 9 to send out each his man-servant, and each his maid-servant--the Hebrew and the Hebrewess--free, so as not to lay service on them, any on a Jew his brother;" 10 and hearken do all the heads, and all the people who have come in to the covenant to send forth each his man-servant and each his maid-servant free, so as not to lay service on them any more, yea, they hearken, and send them away;" 11 and they turn afterwards, and cause the men-servants and the maid-servants to return, whom they had sent forth free, and they subdue them for men-servants and for maid-servants." 12 And there is a word of Yahweh unto Jeremiah from Yahweh, saying:" 13 `Thus said Yahweh, Elohim of Israel, I--I made a covenant with your fathers in the day of My bringing them forth from the land of Egypt, from a house of servants, saying, 14 At the end of seven years you do send forth each his brother, the Hebrew, who is sold to you, and has served you six years, yea, you have sent him forth free from you:and your fathers hearkened not unto Me, nor inclined their ear." 15 `And you turn back, you to-day, and you do that which is right in Mine eyes, to proclaim liberty each to his neighbor, and you make a covenant before Me in the house over which My name is called." 16 And--you turn back, and pollute My name, and you cause each his man-servant and each his maid-servant, whom he had sent forth free, (at their pleasure,) to return, and you subdue them to be to you for men-servants and for maid-servants." 17 `Therefore, thus said Yahweh:You have not hearkened unto Me to proclaim freedom, each to his brother, and each to his neighbor; lo, I am proclaiming to you liberty--an affirmation of Yahweh--unto the sword, unto the pestilence, and unto the famine, and I have given you for a trembling to all kingdoms of the earth." 18 `And I have given the men who are transgressing My covenant, who have not established the words of the covenant that they have made before Me, by the calf, that they have cut in two, and pass through between its pieces--" 19 heads of Judah, and heads of Jerusalem, the officers, and the priests, and all the people of the land those passing through between the pieces of the calf--" 20 yea, I have given them into the hand of their enemies, and into the hand of those seeking their soul, and their carcase has been for food to the fowl of the heavens, and to the beast of the earth." 21 `And Zedekiah king of Judah, and his heads, I give into the hand of their enemies, and into the hand of those seeking their soul, and into the hand of the forces of the king of Babylon, that are going up from off you." 22 Lo, I am commanding--an affirmation of Yahweh--and have brought them back unto this city, and they have fought against it, and captured it, and burned it with fire, and the cities of Judah I do make a desolation--without inhabitant.'"

Jeremiah 35:1

1 The word that has been unto Jeremiah from Yahweh, in the days of Jehoiakim son of Josiah king of Judah, saying:"

Jeremiah 35:15

15 And I send unto you all My servants the prophets, rising early and sending, saying:Turn back, I pray you, each from his evil way, and amend your doings, yea, you do not walk after other elohims, to serve them, and dwell you on the ground that I have given to you and to your fathers; and you have not inclined your ear, nor hearkened unto Me."

Jeremiah 36:1

1 And it comes to pass, in the fourth year of Jehoiakim son of Josiah king of Judah, this word has been unto Jeremiah from Yahweh, saying:"

Jeremiah 36:27-32

27 And there is a word of Yahweh unto Jeremiah--after the king's burning the roll, even the words that Baruch has written from the mouth of Jeremiah--saying:" 28 `Turn, take to you another roll, and write on it all the former words that were on the first roll, that Jehoiakim king of Judah burnt, 29 and unto Jehoiakim king of Judah you do say:Thus said Yahweh, You have burnt this roll, saying, Wherefore have you written on it, saying, The king of Babylon surely comes in, and has destroyed this land, and caused to cease from it man and beast? 30 `Therefore, thus said Yahweh, concerning Jehoiakim king of Judah:He has none sitting on the throne of David, and his carcase is cast out to heat by day, and to cold by night;" 31 and I have charged on him, and on his seed, and on his servants, their iniquity; and I have brought in on them, and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and unto the men of Judah, all the evil that I have spoken unto them, and they hearkened not.'" 32 And Jeremiah has taken another roll, and gives it unto Baruch son of Neriah the scribe, and he writes on it from the mouth of Jeremiah all the words of the book that Jehoiakim king of Judah has burnt in the fire; and again there were added unto them many words like these."

Jeremiah 37:1

1 And reign does king Zedekiah son of Josiah instead of Coniah son of Jehoiakim whom Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon had caused to reign in the land of Judah, 2 and he has not hearkened, he, and his servants, and the people of the land, unto the words of Yahweh, that He spoke by the hand of Jeremiah the prophet." 3 And Zedekiah the king sends Jehucal son of Shelemiah, and Zephaniah son of Maaseiah the priest, unto Jeremiah the prophet, saying, `Pray, we beseech you, for us unto Yahweh our Elohim.'" 4 And Jeremiah is coming in and going out in the midst of the people, (and they have not put him in the prison-house), 5 and the force of Pharaoh has come out of Egypt, and the Chaldeans, who are laying siege against Jerusalem, hear their report, and go up from off Jerusalem." 6 And there is a word of Yahweh unto Jeremiah the prophet, saying:" 7 `Thus said Yahweh, Elohim of Israel, Thus do you say unto the king of Judah, who is sending you unto Me, to seek Me:Lo, the force of Pharaoh that is coming out to you for help has turned back to its land, to Egypt, 8 and the Chaldeans have turned back, and fought against this city, and captured it, and burnt it with fire." 9 `Thus said Yahweh:Lift not up your souls saying, The Chaldeans surely go from off us, for they do not go;" 10 for though you had smitten all the force of the Chaldeans who are fighting with you, and there were left of them wounded men--each in his tent--they rise, and have burnt this city with fire.'" 11 And it has come to pass, in the going up of the force of the Chaldeans from off Jerusalem, because of the force of Pharaoh, 12 that Jeremiah goes out from Jerusalem to go [to] the land of Benjamin, to receive a portion thence in the midst of the people." 13 And it comes to pass, he is at the gate of Benjamin, and there [is] a master of the ward--and his name is Irijah son of Shelemiah, son of Hananiah--and he catches Jeremiah the prophet, saying, `Unto the Chaldeans you are falling.'"

Jeremiah 37:13-15

13 And it comes to pass, he is at the gate of Benjamin, and there [is] a master of the ward--and his name is Irijah son of Shelemiah, son of Hananiah--and he catches Jeremiah the prophet, saying, `Unto the Chaldeans you are falling.'" 14 And Jeremiah said, `Falsehood--I am not falling unto the Chaldeans;' and he has not hearkened unto him, and Irijah lays hold on Jeremiah, and brings him in unto the heads,

Jeremiah 37:14-15

14 And Jeremiah said, `Falsehood--I am not falling unto the Chaldeans;' and he has not hearkened unto him, and Irijah lays hold on Jeremiah, and brings him in unto the heads, 15 and the heads are wroth against Jeremiah, and have smitten him, and put him in the prison-house--the house of Jonathan the scribe, for it they had made for a prison-house."

Jeremiah 37:15-15

15 and the heads are wroth against Jeremiah, and have smitten him, and put him in the prison-house--the house of Jonathan the scribe, for it they had made for a prison-house." 16 When Jeremiah has entered into the house of the dungeon, and unto the cells, then Jeremiah dwells there many days, 17 and the king Zedekiah sends, and takes him, and the king asks him in his house in secret, and said, `Is there a word from Yahweh?' And Jeremiah said, `There is,' and he said, `Into the hand of the king of Babylon you are given.'" 18 And Jeremiah said unto the king Zedekiah, `What have I sinned against you, and against your servants, and against this people, that you have given me unto a prison-house? 19 And where [are] your prophets who prophesied to you, saying, The king of Babylon does not come in against you, and against this land? 20 And now, hearken, I pray you, my lord, O king, let my supplication fall, I pray you, before you, and cause me not to return [to] the house of Jonathan the scribe, that I die not there.'" 21 And the king Zedekiah commands, and they commit Jeremiah into the court of the prison, also to give to him a cake of bread daily from the bakers' street, till the consumption of all the bread of the city, and Jeremiah dwells in the court of the prison."

Jeremiah 38:4

4 And the heads say unto the king, `Let, we pray you, this man be put to death, because that he is making feeble the hands of the men of war, who are left in this city, and the hands of all the people, by speaking unto them according to these words, for this man is not seeking for the peace of this people, but for its evil.'"

Jeremiah 38:6

6 And they take Jeremiah, and cast him into the pit of Malchiah son of the king, that [is] in the court of the prison, and they send down Jeremiah with cords; and in the pit there is no water, but mire, and Jeremiah sinks in the mire."

Jeremiah 38:14-28
