⁹ You rule the power of the sea; and You calm the tumult of its waves.

⁸ And I shut up the sea with gates, when it rushed out, coming forth out its mother's womb. ⁹ And I made a cloud its clothing, and swathed it in mist. ¹⁰ And I set bounds to it, surrounding it with bars and gates. ¹¹ And I said to it, To this point you shall come, but you shall not go beyond, but your waves shall be confined within you.

¹⁰ The Lord will dwell on the waterflood; and the Lord will sit as king forever.

⁷ who trouble the depth of the sea, the sounds of its waves.

⁵ Come and behold the works of God; He is mighty in His counsels beyond the children of men, ⁶ who turns the sea into dry land; they shall go through the river on foot; there shall we rejoice in Him,

³ The rivers have lifted up, O Lord, the rivers have lifted up their voices, ⁴ at the voices of many waters; the billows of the sea are wonderful; the Lord is wonderful in high places.

²⁵ He speaks, and the stormy wind arises, and its waves are lifted up. ²⁶ They go up to the heavens, and go down to the depths; their soul melts because of troubles. ²⁷ They are troubled, they stagger as a drunkard, and all their wisdom is swallowed up. ²⁸ Then they cry to the Lord in their affliction, and He brings them out of their distresses. ²⁹ And He commands the storm, and it is calmed into a gentle breeze, and its waves are still.

⁴ He threatens the sea, and dries it up, and exhausts all the rivers: the land of Bashan and Carmel are brought low, and the flourishing trees of Lebanon have come to nought.

²⁴ And behold, a great tempest arose on the sea, so that the boat was covered by waves; but He was sleeping. ²⁵ Then the disciples came and awoke Him, saying, "Lord, save us! We are perishing!" ²⁶ But He said to them, "Why are you fearful, O you of little faith?" Then having risen, He rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm. ²⁷ So the men marveled, saying, "What kind of Man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey Him?"

³² And when they had gotten into the boat, the wind ceased.

³⁹ And having awakened He rebuked the wind, and He said to the sea, "Be quiet, be muzzled!" And the wind abated and there was a great calm.

⁴¹ And they feared exceedingly, and were saying to one another, "Who then is this, that even the wind and the sea obey Him!"
