Jeremiah 27:12-28:17 And unto Zedekiah king of Judah I have spoken according to all these words, saying, `Cause your necks to enter into the yoke of the king of Babylon, and serve him and his people, and live."

CLV⁽ⁱ⁾ ¹² And unto Zedekiah king of Judah I have spoken according to all these words, saying, `Cause your necks to enter into the yoke of the king of Babylon, and serve him and his people, and live." ¹³ Why do you die, you and your people, by sword, by famine, and by pestilence, as Yahweh has spoken concerning the nation that does not serve the king of Babylon? ¹⁴ `And you do not hearken unto the words of the prophets who are speaking unto you, saying, You do not serve the king of Babylon, --for falsehood they are prophesying to you." ¹⁵ For I have not sent them--an affirmation of Yahweh--and they are prophesying in My name falsely, so as to drive you out, and you have perished, you, and the prophets who are prophesying to you.'" ¹⁶ And unto the priests, and unto all this people, I have spoken, saying, `Thus said Yahweh, You do not hearken unto the words of your prophets, who are prophesying to you, saying, Lo, the vessels of the house of Yahweh are brought back from Babylon now in haste, for falsehood they are prophesying to you." ¹⁷ You do not hearken unto them, serve the king of Babylon, and live. Why is this city a waste? ¹⁸ `And, if they be prophets, and if a word of Yahweh be with them, let them intercede, I pray you, with Yahweh of Hosts, so that the vessels that are left in the house of Yahweh, and [in] the house of the king of Judah, and in Jerusalem, have not gone into Babylon." ¹⁹ For thus said Yahweh of Hosts concerning the pillars, and concerning the sea, and concerning the bases, and concerning the rest of the vessels that are left in this city, ²⁰ That Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon has not taken, in his removing Jeconiah son of Jehoiakim king of Judah from Jerusalem to Babylon with all the freemen of Judah and Jerusalem, ²¹ Surely thus said Yahweh of Hosts, Elohim of Israel, concerning the vessels that are left of the house of Yahweh, and of the house of the king of Judah, and [in] Jerusalem:" ²² To Babylon they are brought, and there they are till the day of My inspecting them--an affirmation of Yahweh; then I have brought them up, and have brought them back unto this place.'" ²⁸ ¹ And it comes to pass, in that year, in the beginning of the reign of Zedekiah king of Judah, in the fourth year, in the fifth month, spoken unto me has Hananiah son of Azur the prophet, who [is] of Gibeon, in the house of Yahweh, before the eyes of the priests, and all the people, saying, ² `Thus spoke Yahweh of Hosts, Elohim of Israel, saying, I have broken the yoke of the king of Babylon;" ³ Within two years of days I am bringing back unto this place all the vessels of the house of Yahweh that Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon has taken from this place, and does carry to Babylon, ⁴ And Jeconiah son of Jehoiakim, king of Judah, and all the removed of Judah, who are entering Babylon, I am bringing back unto this place--an affirmation of Yahweh; for I do break the yoke of the king of Babylon.'" ⁵ And Jeremiah the prophet said unto Hananiah the prophet, before the eyes of the priests, and before the eyes of all the people who are standing in the house of Yahweh, ⁶ Yea, Jeremiah the prophet said, `Amen! so may Yahweh do; Yahweh establish your words that you have prophesied, to bring back the vessels of the house of Yahweh and all the removal from Babylon, unto this place." ⁷ `Only, hear, I pray you, this word that I am speaking in your ears, and in the ears of all the people." ⁸ The prophets who have been before me, and before you, from of old, even they prophesy concerning many lands, and concerning great kingdoms, of battle, and of evil, and of pestilence." ⁹ The prophet who does prophesy of peace--by the coming in of the word of the prophet, known is the prophet that Yahweh has truly sent him.'" ¹⁰ And Hananiah the prophet takes the yoke from off the neck of Jeremiah the prophet, and breaks it, ¹¹ And Hananiah speaks before the eyes of all the people, saying, `Thus said Yahweh, Thus I break the yoke of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, within two years of days, from off the neck of all the nations;' and Jeremiah the prophet goes on his way." ¹² And there is a word of Yahweh unto Jeremiah after the breaking, by Hananiah the prophet, of the yoke from off the neck of Jeremiah the prophet, saying, ¹³ `Go, and you have spoken unto Hananiah, saying, Thus said Yahweh, Yokes of wood you have broken, and I have made instead of them yokes of iron;" ¹⁴ For thus said Yahweh of Hosts, Elohim of Israel, A yoke of iron I have put on the neck of all these nations to serve Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and they have served him, and also the beast of the field I have given to him.'" ¹⁵ And Jeremiah the prophet said unto Hananiah the prophet, `Hear, I pray you, O Hananiah; Yahweh has not sent you, and you have caused this people to trust on falsehood." ¹⁶ Therefore thus said Yahweh, Lo, I am casting you from off the face of the ground; this year you die, for apostasy you have spoken concerning Yahweh.'" ¹⁷ And Hananiah the prophet dies in that year, in the seventh month."
