¹ A Song of Degrees. Blessed are all they that fear the Lord; who walk in His ways. ² You shall eat the labors of your hands. Blessed are you, and it shall be well with you. ³ Your wife shall be as a fruitful vine on the sides of your house; your children as young olive-plants round about your table. ⁴ Behold, thus shall the man be blessed that fears the Lord. ⁵ May the Lord bless you out of Zion; and may you see the prosperity of Jerusalem all the days of your life ⁶ And may you see your children's children. Peace be upon Israel.

^{19 (3:20)} In the sweat of your face shall you eat your bread until you return to the ground out of which you were taken, for dust you are, and to dust you shall return.

³⁹ You shall plant a vineyard, and dress it, and shall not drink the wine, neither shall you delight yourself with it, because the worm shall devour it.

⁵¹ And it shall eat up the young of your livestock, and the fruits of your land, so as not to leave to you grain, wine, oil, the herds of your oxen, and the flocks of your sheep, until it has destroyed you;

³ And it came to pass when the children of Israel sowed, that Midian and Amalek went up, and the children of the east went up together with them. ⁴ And they encamped against them, and destroyed their fruits until they came to Gaza; and they left not the support of life in the land of Israel, not even ox or donkey among the herds. ⁵ For they and their stock came up, and their tents were with them, as the locust in multitude, and there was no number to them and their camels; and they came to the land of Israel, and laid it waste. ⁶ And Israel was greatly impoverished because of Midian.

¹⁶ And Job lived after his affliction one hundred and seventy years: and all the years he lived were two hundred and forty: and Job saw his sons and his sons' sons, to the fourth generation.

¹ Blessed is the man who has not walked in the counsel of the ungodly, and has not stood in the way of sinners, and has not sat in the seat of evil men. ² But his pleasure is in the law of the Lord; and in His law will he meditate day and night. ³ And he shall be as a tree planted by the brooks of waters, which shall yield its fruit in its season, and its leaf shall not fall off; and whatsoever he shall do shall prosper.

² May He send you help from the sanctuary, and aid you out of Zion.

⁸ But I am as a fruitful olive in the house of God; I have trusted in the mercy of God forever, even forevermore.

¹³ If My people had hearkened to Me, if Israel had walked in My ways,

¹ A Psalm of David. Bless the Lord, O my soul; and all that is within me, bless His holy name.

¹³ As a father pities his children, the Lord pities them that fear Him.

¹⁷ But the mercy of the Lord is from generation to generation upon them that fear Him, and His righteousness to children's children;

¹¹ Let his creditor exact all that belongs to him; and let strangers spoil his labors.

¹ Alleluia. Blessed is the man that fears the Lord; he will delight greatly in His commandments.

¹³ He has blessed them that fear the Lord, both small and great.

²⁶ Blessed is he that comes in the name of the Lord; we have blessed you out of the house of the Lord.

³ For they that work iniquity have not walked in His ways.

¹ A Song of Degrees. In my affliction I cried to the Lord, and He hearkened to me.

¹ A Song of Degrees. If it had not been that the Lord was among us, let Israel now say;

¹ A Song of Degrees. They that trust in the Lord shall be as Mount Zion: he that dwells in Jerusalem shall never be moved.

⁵ But them that turn aside to crooked ways the Lord will lead away with the workers of iniquity; but peace shall be upon Israel.

¹ A Song of Degrees. Except the Lord build the house, they that build labor in vain: except the Lord keep the city, the watchman watches in vain.

⁵ Blessed is the man who shall satisfy his desire with them; they shall not be ashamed when they shall speak to their enemies in the gates.

³ May the Lord, who made heaven and earth, bless you out of Zion.

²¹ Blessed in Zion is the Lord, who dwells in Jerusalem.

¹² whose children are as plants, strengthened in their youth: their daughters are beautiful, sumptuously adorned after the likeness of a temple.

¹¹ The Lord takes pleasure in them that fear Him, and in all that hope in His mercy.

¹⁵ Drink waters out of your own vessels, and out of your own springing wells. ¹⁶ Let not waters out of your fountain be spilled by you, but let your waters go into your streets. ¹⁷ Let them be yours alone, and let no stranger partake with you. ¹⁸ Let your fountain of water be truly your own, and rejoice with the wife of your youth.

⁶ Children's children are the crown of old men; and their fathers are the glory of children. ^(17:6A) The faithful has the whole world full of wealth; but the faithless not even a farthing.

¹⁸ Behold, I have seen good, that it is a fine thing for a man to eat and to drink, and to see good in all his labor in which he may labor under the sun; all the number of the days of his life which God has given to him; for it is his portion. ¹⁹ Yea, and as for every man to whom God has given wealth and possessions, and has given to him power to eat thereof, and to receive his portion, and to rejoice in his labor; this is the gift of God.

¹² He that has sinned has done evil from that time, and from long beforehand. Nevertheless I know, that it is well with them that fear God, that they may fear before Him.

³ And many nations shall go and say, Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, and to the house of the God of Jacob; and He will tell us His way, and we will walk in it; for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the Lord out of Jerusalem.

¹⁰ Woe to their soul, for they have devised an evil counsel against themselves, saying against themselves, Let us bind the just, for he is burdensome to us; therefore shall they eat the fruits of their works.

²⁰ Behold the city of Zion, our refuge; your eyes shall behold Jerusalem, a rich city, tabernacles which shall not be shaken, neither shall the pins of her tabernacle be moved forever, neither shall her cords be at all broken;

⁸ For the Lord has sworn by His glory, and by the might of His arm, I will no more give your grain and your provisions to your enemies; nor shall strangers anymore drink your wine, for which you have labored.

¹³ Therefore thus says the Lord: Behold, My servants shall eat, but you shall hunger; behold, My servants shall drink, but you shall thirst; behold, My servants shall rejoice, but you shall be ashamed;

²¹ and they shall build houses, and they shall dwell in them; and they shall plant vineyards, and shall eat its fruit. ²² They shall by no means build, and others inhabit; and they shall by no means plant, and others eat; for as the days of the tree of life shall be the days of My people, they shall long enjoy the fruits of their labors. ²³ My elect shall not toil in vain; neither shall they beget children to be cursed; for they are a seed blessed of God, and their offspring with them.

¹² For thus says the Lord: Behold, I turn toward them as a river of peace, and as a torrent bringing upon them in a flood the glory of the Gentiles; their children shall be borne upon the shoulders, and comforted on the knees.

¹⁶ The Lord has called your name a fair olive tree, of a pleasant shade in appearance, at the noise of its being lopped, fire was kindled against it; great is the affliction coming upon you. Her branches have become good for nothing.

¹⁵ Shall you reign because you are provoked with your father Ahaz? They shall not eat, and they shall not drink: it is better for you to execute justice and righteousness.

¹⁰ Your mother was as a vine and as a blossom on a pomegranate tree, planted by water; her fruit and her shoot abounded by reason of much water.

⁶ His branches shall spread, and he shall be as a fruitful olive, and his smell shall be as the smell of Lebanon. ⁷ They shall return, and dwell under his shadow: they shall live and be satisfied with grain, and he shall flower like a vine. His memorial shall be to Ephraim as the wine of Lebanon.

⁶ And they were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless.

⁵⁰ And His mercy is on those who fear Him from generation to generation.

³¹ Then the churches throughout all Judea, Galilee, and Samaria had peace and were edified, and going in the fear of the Lord and in the encouragement of the Holy Spirit, were multiplying.

²⁴ For if you were cut out of the olive tree which is wild by nature, and were grafted contrary to nature into a cultivated olive tree, how much more shall these, the natural ones, be grafted into their own olive tree?

⁵⁸ So then, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.

¹⁶ to reveal His Son in me, so that I might preach Him among the Gentiles, I did not immediately consult with flesh and blood,

³ Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenlies in Christ,

³ "that it may be well with you, and you may live long on the earth."

¹ Finally then, brothers, we request of you and exhort you in the Lord Jesus, just as you received from us how you ought to walk and to please God, that you should abound more.
