¹⁴ For the great day of the Lord is near, it is near, and very speedy; the sound of the day of the Lord is made bitter and harsh.

⁴ For Heshbon and Elealeh have cried; their voice was heard to Jahaz; therefore the loins of the region of Moab cry aloud; her soul shall know.

⁴ Therefore I said, Let me alone, I will weep bitterly; labor not to comfort me for the breach of the daughter of my people. ⁵ For it is a day of trouble, and of destruction, and of treading down, and there is perplexity sent from the Lord of hosts; they wander in the valley of Zion; they wander from the least to the greatest on the mountains.

⁷ Behold now, these shall be terrified with fear of you; those whom you feared shall cry out because of you; messengers shall be sent, bitterly weeping, entreating for peace.

⁶ A voice of a cry from the city, a voice from the temple, a voice of the Lord rendering recompense to His adversaries.

³⁶ A voice of the crying of the shepherds, and a moaning of the sheep and the rams: for the Lord has destroyed their pastures.

⁷ For that day is great, and there is none like it; and it is a time of Jacob's trouble, but he shall be saved out of it.

⁴¹ Kerioth is taken, and the strongholds have been taken together.

⁶ The end has come on you, ⁷ the inhabitant of the land: the time has come, the day has drawn near, not with tumult, nor with pangs.

¹² The time has come, behold the day: let not the buyer rejoice, and let not the seller mourn.

²³ Therefore say to them, Thus says the Lord: I will even set aside this parable, and the house of Israel shall by no means use this parable again; for you shall say to them, The days are at hand, and the fulfillment of every vision.

³ For the day of the Lord is near, a day of clouds; it shall be the end of the nations.

¹⁵ Alas, Alas, Alas for the day! For the day of the Lord is near, and it will come as trouble upon trouble.

¹ Sound the trumpet in Zion, make a proclamation in My holy mountain, and let all the inhabitants of the land be confounded; for the day of the Lord is near;

¹¹ And the Lord shall utter His voice before His army, for His camp is very great; for the execution of His words is mighty; for the day of the Lord is great, very glorious, and who shall be able to resist it?

³¹ The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the coming of the great and glorious day of the Lord.

¹⁶ And the Lord shall cry out of Zion, and shall utter His voice from Jerusalem; and the heaven and the earth shall be shaken, but the Lord shall spare His people, and shall strengthen the children of Israel.

² And He said, What do you see, Amos? And I said, A fowler's basket. And the Lord said to me, The end has come upon My people Israel; I will not pass by them anymore.

⁷ Be fearful before the Lord God; for the day of the Lord is near; for the Lord has prepared His sacrifice, and has sanctified His guests.

¹⁰ And there shall be in that day, says the Lord, the sound of a cry from the gate of men slaying, and a howling from the second gate, and a great crashing from the hills.

⁵ And, behold, I will send to you Elijah the Tishbite, before the great and glorious day of the Lord comes;

²⁰ The sun shall be changed into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the coming of the great and awesome Day of the Lord.

⁵ Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand.

¹⁶ Because the Lord Himself shall descend from heaven with a word of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ shall rise first.

²⁶ whose voice then shook the earth; but now He has promised, saying, "Yet once more I shake not only the earth, but also the heaven."

⁹ Do not murmur against one another, brothers, lest you be judged. Behold, the Judge stands before the doors!

³ And by covetousness they will exploit you with fabricated words; for a long time their judgment has not been idle, and their destruction will not sleep.

¹⁵ And the kings of the earth, and the magnates and the high-ranking military men, and the rich and the mighty, and every slave and every free man, hid themselves in the caves and in the crags of the mountains. ¹⁶ And they said to the mountains and crags, "Fall on us and hide us from the face of Him that sits on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb! ¹⁷ For the great day of His wrath has come, and who shall be able to stand?"
