⁴ He has caused His wonderful works to be remembered; the Lord is merciful and compassionate.

²⁶ And it shall come to pass, if your sons say to you, What is this service? ²⁷ That you shall say to them, This Passover is a sacrifice to the Lord, as He defended the houses of the children of Israel in Egypt, when He struck the Egyptians, but delivered our houses.

¹⁴ And if later on your son should ask you, saying, What is this? Then you shall say to him, With a strong hand the Lord brought us out of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. ¹⁵ And when Pharaoh hardened his heart so as not to send us away, He slew every firstborn in the land of Egypt, both the firstborn of man and the firstborn of beast; therefore I sacrifice every offspring that opens the womb, the males to the Lord, and every firstborn of my sons I will redeem.

⁶ And the Lord passed by before his face, and proclaimed, The Lord God, gracious and merciful, longsuffering and very compassionate, and true, ⁷ and keeping justice and mercy for thousands, taking away iniquity and unrighteousness and sins; and He will not clear the guilty; bringing the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and to the children's children, to the third and fourth generation.

⁹ Take heed to yourself, and keep your heart diligently: forget not any of the things, which your eyes have seen, and let them not depart from your heart all the days of your life; and you shall teach your sons and your sons' sons,

¹⁹ And now write the words of this song, and teach it to the children of Israel, and you shall put it into their mouth, that this song may witness for Me among the children of Israel to their face. ²⁰ For I will bring them into the good land, which I swore to their fathers, to give to them a land flowing with milk and honey, and they shall eat and be filled and satisfy themselves. Then they shall turn aside after other gods, and serve them, and they shall provoke Me, and break My covenant. ²¹ And this song shall stand up to witness against them; for they shall not forget it out of their mouth, or out of the mouth of their seed; for I know their wickedness, what they are doing here this day, before I have brought them into the good land, which I swore to their fathers. ²² And Moses wrote this song in that day, and taught it to the children of Israel. ²³ And he charged Joshua, and said, Be courageous and strong, for you shall bring the sons of Israel into the land, which the Lord swore to them, and He shall be with you. ²⁴ And when Moses finished writing all the words of this law in a book, even to the end, ²⁵ then he charged the Levites who bear the ark of the covenant of the Lord, saying, ²⁶ Take the book of this law, and you shall put it in the side of the ark of the covenant of the Lord your God; and it shall be there among you for a testimony. ²⁷ For I know your provocation, and your stiff neck; for yet during my life with you at this day, you have been provoking in your conduct toward God: how shall you not also be so after my death? ²⁸ Gather together to me the heads of your tribes, and your elders, and your judges, and your officers, that I may speak in their ears all these words; and I call both heaven and earth to witness against them. ²⁹ For I know that after my death you will utterly transgress, and turn aside out of the way which I have commanded you; and evils shall come upon you in the latter days, because you will do evil before the Lord, to provoke Him to anger by the works of your hands. ³⁰ And Moses spoke all the words of this song even to the end, in the ears of the whole assembly.

⁶ that these may be to you continually for an appointed sign, that when your son asks you in the future, saying, What are these stones to us? ⁷ then you may explain to your son, saying, The River Jordan was dried up from before the ark of the covenant of the Lord of the whole earth, when it crossed over; and these stones shall be for a memorial for you for the children of Israel forever.

²¹ saying, When your sons ask you, saying, What are these stones? ²² Tell your sons, that Israel went over this Jordan River on dry land, ²³ when the Lord our God had dried up the water of the Jordan from before them, until they had passed over; as the Lord our God did to the Red Sea, which the Lord our God dried up from before us, until we passed over. ²⁴ That all the nations of the earth might know, that the power of the Lord is mighty, and that you might worship the Lord our God in every work.

⁴ They were not hid from their children to a second generation; the fathers declaring the praises of the Lord, and His mighty acts, and His wonders which He has done. ⁵ And He raised up a testimony in Jacob, and appointed a law in Israel, which He commanded our fathers, to make it known to their children; ⁶ that another generation might know, even the sons which should be born; and they should arise and declare them to their children. ⁷ That they might set their hope on God, and not forget the works of God, but diligently seek His commandments. ⁸ That they should not be as their fathers, a perverse and provoking generation; a generation which set not its heart aright, and its spirit was not steadfast with God.

³⁸ But He is compassionate, and will forgive their sins, and will not destroy them; yea, He will frequently turn away His wrath, and will not kindle all His anger.

⁵ For You, O Lord, are kind and gentle, and plenteous in mercy to all that call upon You.

¹⁵ But You, O Lord God, are compassionate and merciful, longsuffering, and abundant in mercy and true.

⁸ The Lord is compassionate and gracious, longsuffering, and full of mercy.

⁴ To the upright light has sprung up in darkness; he is pitiful, and merciful, and righteous.

⁷ I remembered the mercy of the Lord, the praises of the Lord in all things in which He recompenses us. The Lord is a good judge to the house of Israel; He deals with us according to His mercy, and according to the abundance of His righteousness.

¹⁸ Who is a God like You, canceling iniquities, and passing over the sins of the remnant of His inheritance? And He has not kept His anger for a testimony, for He delights in mercy. ¹⁹ He will return and have mercy upon us; He will sink our iniquities, and they shall be cast into the depth of the sea, even all our sins.

²⁰ But the law came in alongside, so that the offense might abound. But where sin abounded, grace superabounded, ²¹ so that just as sin reigned in death, so also grace might reign through righteousness to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

²⁴ and having given thanks, He broke it and said, "Take, eat; this is My body which has been broken for you; do this in remembrance of Me." ²⁵ Likewise He also took the cup after supper, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in My blood. This do, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me." ²⁶ For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until He comes.

⁶ to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He bestowed favor upon us in the Beloved. ⁷ In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace ⁸ which He made to abound toward us in all wisdom and insight,

¹⁴ and the grace of our Lord superabounded with faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.
