¹³ I believe that I shall see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.

¹³ A mortal has not known its way, neither indeed has it been discovered among men.

³⁰ And He has delivered my soul from death, that my life may praise Him in the light.

¹⁹ How abundant is the multitude of Your goodness, O Lord, which You have laid up for them that fear You! You have wrought it out for them that hope on You, in the presence of the sons of men.

⁵ Why are you downcast, O my soul? And why do you trouble me? Hope in God; for I will give thanks to Him; He is the salvation of my countenance.

⁵ Therefore may God destroy you forever, may He pluck you up and utterly remove you from your dwelling, and your root from the land of the living. Pause.

³ They shall be afraid, but I will trust in You.

¹³ For You have delivered my soul from death, and my feet from sliding, that I should be well-pleasing before God in the land of the living.

⁹ I shall be well-pleasing before the Lord in the land of the living. Alleluia. ¹⁰ I believed, therefore I have spoken; but I was greatly afflicted. ¹¹ And I said in my amazement, Every man is a liar.

⁵ I cried unto You, O Lord, and said, You are my hope, my portion in the land of the living.

¹¹ I said, I shall no more see the salvation of God in the land of the living; I shall no more see the salvation of Israel on the earth; I shall no more see man.

¹⁹ The living shall bless You, as I also do; for from this day shall I beget children, who shall declare Your righteousness,

¹⁹ But I, as an innocent lamb led to the slaughter, did not know. Against me they devised an evil device, saying, Come and let us put wood into his bread, and let us utterly destroy him from off the land of the living, and let his name not be remembered any more.

²⁰ and great waters shall cover you, and I shall bring you down to them that go down to the pit, to the people of old time, and shall cause you to dwell in the depths of the earth, as in everlasting desolation, with them that go down to the pit, that you may not be inhabited, nor stand upon the land of life;

¹ Therefore, since we have this ministry, as we received mercy, we do not despair,

⁸ in everything being oppressed, yet not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; ⁹ persecuted, but not abandoned; cast down, but not destroyed; ¹⁰ always carrying about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, so that also the life of Jesus may be revealed in our body. ¹¹ For we who are living are always handed over to death for Jesus' sake, so that the life of Jesus also may be manifest in our body. ¹² So then death is working in us, but life in you. ¹³ And since we have the same spirit of faith, according to that which is written, "I believed, and therefore I spoke," we also believe, therefore we also speak, ¹⁴ knowing that He who raised the Lord Jesus will also raise us through Jesus, and will present us together with you.

¹⁶ Therefore we do not despair, but even if our outward man is being destroyed, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day.

⁸ For by grace you are saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God,
