¹ And the men of Kirjath-Jearim come and bring up the ark of Yahweh, and bring it in unto the house of Abinadab, in the height, and Eleazar his son they have sanctified to keep the ark of Yahweh. ² And it comes to pass, from the day of the dwelling of the ark in Kirjath-Jearim, that the days are multiplied--yea, they are twenty years--and wail do all the house of Israel after Yahweh. ³ And Samuel speaks unto all the house of Israel, saying, `If with all your heart you are turning back unto Yahweh--turn aside the elohims of the stranger from your midst, and Ashtaroth; and prepare your heart unto Yahweh, and serve Him only, and He does deliver you out of the hand of the Philistines.. <sup>4</sup> And the sons of Israel turn aside the Baalim and Ashtaroth, and serve Yahweh alone;" <sup>5</sup> and Samuel said, `Gather all Israel to Mizpeh, and I pray for you unto Yahweh.. ⁶ And they are gathered to Mizpeh, and draw water, and pour out before Yahweh, and fast on that day, and say there, `We have sinned against Yahweh;' and Samuel judges the sons of Israel in Mizpeh. <sup>7</sup> And the Philistines hear that the sons of Israel have gathered themselves to Mizpeh; and the princes of the Philistines go up against Israel, and the sons of Israel hear, and are afraid of the presence of the Philistines. <sup>8</sup> And the sons of Israel say unto Samuel, `Keep not silent for us from crying unto Yahweh our Elohim, and He does save us out of the hand of the Philistines.. ⁹ And Samuel takes a fat lamb, and causes it to go up--a burnt-offering whole to Yahweh; and Samuel cries unto Yahweh for Israel, and Yahweh answers him;" ¹⁰ and Samuel is causing the burnt-offering to go up--and the Philistines have drawn nigh to battle against Israel--and Yahweh does thunder with a great noise, on that day, upon the Philistines, and troubles them, and they are smitten before Israel. ¹¹ And the men of Israel go out from Mizpeh, and pursue the Philistines, and smite them unto the place of Beth-Car. ¹² And Samuel takes a stone, and sets [it] between Mizpeh and Shen, and calls its name Eben-Ezer, saying, `Hitherto has Yahweh helped us.. ¹³ And the Philistines are humbled, and have not added any more to come into the border of Israel, and the hand of Yahweh is on the Philistines all the days of Samuel. ¹⁴ And the cities which the Philistines have taken from Israel are restored to Israel--from Ekron even unto Gath--and their border has Israel delivered out of the hand of the Philistines; and there is peace between Israel and the Amorite. ¹⁵ And Samuel judges Israel all the days of his life, ¹⁶ and he has gone from year to year, and gone round Beth-El, and Gilgal, and Mizpeh, and judged Israel [in] all these places;" ¹⁷ and his returning [is] to Ramath, for there [is] his house, and there he has judged Israel, and he builds there an altar to Yahweh.

⁷ And appearing is Yahweh to Abram and is saying to him, "To your seed am I giving this land.And building is Abram there an altar to Yahweh, Who appeared to him. ⁸ And shifting is he thence toward the mountain on the east of Beth-El, and there is stretching out his tent, with Beth-El on the seaward side, and Ai on the east, and building is he there an altar to Yahweh. And calling is he on the name of Yahweh.

¹⁴ And calling is Abraham the name of that place Yahweh-jireh, which is being said today, "In the mount of Yahweh it is being seen.

¹⁸ And early is Jacob rising in the morning, and taking is he the stone which he had placed there for his pillow, and is placing it for a monument, and pouring oil on its top. ¹⁹ And calling is Jacob the name of that place Beth-El. Howbeit, Luz was the name of the city at first.

⁴⁵ And taking is Jacob a stone and is raising it for a monument. ⁴⁶ And saying is Jacob to his brethren, "Pick up stones.And they are picking up stones and making a mound. And eating are they and drinking there on the mound. And saying to him is Laban, "This mound is witness between me and you today. ⁴⁷ And calling it is Laban Igr-shedutha. And Jacob calls it Galeed. ⁴⁸ And saying is Laban to Jacob, "Behold! This mound and this monument which I raised, is witness between me and you today. ⁴⁹ Therefore he calls its name Galeed and the Mizpah which says: "Watching is Yahweh between me and you, when we are concealed, each man from his associate. ⁵⁰ Should you humiliate my daughters, and should you take wives over my daughters, then not a man is with us. See! The Elohim is Witness between me and you. ⁵¹ And saying is Laban to Jacob, "Behold this mound! And behold the monument which I aim to be between me and you. ⁵² Witness is this mound, and witness is the monument, that I should not be passing this mound to you, and you should not be passing this mound and this monument to me, for evil!"

²⁰ And setting up is he there an altar, and calling on El-Elohim-Ishral.

² And saying is Jacob to his household and to all who are with him, "Take away the foreign elohim which are in your midst, and clean yourselves, and change your garments.

⁷ And building is he there an altar, and calling is he the name of the place Beth-El, for there the Elohim was revealed to him when he ran away from the face of Esau, his brother.

¹⁴ And setting up is Jacob a monument in the place in which He spoke with him, a monument of stone. And libating is he on it a libation and pouring on it oil.

²³ So Moses stretched out his rod to the heavens, and Yahweh, He gave thundering sounds and hail, and fire ran earthward. Thus Yahweh rained hail over the land of Egypt. ²⁴ And the hail came with fire taking hold of itself in the midst of the hail, exceedingly heavy, such as had not come in all the land of Egypt since it became a nation. ²⁵ Now the hail smote in all the land of Egypt all that was in the field, from human unto beast. Also the hail smote all herbage of the field and broke every tree of the field.

¹⁰ So Pharaoh, he drew near. Then the sons of Israel lifted their eyes, and behold, the Egyptians were journeying after them. Now they became exceedingly fearful, and the sons of Israel cried to Yahweh.

¹⁵ So Moses built an altar and called its name Yahweh-nissi

⁴⁰ If they will confess their depravity and the depravity of their fathers in their offense (when they had offended Me and, indeed, when they had gone contrary to M.

¹³ Yahweh your Elohim shall you fear, and Him only shall you serve, and to Him shall you cling, and by His name shall you swear.

² when Yahweh your Elohim gives them up before you, and you smite them, then you shall doom, yea doom them. You shall neither contract a covenant with them nor be gracious to them,

¹⁶ Now you will devour all the peoples whom Yahweh your Elohim is delivering to you. Your eye shall not commiserate over them, and you shall not serve their elohim, for that is a trap to you.

²⁰ Yahweh your Elohim shall you fear, and Him shall you serve; to Him shall you cling, and by His name shall you swear.

⁴ After Yahweh your Elohim shall you go, and Him shall you fear; His instructions shall you observe, and to His voice shall you hearken; Him shall you serve, and to Him shall you cling.

³ He will say to them:Hear, Israel! You are near today to the battle against your enemies. Let not your heart be timid, do not fear, do not be in nervous haste and do not be terrified because of their presence. ⁴ for Yahweh your Elohim is the One going with you to fight for you with your enemies and to save you.

² and that you will return again to Yahweh your Elohim and hearken to His voice according to all that I am instructing you today, you and your sons, with all your heart and with all your soul. ³ Then Yahweh your Elohim will turn back your captivity and show compassion to you; He will return and convene you from all the peoples where Yahweh your Elohim will have scattered you. ⁴ If it comes to be that you should be expelled to the end of the heavens, from there Yahweh your Elohim shall convene you, and from there He shall take you. ⁵ Then Yahweh your Elohim will bring you to the land that your fathers tenanted; you will tenant it, and He will bring you good and let you increase more than your fathers. ⁶ Yahweh your Elohim will circumcise your heart and the heart of your seed so as to love Yahweh your Elohim with all your heart and with all your soul, that you may stay alive. ⁷ Then Yahweh your Elohim will put all these imprecations on your enemies and on those hating you, who persecute you. ⁸ As for you, you shall return, and you will hearken to the voice of Yahweh your Elohim; you will obey all His instructions that I am enjoining on you today. ⁹ Then Yahweh your Elohim will give you surplus in goods through all the work of your hand, through the fruit of your belly, the fruit of your domestic beast and the fruit of your ground, for Yahweh shall return to be elated over you for good, just as He was elated over your fathers, ¹⁰ in case you should hearken to the voice of Yahweh your Elohim to observe His instructions and His statutes, the ones written in this scroll of the law, in case you should return to Yahweh your Elohim with all your heart and with all your soul.

⁹ even the twelve stones has Joshua raised up out of the midst of the Jordan, the place of the standing of the feet of the priests bearing the ark of the covenant, and they are there unto this day.

²⁰ and these twelve stones, which they have taken out of the Jordan, has Joshua raised up in Gilgal. ²¹ And he speaks unto the sons of Israel, saying, `When your sons ask their fathers hereafter, saying, What [are] these stones? ²² then you have caused your sons to know, saying, On dry land Israel passed over this Jordan;" ²³ because Yahweh your Elohim dried up the waters of the Jordan at your presence, till your passing over, as Yahweh your Elohim did to the Red Sea which He dried up at our presence till our passing over;" ²⁴ so that all the people of the land do know the hand of Yahweh that it [is] strong, so that you have reverenced Yahweh your Elohim all the days..

¹⁰ and Yahweh does crush them before Israel, and it smites them--a great smiting--at Gibeon, and pursues them the way of the ascent of Beth-Horon, and smites them unto Azekah, and unto Makkedah.

³⁸ and Dilean, and Mizpeh, and Joktheel,

¹⁴ and the border has been marked out, and has gone round to the corner of the sea southward, from the hill which [is] at the front of Beth-Horon southward, and its outgoings have been unto Kirjath-Baal (it [is] Kirjath-Jearim), a city of the sons of Judah:this [is] the west quarter.

¹⁴ `And now, fear you Yahweh, and serve Him, in perfection and in truth, and turn aside the elohims which your fathers served beyond the River, and in Egypt, and serve you Yahweh;"

²³ and, now, turn aside the elohims of the stranger which [are] in your midst, and incline your heart unto Yahweh, Elohim of Israel..

²⁶ And Joshua writes these words in the Book of the Law of Elohim, and takes a great stone, and raises it up there under the oak which [is] in the sanctuary of Yahweh. ²⁷ And Joshua said unto all the people, `Lo, this stone is against us for a witness, for it has heard all the sayings of Yahweh which He has spoken with us, and it has been against you for a witness, lest you lie against your Elohim..

⁴ And it comes to pass, when the messenger of Yahweh speaks these words unto all the sons of Israel, that the people lift up their voice and weep,

¹¹ And the sons of Israel do the evil thing in the eyes of Yahweh, and serve the Baalim,

¹³ yea, they forsake Yahweh, and do service to Baal and to Ashtaroth.

¹⁶ And Yahweh raises up judges, and they save them from the hand of their spoilers;"

¹⁰ and the Spirit of Yahweh is upon him, and he judges Israel, and goes out to battle, and Yahweh gives unto his hand Chushan-Rishathaim king of Aram, and strong is his hand against Chushan-Rishathaim;"

¹⁵ And Yahweh destroys Sisera, and all the chariots, and all the camp, by the mouth of the sword, before Barak, and Sisera comes down from off the chariot, and flees on his feet.

¹⁷ And Sisera has fled on his feet unto the tent of Jael wife of Heber the Kenite, for peace [is] between Jabin king of Hazor and the house of Heber the Kenite;"

⁸ He chooses new elohims, Then war [is] at the gates! A shield is not seen--and a spear Among forty thousand in Israel.

¹⁰ Riders on white asses--Sitters on a long robe--And walkers by the way--meditate!

²⁰ From the heavens they fought:The stars from their highways fought with Sisera.

²⁶ and you have built an altar to Yahweh your Elohim on the top of this stronghold, by the arrangement, and have taken the second bullock, and caused to ascend a burnt-offering with the wood of the shrine which you cut down..

²⁸ And the men of the city rise early in the morning, and lo, broken down has been the altar of Baal, and the shrine which is by it has been cut down, and the second bullock has been offered on the altar which is built.

⁴ and he has thirty sons riding on thirty ass-colts, and they have thirty cities, (they call them Havoth-Jair unto this day), which [are] in the land of Gilead;"

⁶ And the sons of Israel add to do the evil thing in the eyes of Yahweh, and serve the Baalim, and Ashtaroth, and the elohims of Aram, and the elohims of Zidon, and the elohims of Moab, and the elohims of the Bene-Ammon, and the elohims of the Philistines, and forsake Yahweh, and have not served Him;"

¹⁰ And the sons of Israel cry unto Yahweh, saying, `We have sinned against You, even because we have forsaken our Elohim, and serve the Baalim..

¹⁵ And the sons of Israel say unto Yahweh, `We have sinned, do You to us according to all that is good in Your eyes; only deliver us, we pray You, this day.. ¹⁶ And they turn aside the elohims of the stranger out of their midst, and serve Yahweh, and His soul is grieved with the misery of Israel.

⁵ for, lo, you are conceiving and bearing a son, and a razor does not go up on his head, for a Nazarite to Elohim is the youth from the womb, and he does begin to save Israel out of the hand of the Philistines..

¹ And all the sons of Israel go out, and the company is assembled as one man, from Dan even unto Beer-Sheba, and the land of Gilead, unto Yahweh, at Mizpeh.

⁴ And it comes to pass on the morrow, that the people rise early, and build there an altar, and cause to ascend burnt-offerings and peace-offerings. ⁵ And the sons of Israel say, `Who [is] he that has not come up in the assembly out of all the tribes of Israel unto Yahweh?' for the great oath has been concerning him who has not come up unto Yahweh to Mizpeh, saying, `He is surely put to death..

¹ And there is a certain man of Ramathaim-Zophim, of the hill-country of Ephraim, and his name [is] Elkanah, son of Jeroham, son of Elihu, son of Tohu, son of Zuph, and Ephrathite,

¹⁵ And Hannah answers and said, `No, my lord, A woman sharply pained in spirit I [am], and wine and strong drink I have not drunk, and I pour out my soul before Yahweh;"

¹⁹ And they rise early in the morning, and bow themselves before Yahweh, and turn back, and come in unto their house in Ramah, and Elkanah knows Hannah his wife, and Yahweh remembers her;"

¹⁰ Yahweh--broken down are His adversaries, Against them in the heavens He thunders:Yahweh judges the ends of earth, And gives strength to His king, And exalts the horn of His anointed..

¹ And the word of Samuel is to all Israel, and Israel goes out to meet the Philistines for battle, and they encamp by Eben-Ezer, and the Philistines have encamped in Aphek,

¹ And the Philistines have taken the ark of Elohim, and bring it in from Eben-Ezer to Ashdod,

¹⁴ And the cart has come in unto the field of Joshua the Beth-Shemeshite, and stands there, and there [is] a great stone, and they cleave the wood of the cart, and the kine they have caused to ascend--a burnt-offering to Yahweh. ¹⁵ And the Levites have taken down the ark of Yahweh, and the coffer which [is] with it, in which [are] the vessels of gold, and place [them] on the great stone; and the men of Beth-Shemesh have caused to ascend burnt-offerings and sacrifice sacrifices in that day to Yahweh;"

²¹ And they send messengers unto the inhabitants of Kirjath-Jearim, saying, `The Philistines have sent back the ark of Yahweh; come down, take it up unto you..

¹² And they answer them and say, `He is; lo, before you! haste, now, for to-day he has come in to the city, for the people has a stated sacrifice in a high place.

⁸ `And you have gone down before me to Gilgal, and lo, I am going down unto you, to cause to ascend burnt-offerings, to sacrifice sacrifices of peace-offerings; seven days you do wait till my coming in unto you, and I have made known to you that which you do do..

¹⁷ And Samuel calls the people unto Yahweh to Mizpeh,

¹⁵ and all the people go to Gilgal, and cause Saul to reign there before Yahweh in Gilgal, and sacrifice there sacrifices of peace-offerings before Yahweh, and there Saul rejoices--and all the men of Israel--very greatly.

¹ And Samuel said unto all Israel, `Lo, I have hearkened to your voice, to all that you said to me, and I cause to reign over you a king,

¹¹ `And Yahweh sends Jerubbaal, and Bedan, and Jephthah, and Samuel, and delivers you out of the hand of your enemies round about, and you dwell confidently.

¹⁷ is it not wheat-harvest to-day? I call unto Yahweh, and He does give voices and rain; and know you and see that your evil is great which you have done in the eyes of Yahweh, to ask for you a king..

¹⁹ and all the people say unto Samuel, `Pray for your servants unto Yahweh your Elohim, and we do not die, for we have added to all our sins evil to ask for us a king.. <sup>20</sup> And Samuel said unto the people, `Fear not; you have done all this evil; only, turn not aside from after Yahweh--and you have served Yahweh with all your heart, ²¹ and you do not turn aside after the vain things which do not profit nor deliver, for they [are] vain, ²² for Yahweh does not leave His people, on account of His great name; for Yahweh has been pleased to make you to Him for a people. ²³ `I, also, far be it from me to sin against Yahweh, by ceasing to pray for you, and I have directed you in the good and upright way;"

¹ A son of a year [is] Saul in his reigning, yea, two years he has reigned over Israel, ² and Saul chooses for himself three thousand [men] out of Israel; and two thousand are with Saul in Michmash, and in the hill-country of Beth-El; and a thousand have been with Jonathan in Gibeah of Benjamin; and the remnant of the people he has sent each to his tents. ³ And Jonathan smites the garrison of the Philistines which [is] in Geba, and the Philistines hear, and Saul has blown with a trumpet through all the land, saying, `Let the Hebrews hear.. <sup>4</sup> And all Israel have heard, saying, `Saul has smitten the garrison of the Philistines,' and also, `Israel has been abhorred by the Philistines;' and the people are called after Saul to Gilgal. ⁵ And the Philistines have been gathered to fight with Israel; thirty thousand chariots, and six thousand horsemen, and a people as the sand which [is] on the sea-shore for multitude; and they come up and encamp in Michmash, east of Beth-Aven. ⁶ And the men of Israel have seen that they are distressed, that the people has been oppressed, and the people hide themselves in caves, and in thickets, and in rocks, and in high places, and in pits.

⁶ And Jonathan said unto the young man bearing his weapons, `Come, and we pass over unto the station of these uncircumcised; it may be Yahweh does work for us, for there is no restraint to Yahweh to save by many or by few.. <sup>7</sup> And the bearer of his weapons said to him, `Do all that [is] in your heart; turn for you; lo, I [am] with you, as your own heart.. ⁸ And Jonathan said, `Lo, we are passing over unto the men, and are revealed unto them;" <sup>9</sup> if thus they say unto us, `Stand still till we have come unto you,' then we have stood in our place, and do not go up unto them;" ¹⁰ and if thus they say, `Come up against us,' then we have gone up, for Yahweh has given them into our hand, and this to us [is] the sign. <sup>11</sup> And revealed are both of them unto the station of the Philistines, and the Philistines say, `Lo, Hebrews are coming out of the holes where they have hid themselves.. ¹² And the men of the station answer Jonathan, and the bearer of his weapons, and say, `Come up unto us, and we cause you to know something.' And Jonathan said unto the bearer of his weapons, `Come up after me, for Yahweh has given them into the hand of Israel.. ¹³ And Jonathan goes up on his hands, and on his feet, and the bearer of his weapons after him; and they fall before Jonathan, and the bearer of his weapons is putting to death after him. ¹⁴ And the first smiting which Jonathan and the bearer of his weapons have smitten is of about twenty men, in about half a furrow of a yoke of a field, ¹⁵ and there is a trembling in the camp, in the field, and among all the people, the station and the destroyers have trembled--even they, and the earth shakes, and it becomes a trembling of Elohim. ¹⁶ And the watchmen of Saul in Gibeah of Benjamin see, and lo, the multitude has melted away, and it goes on, and is beaten down.

²⁰ And Saul is called, and all the people who [are] with him, and they come in unto the battle, and, lo, the sword of each has been against his neighbor--a very great destruction. ²¹ And the Hebrews [who] have been for the Philistines as heretofore, who had gone up with them into the camp, have turned round, even they, to be with Israel who [are] with Saul and Jonathan, ²² and all the men of Israel, who are hiding themselves in the hill-country of Ephraim, have heard that the Philistines have fled, and they pursue--even they--after them in battle. ²³ And Yahweh saves Israel on that day, and the battle has passed over to Beth-Aven.

² And Samuel said, `How do I go? when Saul has heard, then he has slain me.' And Yahweh said, `A heifer of the herd you do take in your hand, and have said, To sacrifice to Yahweh I have come;"

¹¹ And Saul hears--and all Israel--these words of the Philistine, and they are broken down and greatly afraid.

⁴⁹ and David puts forth his hand unto the vessel, and takes thence a stone, and slings, and smites the Philistine on his forehead, and the stone sinks into his forehead, and he falls on his face to the earth. ⁵⁰ And David is stronger than the Philistine with a sling and with a stone, and smites the Philistine, and puts him to death, and there is no sword in the hand of David, ⁵¹ and David runs and stands over the Philistine, and takes his sword, and draws it out of its sheath, and puts him to death, and cuts off with it his head; and the Philistines see that their hero [is] dead, and flee. ⁵² And the men of Israel rise--also Judah--and shout, and pursue the Philistines till you enter the valley, and unto the gates of Ekron, and the wounded of the Philistines fall in the way of Shaaraim, even unto Gath, and unto Ekron, ⁵³ and the sons of Israel turn back from burning after the Philistines, and spoil their camps.

¹⁸ And David has fled, and is escaped, and comes in unto Samuel to Ramath, and declares to him all that Saul has done to him, and he goes, he and Samuel, and they dwell in Naioth. ¹⁹ And it is declared to Saul, saying, `Lo, David [is] in Naioth in Ramah.. <sup>20</sup> And Saul sends messengers to take David, and they see the assembly of the prophets prophesying, and Samuel standing, set over them, and the Spirit of Elohim is on Saul's messengers, and they prophesy--they also. <sup>21</sup> And they declare [it] to Saul, and he sends other messengers, and they prophesy--they also; and Saul adds and sends messengers a third time, and they prophesy--they also. <sup>22</sup> And he goes--he also--to Ramath, and comes in unto the great well which [is] in Sechu, and asks, and said, `Where [are] Samuel and David?' and [one] said, `Lo, in Naioth in Ramah.. ²³ And he goes thither--unto Naioth in Ramah, and the Spirit of Elohim is upon him--him also; and he goes, going on, and he prophesies till his coming in to Naioth in Ramah,

¹ And Samuel dies, and all Israel are gathered, and mourn for him, and bury him in his house, in Ramah; and David rises and goes down unto the wilderness of Paran.

³ And Samuel has died, and all Israel mourn for him, and bury him in Ramah, even in his city, and Saul has turned aside those having familiar spirits, and the wizards, out of the land. ⁴ And the Philistines are gathered, and come in, and encamp in Shunem, and Saul gathers all Israel, and they encamp in Gilboa, ⁵ and Saul sees the camp of the Philistines, and fears, and his heart trembles greatly,

¹ And the Philistines are fighting against Israel, and the men of Israel flee from the face of the Philistines, and fall wounded in mount Gilboa, ² and the Philistines follow Saul and his sons, and the Philistines smite Jonathan, and Abinadab, and Malchishua, sons of Saul. ³ And the battle is hard against Saul, and the archers find him--men with bow--and he is pained greatly by the archers;" ⁴ and Saul said to the bearer of his weapons, `Draw your sword, and pierce me with it, lest they come--these uncircumcised--and have pierced me, and rolled themselves on me;' and the bearer of his weapons has not been willing, for he is greatly afraid, and Saul takes the sword, and falls upon it. ⁵ And the bearer of his weapons sees that Saul [is] dead, and he falls--he also--on his sword, and dies with him;" ⁶ and Saul dies, and three of his sons, and the bearer of his weapons, also all his men, on that day together. ⁷ And they see--the men of Israel, who [are] beyond the valley, and who [are] beyond the Jordan--that the men of Israel have fled, and that Saul and his sons have died, and they forsake the cities and flee, and Philistines come in, and dwell in them.

⁹ `And you, Solomon, my son, know the Elohim of your father, and serve Him with a perfect heart, and with a willing mind, for all hearts is Yahweh seeking, and every imagination of the thoughts He is understanding; if you do seek Him, He is found of you, and if you do forsake Him, He casts you off for ever.

³ but good things have been found with you, for you have put away the shrines out of the land, and have prepared your heart to seek Elohim..

⁵ Then at the time of the evening approach present I arose from my self-abasement and, with my garment and my robe torn on me, I bowed down on my knees and spread out my palms to Yahweh my Elohi. ⁶ and said:My Elohim, I am ashamed and confounded to raise up my face to You, my Elohim, for our depravities, they are abundant, above our heads, and our guilt is towering unto the heavens. ⁷ From the days of our fathers we have been in great guilt until this day; because of our depravities we ourselves, our kings, our priests have been given into the hand of the kings of the countries, to the sword, to captivity, to plundering and to shame of face, just as this day. ⁸ Yet now for a little moment, grace from Yahweh our Elohim has come to leave us as a remnant for deliverance and to give us a peg in His holy place, so that our Elohim may enlighten our eyes and give us a little revival in our servitudes. ⁹ Though we are slaves, our Elohim has not forsaken us in our servitudes; He is stretching out His benignity toward us before the kings of Persia in giving us a revival to raise up the House of our Elohim and to let its deserted places stand firm and in giving us a barrier-wall in Judah and in Jerusalem. ¹⁰ And now, what shall we say after this, O our Elohim? For we have forsaken Your instruction.

³ There is no soundness in my flesh in view of Your indignation; There is no peace in my bones in view of my sin. ⁴ For my depravities, they pass over my head; Like a heavy load, they are too heavy for me." ⁵ My welts stink and putrefy In view of my folly. ⁶ I am wretched; I bow down very low. The entire day I walk in somberness. ⁷ For my hips, they are filled with searing pain, And there is no soundness in my flesh." ⁸ I give way and am utterly crushed. I roar out of the anguish of my heart.

³ My tears were my bread by day and night, While they said to me the entire day, Where is your Elohim?

³ Hearken to Me, house of Jacob, and all the remnant of the house of Israel, My lading from the belly, and carried from My womb." ⁴ And till old age I am He, and till gray hairs shall I be burdened, I made, and I am bearing. And I will be burdened, and make you escape."

¹¹ Withdraw! Withdraw! Forth from there! The unclean you must not touch! Forth from her midst! Be pure, you bearers of the vessels of Yahweh!"

⁷ Forsake shall the wicked one his way, and the lawless man his devices, and he shall return to Yahweh, and He will have compassion on him, and to our Elohim, for he will increasingly pardon your sins."

¹ On Zion's account, I will not hush, and on Jerusalem's account I will not be quiet, till its righteousness shall fare forth as brightness, and its salvation will consume as a torch."

⁶ Over your walls, Jerusalem, I give the supervision to keepers. All the day and all the night, continually, they shall not hush reminding Yahweh. There must be no stillness for you!" ⁷ And you must not give Him stillness till He shall make ready, and till He shall establish, and till He shall constitute Jerusalem a praise in the earth."

³ For thus said Yahweh, To the man of Judah, and to Jerusalem:Till for yourselves tillage, And do not sow unto the thorns." ⁴ Be circumcised to Yahweh, And turn aside the foreskins of your heart, O man of Judah, and you inhabitants of Jerusalem, Lest My fury go out as fire, and has burned, And there is none quenching, Because of the evil of your doings."

¹ Who does make my head waters, And mine eye a fountain of tears? And I weep by day and by night, For the wounded of the daughter of my people."

¹ And Yahweh said unto me:Though Moses and Samuel should stand before Me, My soul is not toward this people, Send from before My face, and they go out."

³¹ Cast from off you all your transgressions, By which you have transgressed, And make to you a new heart, and a new spirit, And why do you die, O house of Israel?

⁴ Do you judge them? Do you judge, son of man? The abominations of their fathers cause them to know,

³ I am setting my face to my Lord the Elohim, to seek prayer and supplications in fasting and sackcloth and ashes." ⁴ I am praying to Yahweh my Elohim and am confessing and saying, "Oh, my Lord the El, great and fearful, Keeper of the covenant and the kindness for those loving Him and keeping His instructions:" ⁵ We sin and we are depraved, we do wickedly and revolt, we withdraw from Thy instructions and from Thy judgments."

¹ Go, and we will return to Yahweh, our Elohim, for He tore to pieces, and He will heal us:He was smiting, and He will bind us up." ² He will make us alive after two days:In the third day He will raise us up, and we shall live before Him."

¹ Return, O Israel, unto Yahweh, your Elohim, for you stumble in your depravity."

³ Assyria will not save us; we will not ride on the horse. Nor shall we still say, Our elohim, to the work of our hands. For in You, the orphan is being shown compassion."

⁸ Ephraim--what are grief fetishes to him any longer? I humble him, and am controlling him. I am as a flourishing fir. Your fruit is found to be from Me."

¹ And the word of Yahweh is coming to Jonah a second time saying, ² Rise! Go unto Nineveh, the great city, and call out to it the call which I am speaking to you." ³ And Jonah is rising and going to Nineveh, according to the word of Yahweh. Now Nineveh had become a great city to Elohim, of three days walking." ⁴ And Jonah is starting to enter into the city, a walk of one day. And he is calling out and saying, Forty days more and Nineveh shall be overturned." ⁵ Then the men of Nineveh are believing in Elohim. And they are calling a fast and are putting on sackcloths, from their greatest unto their small." ⁶ And the word is touching the king of Nineveh. And he is rising from his throne and is transferring his fur robe from him, and he is covering himself with sackcloth and is sitting on ashes." ⁷ And he is calling a convocation, and he is saying in Nineveh, By the decree of the king and his great ones, saying:Human and beast, herd and flock must not be tasting aught. They must not be grazing, and water they must not be drinking." ⁸ The human and the beast shall cover themselves with sackcloths. And they shall call with steadfastness to Elohim. And they shall turn back, each man, from his evil way and from the wrong which is in their palms." ⁹ Who is knowing if He will reverse, and the Elohim will regret and turn back from His hot anger, and we shall not perish? ¹⁰ And the Elohim is seeing their doings, that they turn back from their evil way. And the Elohim is regretting over the evil which He spoke to do to them, and He does it not."

⁶ And I am saying, No, my lord. And he is answering and speaking to me, saying, This is the word of Yahweh to Zerubbabel, saying:Not by valor, nor by vigor, but rather by My spirit, says Yahweh of hosts."

¹⁰ Yet I pour out on the house of David, and on the dwellers of Jerusalem, a spirit of grace and supplications; and they look to Him Whom they stabbed, and they will wail over Him as the wailing over the only son, and they will be embittered over Him as the embittering over the firstborn." ¹¹ In that day the wailing will be great in Jerusalem, as the wailing of Hadadrimmon in the valley of Megiddon."

¹⁰ Then Jesus is saying to him, "Go away, Satan, for it is written,
The Lord your God shall you be worshiping,
And to Him only shall you be offering divine service."

⁴ "Happy are those who mourn now, for they shall be consoled.

²⁴ Now no one can be slaving for two lords, for either he will be hating the one and loving the other, or will be upholding one and despising the other. You can not be slaving for God and mammon."

⁸ This people with their lips is honoring Me, Yet their heart is away at a distance from Me."

⁸ And answering, Jesus said to Him, "Go away behind Me, Satan! It is written, The Lord your God shall you be worshiping, and to Him only shall you be offering divine service."

In everything you commend yourselves to be pure in this matter."

¹⁶ Then confess sins to one another and pray for one another, so that you may be healed. The operative petition of the just is availing much."

And a great earthquake occurred, such as did not occur since mankind came to be on the earth; of such proportions was the quake and so great." ¹⁹ And the great city came to be divided into three parts; and the cities of the nations fall. And Babylon the great is brought to remembrance in the sight of God, to give her the cup of the wine of the fury of His indignation." ²⁰ And every island fled, and the mountains were not found." ²¹ And hail, large as a talent weight, is descending out of heaven on mankind. And men blaspheme God as a result of the calamity of hail, for great is its calamity-tremendous!"
