¹ For the courses of the gatekeepers:of the Korhites [is] Meshelemiah son of Kore, of the sons of Asaph;"

⁹ and the sons of Eliab, Nemuel, Dathan and Abiram. The same Dathan and Abiram were the called of the congregation who strove against Moses and against Aaron in the congregation of Korah when they strove against Yahwe. ¹⁰ and the earth opened its mouth and swallowed them up with Korah in the death of that congregation when the fire devoured two hundred fifty men, and they became like a warning banner. ¹¹ Yet the sons of Korah did not die.

³⁷ son of Tahath, son of Assir, son of Ebiasaph, son of Korah,

¹⁷ And the gatekeepers [are] Shallum, and Akkub, and Talmon, and Ahiman, and their brethren--Shallum [is] the head;" ¹⁸ and hitherto they [are] at the gate of the king eastward; they [are] the gatekeepers for the companies of the sons of Levi. ¹⁹ And Shallum son of Kore, son of Ebiasaph, son of Korah, and his brethren, of the house of his father, the Korahites, [are] over the work of the service, keepers of the thresholds of the tent, and their fathers [are] over the camp of Yahweh, keepers of the entrance;" ²⁰ and Phinehas son of Eleazar has been leader over them formerly; Yahweh [is] with him. ²¹ Zechariah son of Meshelemiah [is] gatekeeper at the opening of the tent of meeting. ²² All of those who are chosen for gatekeepers at the thresholds [are] two hundred and twelve; they [are] in their villages, by their genealogy; they whom David and Samuel the seer appointed in their office. ²³ And they and their sons [are] over the gates of the house of Yahweh, even of the house of the tent, by watches. ²⁴ At four sides are the gatekeepers, east, west, north, and south. ²⁵ And their brethren in their villages [are] to come in for seven days from time to time with these. ²⁶ For in office [are] the four chiefs of the gatekeepers, they are Levites, and they have been over the chambers, and over the treasuries of the house of Elohim, ²⁷ and round about the house of Elohim they lodge, for on them [is] the watch, and they [are] over the opening, even morning by morning.

¹⁸ and with them their brethren, the seconds [in rank], Zechariah, Ben, and Jaaziel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehiel, and Unni, Eliab, and Benaiah, and Maaseiah, and Mattithiah, and Elipheleh, and Mikneiah; and Obed-Edom and Jeiel the gatekeepers;"

²³ And Berechiah and Elkanah [are] gatekeepers for the ark. ²⁴ And Shebaniah, and Joshaphat, and Nethaneel, and Amasai, and Zechariah, and Benaiah, and Eliezer the priests, are blowing with trumpets before the ark of Elohim; and Obed-Edom and Jehiah [are] gatekeepers for the ark.

¹⁹ and he stations the gatekeepers over the gates of the house of Yahweh, and the unclean in anything does not go in.

¹ {For the Sons of Korah, Contemplating{ O Elohim, with our ears we have heard; Our fathers, they recounted it to us:The deed You effected in their days, in the days aforetime."

¹ {A Psalm for the Sons of Korah{ Hear this, all peoples! Give ear, all dwellers of this transience!"
