³ And Moses and Aaron went in before Pharaoh, and they said to him, Thus says the Lord God of the Hebrews: How long do you refuse to reverence Me? Let My people go, that they may serve Me.

²⁸ And the Lord said to Moses, How long are you unwilling to heed My commands and My law?

⁶ And the Lord passed by before his face, and proclaimed, The Lord God, gracious and merciful, longsuffering and very compassionate, and true, ⁷ and keeping justice and mercy for thousands, taking away iniquity and unrighteousness and sins; and He will not clear the guilty; bringing the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and to the children's children, to the third and fourth generation.

¹⁰ And it shall come to pass, when the Lord your God has brought you into the land which He swore to your fathers, to Abraham, and to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give you great and beautiful cities which you did not build, ¹¹ houses full of all good things which you did not fill, wells dug in the rock which you did not dig, vineyards and olive trees which you did not plant, then having eaten and been filled, ¹² beware lest you forget the Lord your God that brought you forth out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.

⁷ And the women began this song, and said, Saul has slain his thousands, and David his ten thousands.

²¹ And Saul said, I will give her to him, and she shall be a stumbling block to him. Now the hand of the Philistines was against Saul. ²² And Saul charged his servants, saying, Speak privately to David, saying, Behold, the king delights in you, and all his servants love you. Now therefore, become the king's son-in-law. ²³ And the servants of Saul spoke these words in the ears of David. And David said, Is it a light thing in your eyes to become son-in-law to the king? Seeing I am a humble man, and not honorable? ²⁴ And Saul's servants reported to him according to these words which David spoke. ²⁵ And Saul said, Thus shall you speak to David: The king wants no gift but one hundred foreskins of the Philistines, to avenge himself on the kings enemies. Now Saul thought to cast him into the hands of the Philistines. ²⁶ And Saul's servants reported these words to David, and David was well pleased to become the son-in-law to the king.

¹⁹ And the Ziphites came up out of the dry country to Saul to the hill, saying, Behold, is not David hidden with us in Messara, in the narrows in Caene in the hill of Echela, which is on the right of Jeshimon? ²⁰ And now according to all the king's desire to come down, let him come down to us; they have shut him up into the hands of the king.

¹⁰ And David said, As the Lord lives, the Lord shall strike him, or his day shall come and he die, or he shall go down to battle and be added to his fathers.

⁴¹ And with him were Heman and Jeduthun, and the rest chosen out by name to praise the Lord, for His mercy endures forever. ⁴² And with them there were trumpets and cymbals to sound aloud, and musical instruments for the songs of God; and the sons of Jeduthun were at the gate.

¹ And King David and the captains of the army appointed to their services the sons of Asaph, and of Heman, and of Jeduthun, who should prophesy with harps, lutes, and cymbals; and their number was according to their polls serving in their ministrations.

³ To Jeduthun were reckoned the sons of Jeduthun, Gedaliah, Zeri, Jeshaiah, Shimei, Hashabiah, and Mattithiah, six after their father Jeduthun, sounding loudly on the harp thanksgiving and praise to the Lord.

¹⁵ Though the Mighty One should lay His hand upon me, forasmuch as He has begun, verily I will speak, and plead before Him.

And my ground of hope is with You. Pause.

⁴ I remembered these things, and poured out my soul in me, for I will go to the place of Your wondrous tabernacle, even to the house of God, with a voice of exaltation and thanksgiving and of the sound of those who keep festival. ⁵ Why are you downcast, O my soul? And why do you trouble me? Hope in God; for I will give thanks to Him; He is the salvation of my countenance.

²³ Truly the hills and the strength of the mountains were a lying refuge; but by the Lord our God is the salvation of Israel.

¹⁸ Who is a God like You, canceling iniquities, and passing over the sins of the remnant of His inheritance? And He has not kept His anger for a testimony, for He delights in mercy.

³ For the vision is yet for a time, and it shall shoot forth at the end, and not in vain: though he should tarry, wait for him; for he will surely come, and will not tarry.

⁸ Therefore wait upon Me, says the Lord, until the day when I rise up for a witness: because My judgment shall be on the gatherings of the nations, to draw to Me kings, to pour out upon them all My fierce anger: for the whole earth shall be consumed with the fire of My jealousy.

³ But when Herod the king heard this, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him. ⁴ And having gathered together all the chief priests and scribes of the people, he inquired from them where the Christ would be born.

¹⁶ Then Herod, seeing that he had been deceived by the wise men, was greatly enraged; and he sent and executed all the boys in Bethlehem and in all its districts, from two years old and under, according to the time which he had ascertained from the wise men.

¹³ And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.

³ Then the chief priests, the scribes, and the elders of the people were assembled into the court of the high priest, who was called Caiaphas, ⁴ and plotted to take Jesus by guile and kill Him.

¹ When morning came, all the chief priests and elders of the people plotted against Jesus, so as to put Him to death.

¹⁸ And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me.

³⁶ For what shall it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and forfeits his soul? ³⁷ Or what shall a man give as an equivalent for his soul?

²³ And looking around, Jesus says to His disciples, "How difficult it is for those having riches to enter the kingdom of God!"

³⁰ for my eyes have seen Your salvation ³¹ which You have prepared before the face of all peoples, ³² a light for a revelation to the Gentiles, and a glory to Your people Israel."

³⁹ But the Lord said to him, "Now you Pharisees clean the outside of the cup and of the dish, but the inside of you is full of greed and evil.

¹⁵ And He said to them, "Take heed and beware of covetousness, for one's life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions." ¹⁶ Then He told a parable to them, saying: "The field of a certain rich man produced well. ¹⁷ And he reasoned within himself, saying, 'What shall I do, because I have nowhere to gather my crops?' ¹⁸ So he said, 'I will do this: I will tear down my barns and I will build bigger ones, and there I will gather all my crops and my goods. ¹⁹ And I will say to my soul, "Soul, you have many goods laid away for many years; relax; eat, drink, and be merry." ' ²⁰ But God said to him, 'You fool! This night your soul will be required of you; then whose will those things be which you have prepared?' ²¹ So is he who accumulates treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God."

²⁰ And having watched Him closely, they sent spies who pretended to be righteous, that they might seize on His words, in order to deliver Him to the rule and the authority of the governor.

⁶⁷ Then Jesus said to the twelve, "Do you also want to go away?" ⁶⁸ But Simon Peter answered Him, "Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. ⁶⁹ Also we have come to believe and know that You are the Christ, the Son of the living God."

⁴⁴ You are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father you desire to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and has not stood in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he tells a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar, and the father of lies.

⁴⁷ Therefore the chief priests and the Pharisees gathered a council and said, "What are we doing? For this Man works many signs. ⁴⁸ If we leave Him alone in this way, all will believe in Him, and the Romans will come and will take away both our place and our nation." ⁴⁹ But a certain one of them, Caiaphas, being high priest that year, said to them, "You don't know anything, ⁵⁰ nor do you consider that it is advantageous for us that one man should die for the people, and not that the whole nation should perish."

¹¹ Jesus answered, "You would have no authority at all against Me unless it had been given to you from above. Therefore the one who betrayed Me to you has a greater sin."

¹⁵ But they cried out, "Away with Him, away with Him! Crucify Him!" Pilate said to them, "Shall I crucify your King?" The chief priests answered, "We have no king but Caesar!"

¹⁶ saying, "What shall we do to these men? For indeed, that a known sign has come to pass by them is evident to all those who are dwelling in Jerusalem, and we are not able to deny it. ¹⁷ But lest it be spread further among the people, let us threaten them with a threat, to speak no longer in this name."

²⁵ who by the mouth of Your servant David have said: 'Why did the nations rage, and the people conspired vain things? ²⁶ The kings of the earth took their stand, and the rulers were assembled together against the LORD and against His Christ.' ²⁷ "For truly they were assembled against Your holy Servant Jesus, whom You anointed, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles and the people of Israel, ²⁸ to do all that Your hand and Your counsel foreordained to come to pass.

³² who, having known the righteous judgment of God, that those practicing such things are worthy of death, not only do them, but also approve of those who practice them.

⁶ who will recompense to each one according to his works:

⁴ Certainly not! Indeed, let God be true but every man a liar, just as it is written: "That You may be justified in Your words, and You may overcome when You are judged."

²² For I delight in the law of God according to the inward man.

³⁰ But from Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification and redemption; ³¹ that, as it is written, "He that boasts, let him boast in the LORD."

⁸ Now he who plants and he who waters are one, and each one will receive his own reward according to his own labor.

¹³ No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not permit you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation, He will also make the way out, so as for you to be able to bear it.

⁸ in everything being oppressed, yet not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; ⁹ persecuted, but not abandoned; cast down, but not destroyed;

¹⁰ For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, in accordance with the things which he did, whether good or bad.

¹⁴ But God forbid that I should boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.

⁸ knowing that whatever good thing anyone does, the same he shall receive back from the Lord, whether he is a slave or free.

²⁰ according to my earnest expectation and hope that in nothing I will be ashamed, but with utmost boldness, as always, now also Christ will be magnified in my body, whether by life or by death.

⁶ Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and petition, along with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;

²⁵ But the one doing wrong will be repaid for what he has done, and there is not partiality.

¹⁰ For the love of money is a root of all evils, of which some by aspiring have strayed away from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

¹⁷ Command those who are rich in this present age not to be haughty, nor to put their hope on the uncertainty of riches, but in the living God, who provides all things richly for us to enjoy, ¹⁸ in order that through two unchangeable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we might have strong encouragement, who have fled to take hold of the hope being set before us;

⁷ Therefore be patient, brothers, until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer awaits for the precious fruit of the earth, being patient for it, until it receives the early and late rain.

¹⁷ And if you call on the Father, who without partiality judges according to each one's work, pass the time of your sojourning here in fear;

²⁸ And now, little children, abide in Him, in order that when He appears, we may have confidence and not be ashamed due to Him at His coming.

¹ After these things I heard as it were a loud voice of a great multitude in heaven, saying, "Hallelujah! Salvation and glory and power belong to our God!

¹² "And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to render to each one according to his work.

¹⁵ But outside are dogs and drug users and fornicators and murderers and idolaters, and everyone who loves and practices a lie.
