¹⁶ and Jehu son of Nimshi you do anoint for king over Israel, and Elisha son of Shaphat, of Abel-Meholah, you do anoint for prophet in your stead.

²² and the three hundred blow the trumpets, and Yahweh sets the sword of each against his companion, even through all the camp; and the camp flees unto Beth-Shittah, at Zererath, unto the border of Abel-Meholah, by Tabbath.

¹² Baana Ben-Ahilud [has] Taanach and Megiddo, and all Beth-Shean, which [is] by Zartanah beneath Jezreel, from Beth-Shean unto Abel-Meholah, unto beyond Jokneam.

¹⁹ And he goes thence, and finds Elisha son of Shaphat, and he is plowing; twelve yoke [are] before him, and he [is] with the twelfth; and Elijah passes over unto him, and casts his robe upon him, ²⁰ and he forsakes the oxen, and runs after Elijah, and said, `Let me give a kiss, I pray you, to my father and to my mother, and I go after you.' And he said to him, `Go, turn back, for what have I done to you?. ²¹ And he turns back from after him, and takes the yoke of oxen, and sacrifices it, and with instruments of the oxen he has boiled their flesh, and gives to the people, and they eat, and he rises, and goes after Elijah, and serves him.

⁹ And it comes to pass, at their passing over, that Elijah has said unto Elisha, `Ask, what do I do for you before I am taken from you?' and Elisha said, `Then let there be, I pray you, a double portion of your spirit unto me;.

¹⁵ And they see him--the sons of the prophets who [are] in Jericho--over-against, and they say, `Rested has the spirit of Elijah on Elisha;' and they come to meet him, and bow themselves to him to the earth,

¹ And Elisha the prophet has called to one of the sons of the prophets, and said to him, `Gird up your loins, and take this vial of oil in your hand, and go to Ramoth-Gilead, <sup>2</sup> and you have gone in there, and see you there Jehu son of Jehoshaphat, son of Nimshi, and you have gone in, and caused him to rise out of the midst of his brethren, and brought him in to the inner part of an inner-chamber, <sup>3</sup> and taken the vial of oil, and poured on his head, and said, Thus said Yahweh, I have anointed you for king unto Israel; and you have opened the door, and fled, and do not wait.. <sup>4</sup> And the young man goes--the young man the prophet--to Ramoth-Gilead, <sup>5</sup> and comes in, and lo, chiefs of the force are sitting, and he said, `I have a word unto you, O chief!' and Jehu said, `Unto which of all of us?' and he said, `Unto you, O chief.. ⁶ And he rises and comes in to the house, and he pours the oil on his head, and said to him, `Thus said Yahweh, Elohim of Israel, I have anointed you for king unto the people of Yahweh, unto Israel, <sup>7</sup> and you have smitten the house of Ahab your lord, and I have required the blood of My servants the prophets, and the blood of all the servants of Yahweh, from the hand of Jezebel;" <sup>8</sup> and perished has all the house of Ahab, and I have cut off to Ahab those sitting on the wall, and restrained, and left, in Israel, <sup>9</sup> and I have given up the house of Ahab like the house of Jeroboam son of Nebat, and as the house of Baasha son of Ahijah, <sup>10</sup> and Jezebel do the dogs eat in the portion of Jezreel, and there is none burying;' and he opens the door and flees. <sup>11</sup> And Jehu has gone out unto the servants of his lord, and [one] said to him, `Is there peace? wherefore came this madman unto you?' and he said unto them, `You have known the man and his talk.. <sup>12</sup> And they say, `False, declare, we pray you, to us;' and he said, `Thus and thus spoke he unto me, saying, Thus said Yahweh, I have anointed you for king unto Israel.. <sup>13</sup> And they haste and take each his garment, and put [it] under him at the top of the stairs, and blow with a trumpet, and say, `Reigned has Jehu!. ¹⁴ And Jehu son of Jehoshaphat, son of Nimshi, conspires against Joram--(and Joram was keeping in Ramoth-Gilead, he and all Israel, from the presence of Hazael king of Aram,

²⁷ And many lepers were in Israel under Elisha the prophet, and none of them is cleansed except Naaman the Syrian."
